Ya'll should check out the short film "I Owe My Life to Corbin Bleu". It's so surreal. It has the legend himself in it and there's unexpected cameos from other legends like Sterling Knight, Sarah Hyland, etc and unfortunately Dr*k* B*ll and that annoying kid from HSM3 that was in love with Sharpay (not our boy zeke)....who is Sarah Hyland's abusive ex bf irl 🙄 all in all, it's a great short film!

Not exactly. Corbin did say that he auditioned for the role of Ryan because the character was originally African American. Also, director Kenny Ortega admitted to originally envisioning the character as gay. Admitting to intentionally give the character hints and undertones of his sexuality. At the time, being gay was not accepted. So, Disney took out all of the gay nuance of the character.
They made the character white due to wanting to use the recognizable actress Ashley Tisdale to play Sharpay and making the character look related to the star. So, they put Corbin on as Chad. Although the character Ryan had some significance in _High School Musical,_ he became sidelined throughout the film series. Whilst chad gained more of a significant role later on. This helped Corbin gain more of a spotlight. Also, with the stigma placed against homosexuality, it would’ve probably stunted Corbin’s career during that time if they gave him the role of Ryan with that aspect to the character.
Corbin always gave his appreciation to the series as a jumpstart for his career and is happy where he is. There was a rumor that he wasn’t very much into starting a solo music career. However, he appreciated that aspect of his career and greatly enjoyed his transition to broadway and other opportunities he gained.

Zac can sing. If he couldn’t, he wouldn’t have gotten the role. The reason he didn’t sing in the first one is bc they thought they needed a tenor for some reason so Drew Seely did the singing. Corbin is a baritone just like Zac so….. if they casted him as Troy, he wouldn’t have had the voice they needed either.

Drew Seeley sang for Zac because they needed a higher range voice for the songs in HSM, Zacs singing was too deep for the songs. It wasn’t because they thought Zac was a bad singer, he sang really well in HSM 2 and 3, Hairspray and the Greatest showman.
Zac was actually going through puberty so it's not his actual fault.

I rarely tune in to cheesy holiday movies, but best believe I'll tune in to theirs.
It seems Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens took the most popularity from HSM. Ashely Tisdale got recognition, but not as much as the other two. Corbin, aswell as Taylor and and Ryan's actors deserved just as much as hype. Overall, I think all the other actors are underrated besides Vanessa and Zac.

Corbin Bleu was so fine back then!!! I wasn't even a fan of High School Musical, but my sister was obsessed with the franchise and I'd watch with her just to look at him lol. He actually had a lot of similarities with my real-life high school crush at the time minus the hair. Both of them had the exact same skin tone, were tall, were athletes, played baseball at that, were very charismatic, and very popular. Unlike how Chad (Corbin's character in HSM) is portrayed as the sidekick character, my high school crush definitely was the main star of my school lol. He even won prom king for his grade. He was just literally the epitome of what you'd want out of a teenage heartthrob. Anyway, I think Corbin and Khleo Thomas started my love for guys with big curly hair and golden tan skin.

He actually played a better star in all his HSM co-staring roles, than Zac Effron played the actual star. He deserves way more recognition that he’s getting, but we all know his skin tone had a lot to do with him not being as famous as Vanessa and Zac.
What makes you think his skin color has any relevance in him not being as famous anymore? He's not the only person from the High School Musical who isn't that relevant anymore Lucas Gabreel & Ashley Tisdale (outside of voicing Candice from Phineas & Ferb) haven't been relevant sense then either. I'd argue even Vanessa Hudgens hasn't been as relevant as Zac Effron.

Granted, we don’t hear much ab said cast members now. However, they were given more opportunities to show their talent due their skin colors unlike Corbin and Monique when the last you heard ab them was when they were in HSM and you literally have got searching to see what they were up to since then. Whereas, Zac, Vanessa, and Ashley, and even a little bit of Luca had/have more things tied to them that people know without searching than HSM

Even though I love Zack Efron and think he's a great actor, it would have made more sense to cast Corbin Bleu for the lead, giving his talent. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that his skin color had something to do with it.

I remember when watching hsm that I have more crush on him than troy. lmao back then my mom said he had such potential bc he's a great showman and an all package in the first concert and kinda little bit like michael jackson. although I'm sad his talent were so underrated, I'm glad he's still doing fine on his own and is at peace and away from all the hollywood drama.
