From a few matches I have watched, Yafan Wang is a very intelligent player. At the start of the matches, she was easily overpowered or overplayed by her stronger opponents, and her quiet demeanour didn't help either, just when you thought this girl had no chance, she slowly came back to life, she figured out the game and forged a plan to play, that's some talent! If she had more power or some weapons, she would be great!
@@nosurprise6245 She showed tremendous confidence and pushed all her three matches to the last min. How much more tougher you want her to be? She lost in R3 simply because she was outplayed physically, and Zheng's technique is better too. You mental toughness lecture suits more to Tsitsipas.
What a battle! I was rooting for Queen Wen OF COURSE and nearly had a heart attack.😭😭 But credit goes to both players for their intelligent play, their tenacity and the absence of diva behaviour.
Loudness-wise, yes this is not as bad as Sonego or Niculescu. But what Zheng did is more of a hindrance than Sabalenka or Alcaraz because Zheng screamed out of nowhere lol. You expect Sabalenka to grunt, you don't expect Zheng to suddenly moaned like a banshee 4-5 times in a single rally after the whole match barely even grunting lmao
@@user-hm8nb5jr3w Uhhh.....just watch any highlight. He grunt 70-80% of the time. He only didn't grunt when he hit slices. He grunted during his serve, when hitting top-spin, etc. Qinwen suddenly grunted way louder only during those succesion of point, but that wouldn't warrant penalty in my view, just a dic* move overall
@@SANDUSK471 Nop, when he serves, that sound is anticipated and not loud. I wouldn't call that grunt, but when he in ambush mode, his grunt is sudden and louder. I have noticed his sudden louder ambush grunts often follow relative quiet or soft sounds.
Congrats to Miss Zheng! We know Zheng is good but being pushed to the last 2 points of the match by Wang Yafan is something I didn't expect. Wang Yafan is good player then. No wonder she took out Emma.
Zheng could have got two breaks up in the 3rd set, then a tie-break might not be needed. When Wang served, the score was 30:40, Wang drove the ball to baseline, some audience shouted "out" and Zheng stopped, but that ball touched the baseline and was in. Zheng was next to the ball, if not because of the audience's "out" call, she could get it. Many players would argue with Umpire, and the Umpire can call a replay. But Zheng shrugged her shoulders, accepted 40:40, and eventually Wang kept her serve. The umpire should have called a replay because that's a crucial point in the 3rd set. But it doesn't matter now.
It was super smart of zheng to push wang to the side (the last rally of the match) and went to the mid court, but Zhang superbly neutralized that. Thats just amazing how much tactical aspects involved between these two players. It was pity that Wang was just playing defense, i think she can pushed it little further if she went more aggresive at the end.
Zheng is the queen of tennis in China she will be number 1 in the world soon, I also hope that Wang can reach there as well both have excellent potential
I honestly think they are just simply incompetent. They jump from one 'sensation' to the next, change things around on the fly and consequently lose the plot.
@@ricklee5845there's dozens of match's going on. That's a whole lot of clips to fast forward and backwards to clip and post n a Saturday. Give people a break. At the beginning of the match, there were about 25% seats having audiences and most of them were for the second match watching the Spanish young king. At the end of match, the arena was full and everyone stood up applauding the last point, the match point. One hour later, everyone realised that the first match was the match of the day. The second match was not worth watching 😂
I guess only players who scream like maniacs every single shot are not hindering. Otherwise if you don't always scream people think you're hindering when you do? Ridiculous
Don't be silly. Zheng is now one of the top players in the WTA, the Most Improved Player the Year winner, and about to enter the top ten. She's the twelfth seed for the tournament.
2:40 Zheng absolutely played dirty at the match point. She screamed twice in the rally after she hit the ball. Wang was a better player today. This is bs😢😢
Could it be that it was arranged a few days ago and they didn't wanna change? As they thought it would be a Raducanu-Zheng match which would draw a bigger audience?
Chinese ladies are stepping up their games nowadays and that’s awesome for the Asian women sports and the world at large.

She needs to build up confidence, lacking in many Chinese athletes. Coaching issue, too focus on technique but forgot mental toughness in competitions

Both of them are good players the match has been good let them keep that playing styles and add on more we will see them at the peak in WTA .
I knew Qinwen wouldn’t win the match easily as Yafan is a really tough player!
Laughing at the clowns calling that a hindrance as if we don't have Alcaraz and Sabalenka on tour who scream like that every point
Totally agree

They both play hard for their survival to the fourth round and they both play very well, it was an entertaining match, love them both
What an awesome battle! Well played ladies!

I’ve noticed the whole tournament audience members have been shouting out, I think it’s really harmful to the game.

Great battle.
What a rally to end the match
How are people crying about this being hindrance ? When you put max effort for certain shots like she did in the end its common to end up grunting.
yessss I fuc. king love that match point and reaction. EMOTIONNN BABYYYY
So I notice that AO posted the RUclips highlight slower today. Saturday? Or is there technical issue?

Don’t you see they always put same country players in the same draw makes no sense

Theirs serves are beautifully curve.
Common Zheng, let’s go.
It didn’t show the handshake but was rather cold given they are same country
Congratulations to you both 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉❤️🔥💃🏿💃🏿🇯🇲🙏good game

I would term it luck in this case since it was 9-8 in the 3rd. At times 2 chinese players or 2 lefties left me wondering if the draws were rigged.
No handshake shown at the end!😮
I watched live, they did shake hands with each. Maybe not shown in highlights
Yafan is wearing a different design from Nike. Beautiful. Or maybe recycled stuff from 2 years ago. Vika had this set at the US open against pliskova.
She doesn’t have a sponsor for clothing yet…
2:42 that’s definitely a hindrance wtf lol
So what, Alcaraz hinders on every single shot?
how is that last shot not a hindrance lol
How is that a hindrance, LOL
And 2 russians advances?
Come on
she hits so slow she wont get pass next round
Bye bye WANG
A bit ridiculous two unknown Chinese players on center court at Australian Open. Obviously the organizers have a deal with the Australian Open.

Ugly win
1:34 That's how you play at net when two opponents are close (by not aiming the opponent and smashing the ball)
Are the chinese gone through border Australia?
Do you want Chinese warships to pass by?

is this your first day watching tennis? Sabalenka, Sharapova, etc. grunt every point and that's ok? Pathetic loser comment
So Alcaraz hinders every single shot
The better one wins, period
