im loving your greenhouse and cant wait to see it more full :) just wanted to add to make some research for the fountain/pond regarding putting a fish in it, it looks too tiny for a fish to be happy in that amount of water, regardless its a charming project

seconding this! def too small for goldfish. they surprisingly need a lot of room.

you could do guppies or ricefish or white cloud minnows if you still want fish. But yes, pretty small for goldfish.

@@BeccaDeLaPlantsyou should add a giant rock in the middle and have carnivorous plants like ultriculara or pings on the rock. Now its an island with carnivorous plants 🤗

So in greenhouse life a sink is a GAME CHANGER. Plus if you’re mindful of what you wash down the drain you could collect and reuse the water. I think that wooden counter with the sink will end up being your main work spot where you can repot without soil falling through the grates that are on the other benches. Your pottery should be right where you are repotting so you don’t have to walk in circles. Probably under the corner bench. I do think a curtain under the sink counter/bench would be nice. The greenhouse is for you to ENJOY so having a spot you can hide unfinished work or just messy storage will greatly help the overall aesthetic. You could put it on a tension line so it slides all the way open easily if you think it’ll be annoying or in the way. The grated bench is for you to put PLANTS on! Lol start bringing your plants outside to live in the greenhouse. Choose ones that are in bigger pots so they don’t dry out too quickly, ones you’re struggling with inside, plants you know like humidity and all the light, your Hoyas will LOVE the greenhouse. Once you have plants out there to mess with and propagate you’ll start filling that bench up in no time.

I love this new series, and I am all here for the greenhouse chores.
My biggest question is, if you can stay longer at this property, because you used to mention that because of Daniels job, you need to move regularly. I really hope you will have a lot of time enjoying your greenhouse. It was such a labour of love

And in the greenhouse, what I would do is have a lot of indoor plants in there. Fill up all that counterspace and leave a section for your pottery.

  • @Chris-knight

9:51 you can use silicone( like used in fish tanks) to cover that hole but make sure it’s safe for fish.
And for live aquatic plants I recommend Java fern, anubias, hornwort(can be left glued on a rock or float)
Floating plants: frogbit, water lettuce. Duckweed(but it grows very fast and can cover too much of the surface limiting light to the other plants)
And I buy my aquatic plants from eBay, Etsy, petco, and petsmart. If you are buying online remember to check your weather.

Heey Becca 🌻The greenhouse is just to become as beautiful and cozy or "Hyggeligt" as we say in Denmark. Good job, you can be prud of that! I know how much work and time it has taken, I'm so glad you're on your way that you can finally start the "fun stuff" hihi. Take care of yourself, hugs Caroline 🪴🌵🌻

Also you should look into the Waltstad tank concept. It’s essentially if you have enough plants, it will be self cleaning. Any aquarium store will have plants.
Also you might already know this but you need to cycle the water before you put fish in or else they will kill themselves bc the water doesn’t have the right bacteria to break down their fish poop! Just a heads up!!

The greenhouse is looking awesome 💕 I would leave your soil where it is close to the door. It would look cute to have the curtain at the sink area but it would be a pain to have to get the curtain out of the way to access things you use all the time. 😀🇨🇦

i love the green house it looks so cool!!
regarding the goldfish, i would advice against using them for your fountain. they're waste producing machines and without a super strong filter and a bunch of floater plants, it will be very tough to keep them for long. but i bet if you go to a local aquatics store and ask for advice on stocking, they'll be able to suggest just the right fish for your little pond. its so cute, i cant wait for updates

I love the little water feature you made. It will bring such great sound into the greenhouse. I"m not sure it would be suitable for goldfish though. I impulsively bought a 'feeder' goldfish at the pet store 7 years ago, and now he is MASSIVE. At least 6 inches long. I had no idea they got so big. I've since done research and found out he could keep growing. If you ever put in a pond, let me know, I'll mail him to you. 🤣🤣🤣

  • @kimmykat6887

I see pond plants on market place a lot this time of year. Or pet stores have some. Also at the pet store check out the feeder fish. There are usually some that are smaller than goldfish. They would work in your fountain. I think they are called rosey reds.
I think your pump is too powerful. Sometimes there is a spot on the side or bottom to turn it down.

Part of why I’ve slowed down on propagating plants is that they don’t always look that cute in a spagnum moss container and they take up space… I’d use the workbench for some “project plants” or propagations!

Pet store has them the plants for the fish thing. The tips are falling off because the water is not on top of them. Goldfish get pretty big you want like tetras guppies and mollies. Those three Fish are pretty good fish and they all worked together if you get a bunch of them together.

I would try to figure out what type of work you want to do in the greenhouse and which work would benefit from beeing close to the sink. And what you will do how ofte, so which get´s the prime spot :D
This should help figure out the layout. You can also start putting just a few thing in the spots you think, to kind of illustrate the layout, for me it always helps to see things.
I also would consider to move the lovely shell hanging above or right next to the seating area, at least once you fill up the work bench. It does look lovely in the corner, but at the same time it looks too big for that place in my opinion.

I am a former goldfish hobbyist and I wouldn’t recommend putting goldfish in your mini pond fountain. They actually require a lot of space and produce a lot of waste so it would get dirty and unhealthy very fast. There are some other smaller fish varieties that would be easier to care for like guppies.
There are some great aquarist RUclips creators who have videos on how to make patio ponds and setting them up to be a healthy environment for fish.

  • @AleeshaSattva
    @AleeshaSattva Месяц назад

Oh no... not goldfish - they are pooping machines. You need small fish like danios that can withstand cooler temps and warmer temps of your outdoor space. Plus they are small and not hard to bring inside during the winter if needed (depending on how much you heat your greenhouse)
