    Wow, you sure cleaned and organized that compartment well. Really sharp. I'm about to buy a Key West 189FS with a 115 Yamaha this week and was thinking about this video with the lithium setup. I know it cost a bundle to do this upgrade but when we're on the water there's no time for bs. Good job, Jesse! p.s. I also watched the video where you showed how you clean your boat.

    Good video. It was nice meeting you at the ramp Sunday morning. I was the guy in the Carolina Skiff next to you.

    Finally Lithium getting into boating mainstream. It's been long enough since rc and shines days .

    Been following for a while and always get excited to get on the water after watching your videos! Any update on the Epoch lithium? Thinking of making the switch as well. There’s so many different brands out there

    Think I saw you last weekend on the bay next to the second island I said hi to you. I have a 36-volt Monster Marine Lith on my power pole move trolling motor they make great batteries.

      Hey sorry if I didn't hollar back. I'm usually pretty focused while on a charter. And yes they do have great batteries.

    Loving my Epoch batteries, put a male plug onto the charger so all I have to do is unplug the trolling motor and plug the charger into the same port. Works great, no onboard charger so even more weight savings!

    If you ever need another option for on board charging, the “powerpole charge” to my knowledge is the most advanced battery charger on the market. The actively managed and prioritized ALL of your batteries at all times as well as charge while you’re running. They have an app that you can use to customize and prioritize what percent of the active charging goes to which battery. Bass fisherman have been putting this system to the test for years now running 5 graphs with every transducer you can own lol most guys are running 4-5 lithiums in their bass boats

      It is a nice setup for sure, but very expensive. This charger is half the price (actually I got it much les than that) and does all the same funcitons that I need.

      @@SouthernReelsFishing half the price???….I learn something new on your channel all the time lol

    I would love to do this, but Suzuki manual recommends a lead acid starting battery. Does the alternator create enough voltage to charge a lithium battery? Most lithium batteries need higher voltage to charge.

    • @SouthernReelsFishing
      @SouthernReelsFishing  10 месяцев назад

      Yes it will charge the battery, just not completely full. A plug in at home will top it off. When I get off the water the batteries usually show 96 percent charged.

    Hey Jesse, you have power poles so I’m curious why you chose their charger over the Power Pole Charge who created this type of charger? Was the price better, does it have any other features?

    • @SouthernReelsFishing
      @SouthernReelsFishing  2 месяца назад

      Price was definietly better. Less than half the price. Not sure about features I would have to read up on the power pole one

    You might consider running off one battery and switching in the other for reserve. Your batteries have plenty capacity to run all day.

    • @SouthernReelsFishing
      @SouthernReelsFishing  10 месяцев назад

      I'm thinking about that. Or maybe make one a dedicated sonar battery that's isolated from everything else. But could still use it for the motor if necessary

    • @sws763
      @sws763 10 месяцев назад

      Yep, I run a similar setup. My 1, 2, 1+2 battery switch stays on 1 and graphs and Active Target are hardwired straight to #2. #2 is still wired to switch in event I need it for cranking.

    Jesse - I just got an epoch 36v/110ah + Minn kota ulterra trolling motor. I will keep you posted on my experience. I noticed you had a stabilizer for the trolling motor shaft. What kind did you get? Just looking for something that won’t break easy :)

    • @SouthernReelsFishing
      @SouthernReelsFishing  10 месяцев назад

      For sure let me know! I use a ram mount claw setup. But for the Ulterra I suggest the one that Minn Kota sells. It's designed to be able to release if you forget and accidently deploy the motor while the support is still attached. The Ram setup I have would not pop loose and could possibly damage the power trim housing on the trolling motor

    Jesse, did you happen to get a weight difference between your old and new set up? Just a guess on my part but it looks like you took out about 400 lbs. I know when I switched to lithium on my kayak the less weight was a huge performance upgrade for me.

    Just an idea bud, put some solar panels on top of the Bimini and slow trickle while you fish. May not give you a full charge but it will definitely help.
