They did NOT "lift" the tracks. They built what in railroad terms is called a TEMPORARY "shoofly track" which is a set of tracks that are parallel to the track corridor that is to be "elevated".

As a Fresno resident HSR is trying to solve many problems that we forgot were there. Always waiting in traffic at a train crossing is one of them.
