  • The Side Smash Pass is one of the most demoralizing guard passes in BJJ. It not only puts your opponent in a horrible and uncomfortable position, but also leads straight to the mount control (dope mount).
    In this video I cover some of the most common entries into the Side Smash Pass, how to prevent leg lock counters, details to flatten your opponent out, and how to transition to mount or side control.

      @@MMALeech.......... 8:28 when he triangle his legs, get into the back of the knee (half guard), I think I have a problem !? ... what do you mean SHIHAN ? Is there an option for me ?
      THANK´S .... Oss

      @@andyx2299 if he triangles his legs he might prevent the pass but not the mount, he won't be able to touch his elbow to his knee effectively, especially if you open your trapped knee (right knee in the video) separating his elbow from the knee even more, that should give you the angle to get your left leg into the mount position and lift your right knee off the mat so you can free it and go to the mount

    Very nice. Professor what do you like to do when in dope mount and the opponent is able to flair out their top knee making it hard to smash it?

      @MMALeech  3 года назад +1

      I would certainly try to readjust the angle of my hip first, to see if I can still smash that top knee, if not then I would work on a leg drag pass to the other side

    I do something like this with my arm threading between his legs rather than using my leg, and with my weight on top of the legs. Then work my torso up from there. Is that a variation of this? .

      I think the idea is the same Rick, we could say is a variation.

      You can't mount without passing, but if you are talking about side control then it's here at 8:53
