We took the bus from Salzburg which is more worth it , with the beautiful view along the way.
Route from Salzburg to Hallstatt :
Salzburg to Bad Ischl (Bus 150) for about 90mins ride
*Transfer to Bus 542 (with 20mins layover)
Bad Ischl to Hallstatt Gosaumühle for 20mins ride
*Transfer to Bus 543
Hallstatt Gosaumühle to Hallstatt Lahn (The bus stop for Hallstatt ) for 10-15 mins ride
