- In this video, I talk about Sharongate, why the storyline was successful, and discuss the role of trauma in the story.

Great analysis! I feel like the ghost of Sharon always haunted Tiffany throughout her marriage to Grant too. If Martine McCutcheon had stayed with the show, in time for Letitia's eventual return, I feel the natural evolution of Phil/Sharon/Grant would have been the Tiffany/Grant/Sharon triangle.
The main thing this video seems to highlight is the incredible continuity and consistency in Sharon, Phil and Grants history and backstory. Over the years the abusive backgrounds they all had have been as accurately referenced in later eras as they were in earlier ones and originally.
Ben likes lady gaga doctor who and hanging out with Heather took me off guard 😂😂😂😂
There’s something freudian about the mitchell bros wanting a blonde bar-maid, kinda like their mum, a blonde bar-maid.
mmm a little scary thought
Peggy appeared on screen played by a different actress before Grant & Sharon's marriage and Sharongate.
Great video. Really interesting discussion about love triangles and what makes them work.
So happy to see another video up, love the story of the Mitchell Family, and the story of SharonGate, keep up the great work.
Love your videos dude. Brings back so many memories. You deserve way more subs and exposure than you have.
It would be interesting to have a video on Sheanu, it’s become a long running storyline with the six and is also similar to Sharongate
Spectacular, thought provoking, unexpected, revealing, analytical,, intriguing. Please keep these videos coming.
Excellent, keep up the good work!
Excellent! Glad you’re back
Glad you’re back
great to see another upload! keep em coming
You’re back!! Love ur video discussion 🎉
Great video. I stumbled across your channel must have been a couple of months back. Just re-watched your Soap Tier video and it's superb. I've really enjoyed your content and as you mentioned in that video, there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of different subject you could do. Keep up the good work, we know that it takes time to put these videos out, but it's totally worth it.
Another great video, keep them coming!
Would love to see an analysis on Frank and Pats complicated relarionship or the Steve, Matthew and Saskia storyline
I think Cindy, Ian and David is an interesting one. What makes it interesting isn't really Cindy, though. Nor is it because Wicksy went there first. It's the relationship between Ian and David as the Beale half-brothers which is so fascinating. Even Ian's relationship with his poorer niece, Bianca, is surprisingly intriguing, even if it isn't all that often explored. I hope they get a few scenes together on Bianca's brief return coming soon.
Keep these videos coming
i also noticed how in the eastenders flashback, eric wasn't a physically imposing man. I had always envisioned eric as being a big guy and a brute. But the guy in the flashback was a bit of a pathetic petty crook
I think it’s smart writing I think we envision authority figures being bigger and more intimidating than they actually are especially when they rule with an iron fist like Eric did
found you through your written take on cwc's identity
thought it was cool to see you take that (obviously correct) stance among a seemingly endless sea of deniers

This is brilliant. Could you do a video on the Mitchell sisters?
Thank you 🙂 I’d like to talk about Ronnie and Roxy at some point, killing them off was a bizarrely foolish decision that I’d love to look into.
@@soapstudy4669hope they do a Kathy and bring them back or at least Ronnie just thought she was a more interesting character than Roxy
Coronation Street had "Ken - 1, Mike - 0". EastEnders had Sharongate.
Fantastic video - where online can we view the full flashback episode?
It should still be on BBC I Player.
Peggy was played by a different actress before Grant & Sharon's marriage and Sharongate
For sure. Before the absurd storylines, before the dreadful history retcons, before the WOKE Politics, before the cheesey callbacks, before Jay got left in the van EE was a great character lead show.
It was brilliant.
