10 years before I was even born and English ain't my mother tongue either, yet I fell in love with the music once Mr. Hillage touched his magical guitar 🎸🥰🥰🥰 This is what the world needs most right now, new summer of love 💕 Thank you so much for the upload 😘
Saw Steve Hillage a few times in the 70's in UK, at Stonehenge festival, Glastonbury Fesitval, Newport and Cardiff. Blew me away every time. You can really get well spaced out and live it's was fantastic. Loved it. He always had a great band too - great drummer etc.
It's like punk never happened! Fantastic performance by all concerned. Steve was and still is vastly underrated. I love the intro guitar on Solar Music Sweet, transports meet straight back to my carefree youth. So reassuringly soothing.
Steve, and the Gong lads in general, weren't impacted by punk really. They embraced the ethos and energy, even if the music doesn't overlap as such. There's a video out there of Steve guesting with Sham 69, and he's in full flight Fish Rising mode.
@@Meddled I meant culturally it was like punk never happened even though 76/77 were the two big years for British punk. Gong had a very punk attitude. They weren't flower power fops. Their music was often very confrontational, and direct and their way of life was very much into establishment, going against the system. I've seen the Sham 69 footage. Jimmy Purcey and Steve were good friends. Both London boys.
Simply adore this song and Hillage for his cosmic understanding of reality that he expresses through his post psychedelic Progressive Canterbury masterpieces. Blessings

Original beautiful and unsurpassed space rock band. Magical synth work by Miquette Giraudy and out of the world guitar playing by Steve Hillage.
Steve Hillage is the king of prog rock, no question about it!
