      Who wouldn't wanna play with Botez, while holding a bad hand, even though she's a nit? She's fun, beautiful, and non-threatening. That's the key to Dnegs success too. Many don't realize there's an element of 'commensalism' that occurs in poker between players. It's got to do with your image, likability, and charm at the table. Not everyone can pull it off. You gotta work with what you got and exploit your perceived image. Live poker is like having no choice in avatar and screen name...That's why online player's success doesn't necessarily translate to live. There's so many more psychological factors going on.

    • @bryceshinohara9270
      @bryceshinohara9270 8 месяцев назад

      Counterfeit is when the board contains a higher version of the same hand. Board has a pair of 5s after the river which is higher than Mariano's pair of 4s. Next board had no pair after the river so Mariano's 4 pair was still valid. (An 8 would've counterfeited him again or a 7 would've given Botez a higher pair)

    Magnus's chess is great, but his ability to read people is what makes him the greatest chess player in the world.
    He crushes people psychologically. No nerves ever show and he's able to see clearly under immense pressure.

    If so, i think it's funny how the poker-players spend years and years getting to the top, while the chess players just slike in between the ranks.

    • @WeddingfilmsinfraserValley
      @WeddingfilmsinfraserValley Год назад +1

      Not at all. Magnus didn’t play well here. He hit cards and got lucky. His reads were off. The same for Alex. Put them in a scenario where they have played thousands of hands and they have had a bad run of cards and get sucked out on the river a few dozen times and you’ll see the difference between them and pro’s. GTO is great for poker, but in live cash games it is far more profitable to effectively deviate.
