Armand has a special way of making people feel like it was their idea. When Lestat broke up the coven Armand secretly wanted to do that for years but he didn't want the blame to be on him. The same as when he made Louis feel like he had a choice to open up to him. Even though he already knows exactly what's going on from the very beginning

Also, Armand is terrible. He used Louis to bust up his cracked out coven because he was bored and sick of them.
Claudia gets her wish…to be part of the show. They turn her into a living doll - the opposite of what she wants. Girl wants to be grown sooooo bad. She’s gonna lose her mind and act out in the most terrible way.
Assad Zaman is doing such a powerful but subtle job at playing Armand. He keeps me confused, and I love it! 😂

He had to put time and effort into doing that! He had to think about what he wanted to do, go to a church, steal it off the wall, and walk down the street with it, and THEN bring it down to the coven. He is so petty for that, and I love him for it! 😂

Lestat swooped in, took the lesson, the booty, and dipped! 😂 He leaves a trail of broken hearts wherever he goes but he had me at that piano, I know we've heard him sing before but baby I was Etta James Sugar On The Floor! The people had to come scoop me up. I think Armand is manipulative and supposedly the books say that Louis is the most beautiful vampire ever made so I guess that pretty privilege keeps working in his favor.

As an Armand fan, if anyone was a victim in this situation, it was...well, everyone, but if anyone was a victim of anyone else in this situation it was definitely Lestat and Nicki. Armand may be my favorite, but he's my favorite because he is bonkerballs. He did exactly what anyone would do in that conversation with Daniel and he skipped all the bits he knew would make him look bad. idk how much of it was wholecloth lies, because their history wasn't quite like that in the books, but I am guessing the part with Lestat deliberately leading Armand on is pure delusion.

I love your reviews, you be takling me clean out! This season is SO good so far. Louis and Armand surely wont last, but lord the chemistry they have has me wanting to see exactly what they got up to when they went into the apartment.
They did such a good job with casting the 3 lead vamps, they all have such great chemistry together. And I was so happy to find out that Louis and Lestat are besties in real life!

Hey cousin. I think the Ragland (?) character is representing the Talamasca organization. They're the blueprint for Buffy"s Watchers Council. They are like supernatural historians and are part of both the vampire & Mayfair witches chronicals.I am such a nerd! In my defense, I've been reading Anne Rice long before I was age appropriate. 😅❤
I started to read about the Talamasca but then I stopped so I wouldn't spoil anything for myself.

So Ragland is from the Talamasca...which I've heard investigates paranormal events. The same group is featured on The Mayfair Witches show.

I’ve read that elsewhere in vampire novels (including Anne Rice’s works)…those turned when they’re too young go mad because they’ve lived too long in the limitations of a child’s body and those who are centuries old go mad because they’ve been on earth way too long and think they have no further reason to go on

I liked and hated this episode because I’ve read the books.. trying hard not to say anything but I don’t trust Armand.. don’t forget that flashback Daniel had in the last episode of Armand talking to him in the bar.. Armand is messing with their minds somehow and is up to something.. I think he’s messing with Louis to keep him and not let him run away like Lestat did.
Armand looks and speaks like he so honest and trustworthy, but I know he’s lying about so much. Ugh, I love him! 😂
You are hilarious! I think they all are unreliable narrators. Armand is giving his point of view. He’s trying to impress Louis & Daniel. Armand is lying & not to be trusted.

I'm finally caught up! To answer a few of your questions (spoiler free):
1. Armand had been tired of his sloven coven for some time before he met Lestat. I think he said something like, "Lestat said what I'd been thinking for years... they wouldn't believe it coming from me." Plus, the Medieval Vampire Employee Handbook clearly states that they should've burned Lestat on-sight (😂), so why give him the chance to speak at all? Armand totally let it happen 💅🏾
2. The REAL "bad guy" in this series is... unchecked narcissistic abuse 💀 That includes Lestat, the aldermen, and Bruno in Season 1, as well as the coven's cult vibes in Season 2 and Daniel's present day "sexagenarian playground bully" vibes.
3. I didn't finish The Vampire Armand (book 6 in the Anne Rice series), but Louis remarked on how young Armand looks, so it's safe to say he was made mayyybe in his early 20s? If he was in that Medieval Vampire Cult long enough to lead his own coven, and that's been his only social life for 514 years, his relationships gone be complicated 🤷🏾♀ Your guess is as good as mine, Cousin!
I watched the episode again and caught the line about Lestat saying what he was thinking/feeling. I was so distracted by how dirty Armand was looking that I missed it. 😂 I kinda want to read the books, but I’m honest with myself and know I don’t have the time right now, so maybe this fall/winter. Do you think they’re doing a good job at keeping the important source material while giving it the flair it needs for 2024 tv?

Also... I never read Interview 🥀 I was 12 and thought the movie told the whole story, lol. Wait, that's not why... I was rushing to get through Queen of the Damned before it hit theaters 😲 I completely forgot until now, just like in the show! Spooky 🥰
I did read books 5, 2, 3, 4, and 5 again, I swear 😂 ! If anything, the Queer Inclusion already makes this show closer to the source material than both movies, if we're being honest
