    Gear I mention:
Synthetic insulated zipped jackets like the Berghaus Hypertherm
    amzn.to/3yJt5GZ
    Montane Podium Pants waterproof trousers
    amzn.to/3yoH3NY
    Yaktrax Snow Grippers
    amzn.to/3ysANVM
    Kahtoola Microspikes
    amzn.to/3ysANVM
NEW IN! Thanks to Bilal Tahir for mentioning the Kahtoola EXOspikes which are designed for multi-terrain use with carbide walking-pole type grippers rather than shark-tooth spikes. Really cool idea for mixed conditions of snow, mud and everything else. Here they are amzn.to/3l889Go

Absolutely great advice, especially that relating to how different things can look in the snow, and how unfamiliar a route can suddenly appear. Visual and audio cues are very different and this can be really confusing. Preparation and a bit of planning are the key here.
    Cracking video, Claire

Great advice. Yellow / pink ski goggles / glasses are great as they show relief more and make it feel like it's sunny outside. Very true about the route looking different in snowy conditions... A well known route is also very different if you go round in the opposite direction!

Great video! What a lovely day for a run! I've been stuck on the treadmill due to a foot of snow and ice, but I suppose that's just an excuse... I've got spikes. I'm running a road 10k this weekend (sadly no trail races in the winter), but after that I'll stop being a wuss and hit the trails again.

Lol well treadmill is super useful if you don't want to slip over, but actually I think I'd be more likely to just fall off the back of it so I'm safer out in the wild lol!

Great video. On the gloves point went out for my normal run in the cold rain and only realized my hands frozen when it was hard to put the key in the door afterwards.

    I'm from Finland and I don't understand this 😀
My 2 cents: Wool mittens are great because they don't get cold when wet. EVA midsoles get rock hard in freezing temperatures.

Great advice, yes wool mitts are the best aren't they, the ones I had were synthetic though, so my hands were getting a bit chilly

@@wildgingerruns yes these are the ones. I think they are more versatile than the microspikes because you don't have to keep taking them off when you get to pavements without snow. They are for both road and trail
