The Danger of Using God's Sovereignty Against Yourself

- I especially want to speak to those of you who are currently using God's sovereignty against yourself. And I say against yourself, because that's exactly what you're doing. If your reasoning is like this: "Well, God's sovereign, and you know he chooses whom he will, so I can't do anything. He's going to have to do it. It's all I've got to wait for him to do it, you see. I mean, I can't save myself. If I'm going to be saved, he must save me. I mean, he has mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will. He'll show compassion. He elects some, and some he doesn't. And so God's got to do this thing."

“Give what you command, O LORD, and then command whatever YOU will.”
You have no idea how much I’ve been struggling with this lately thank you 🙏 thank you so much
Jesus says to him, “Come here.” And you know what he does? He comes. He obeys him. And Jesus says, “Stretch out your hand” in verse five, and you know what he does? The man obeys him. Notice what he doesn’t do. He doesn’t say, “I can’t, Lord.” Even though he couldn’t. Jesus is actually asking him to do something that was absolutely impossible for him to do: stretch out his hand. But his obedient response to Jesus’ command released enabling power to do what otherwise he could not do. And his hand was restored. A transformation took place. That’s what happens when those who truly believe in this Son of God, in the sight and belief of that Son of God, results in obedience to his call. - Craig Mussulman (Full sermon: ruclips.net/video/_ISlAUCvdLg/видео.html)
I pray the Lord's prayer every morning then, go to him in deeper prayer. I want to cultivate a deeper relationship with him and one day, hopefully, receive the words, "well done the good and faithful servant."
Fellow brothers and sisters, if you have time, i ask for prayer during my hardship I am in with my spouse that she and I can endure this trial so we can overcome. Thank you. You are in my prayers as well.
Jesus I seek you everyday. Even when I feel like giving up I will keep faith. As a single mother. I’m struggling to make ends meet. My husband passed years ago. I have no one to turn to but you Lord JESUS. Both of my sons are special needs and require so much from me. Lord I’m afraid. Every month I struggle trying to provide for my children struggling to pay rent and to buy groceries. Lord help me and hear my prayers. Amen. 🙏🏾

Thank you for this.
Amen
Absolutely, why are we talking about God’s sovereignty and then putting Him to the test? Is God under pressure for us to obey? Is He suppose to mind control us to obey the clear instructions in His Word? Not likely, we have to respond to His sovereign commands. Not for salvation, but because of it. We’re His children and we do things our Fathers way.
Hmmm it's the same thing at the end of the day. God has to tell you to "come" and you will come. If you obey it's because God make it so. You didn't obey him per se, God irresistibly made you obey him.
So we are back to square one. That's still a valid 'excuse' because it's the truth. Are they lying when they say they cannot come? Of course not.
But are they willfully choosing not to come and remain in sin whenever left to themselves?
I do believe they freely choose to obey once He has called them to Himself as well....
Only calvinists have this dilemma.
@@Eben_Haezer Seems that the non-calvinists do since they can't accept God-ordained limitations upon "free" will
To be fair some of them can't make sense of it or understand but still
Does everyone have the ability to humble themselves and call on the name of the Lord?
Thanks 👍
Yes
Not in calvinist theology. In calvinism you need to be regenerated to be even humble. Biblically that's not the case.
