This was my first ever mountain bike experience and I got to test out my new DYU King 750 electric mountain bike! I headed to Alafia Mountain Bike Park and had a blast hitting all the trails there with ease thanks to the power of my new bike lol

@@daycowhite6947 I'm gatekeeping here, but yes it is a MTB shaped object. This is more of a motorized bicycle than a true MTB/eMTB, the throttle makes it not a true bicycle. E-bikes are pedal assist only, meaning no throttle. This nuance is important because of the way various statutes are written.
Trek - Rail is more of a eMTB than this as is the Power Meta from Commencal, YT also has the Decoy eMTB. The Specialized Turbo series of bikes is a full range of e-bikes. Plus more that I can't think of at this time. Most of these bikes are half the weight and built with enthusiast level components compared to the DYU bike.

I just want to say that if you ever start mixing in mountain bike content, I won’t be upset at all. I switched from bmx to mountain bikes a few years ago so I fucking love that jay started posting mountain bike stuff.

I like having a mtb for cruising for when I am healing from bmx injuries. Keeps me away from stakeparks and street spots. Nice for when you just want a relaxing ride.

Try out a "trail bike" or Enduro style full suspension bike with good suspension, you'll lose your mind how you can monster truck and/or launch/hop everything. So fun!

Just add saddlebag baskets and make it a grocery and six pack getter. Stick it on the back of the van and make it another form of transportation when you don't want to move your van/house.

Ebikes are great fun as commuter/grocery shopping transport. I'd definitely recommend getting hydraulic calipers for the brakes on a bike that size/weight, standard disc calipers will wear down really quick and need constant adjustment (and new pads).
Depends on the ebike. Mine is 57 pounds, and with cable disk brakes I have never wished for more. Adjustment is literally 10 seconds with an allen key. Wear isn't bad 2500km on fronts, more on the rear, the way I ride. Front pad change 15 minutes tops. Rear a bit more, just as a tube or tire change is more.
$200-300 extra for hydraulic doesn't seem worthwhile. Maybe on the much heavier fat bikes, but I would not buy a fat bike.
@@joeshmoe7967 Don’t need a whole hydraulic system, just callipers, even a fairly decent set can be bought for under £100.

As someone who bmxed for most of my life I used to think mountain bikes were barely a notch above road bikers. Then I started MTBing and I realized it was more like off-road bmx, which is a much better way to look at it

Yea fr I dabble in MTB occasionally but mainly BMX, and if you’re pushing yourself you can get equally hurt on either, but on BMX you can keep it chill and do casual stuff and not get hurt, MTB you can keep it chill and do casual stuff and still break your collarbone on a rock at 20mph.

Alafia is my home trails. I love that place. The challenge is the climbing though. Makes it easy on an E bike.

I follow a couple mountain biking channels and I gotta say, that park looks super rad! Totally unique environment as far as mountain bike parks go. I've never been to Florida, but if I ever go this looks like a cool place to visit!

Definitely good idea after a ride like that to completely give your bike a once-over as new stuff has tendency to loosen up and would hate to have bars loosen up or someone get seriously injured. That Ebike would be a lifesaver for me as lost license from back excise tax had long slipped my mind as was around time lost my oldest brother and then following year my father. I have to work to pay it off but live in rural area so end up walking down busy road to get into town or work, around 15-18 miles each way. Always hopeful things will somehow turn around as would still want a quality Ebike even if could legally drive as I'm always outside doing stuff or hiking. You should get together with Matty and y'all have a awesome time Spencer as he's into MTB and Ebikes as well and you guy's are hilarious together and amazing riding.

Hit the bowl at a diagonal, DO NOT GO STRAIGHT FORWARD into the bowl. But lean into it and ride down like surfing a wave. Don’t focus to much on your back wheel. Guide your front wheel and your back will follow.

That bike is not legal at Alafia trails. Only pedal assist e-bikes are legal there
I suspect the problem is that is has a throttle and isn't pedal assist. But as far as a serious e bike.... 🤣 Chinese rubbish. And really don't buy a serious e bike unless it is full suspension. The weight of them alone will break them.
