    Chinese ladies are stepping up their games nowadays and that’s awesome for the Asian women sports and the world at large.

    From a few matches I have watched, Yafan Wang is a very intelligent player. At the start of the matches, she was easily overpowered or overplayed by her stronger opponents, and her quiet demeanour didn't help either, just when you thought this girl had no chance, she slowly came back to life, she figured out the game and forged a plan to play, that's some talent! If she had more power or some weapons, she would be great!

    • @nosurprise6245
      @nosurprise6245 11 месяцев назад +1

      She needs to build up confidence, lacking in many Chinese athletes. Coaching issue, too focus on technique but forgot mental toughness in competitions

    • @user-hm8nb5jr3w
      @user-hm8nb5jr3w 11 месяцев назад +6

      @@nosurprise6245 She showed tremendous confidence and pushed all her three matches to the last min. How much more tougher you want her to be? She lost in R3 simply because she was outplayed physically, and Zheng's technique is better too. You mental toughness lecture suits more to Tsitsipas.

      @@user-hm8nb5jr3w yep, not to mention Wang's massive come back from 0:6 0:3 down to beat Cirstea in R1, she is remarkably resilient!!!

      Loudness-wise, yes this is not as bad as Sonego or Niculescu. But what Zheng did is more of a hindrance than Sabalenka or Alcaraz because Zheng screamed out of nowhere lol. You expect Sabalenka to grunt, you don't expect Zheng to suddenly moaned like a banshee 4-5 times in a single rally after the whole match barely even grunting lmao

      @@user-hm8nb5jr3w Uhhh.....just watch any highlight. He grunt 70-80% of the time. He only didn't grunt when he hit slices. He grunted during his serve, when hitting top-spin, etc. Qinwen suddenly grunted way louder only during those succesion of point, but that wouldn't warrant penalty in my view, just a dic* move overall

    • @user-hm8nb5jr3w
      @user-hm8nb5jr3w 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@SANDUSK471 Nop, when he serves, that sound is anticipated and not loud. I wouldn't call that grunt, but when he in ambush mode, his grunt is sudden and louder. I have noticed his sudden louder ambush grunts often follow relative quiet or soft sounds.

    Zheng could have got two breaks up in the 3rd set, then a tie-break might not be needed. When Wang served, the score was 30:40, Wang drove the ball to baseline, some audience shouted "out" and Zheng stopped, but that ball touched the baseline and was in. Zheng was next to the ball, if not because of the audience's "out" call, she could get it. Many players would argue with Umpire, and the Umpire can call a replay. But Zheng shrugged her shoulders, accepted 40:40, and eventually Wang kept her serve. The umpire should have called a replay because that's a crucial point in the 3rd set. But it doesn't matter now.

    It was super smart of zheng to push wang to the side (the last rally of the match) and went to the mid court, but Zhang superbly neutralized that. Thats just amazing how much tactical aspects involved between these two players.
    It was pity that Wang was just playing defense, i think she can pushed it little further if she went more aggresive at the end.

At the end of match, the arena was full and everyone stood up applauding the last point, the match point. One hour later, everyone realised that the first match was the match of the day. The second match was not worth watching 😂
