- I play a deathmatch game on Fort Wolcott and take a look at how the Animus Hack streak has changed since Revelations. FYI the Animus Hack has been nerfed server-side since this video was recorded. Points increment in steps of 100 now, instead of 150 like before in this video.

I miss multiplayer😢. Animus hack was fun but the losing streak 2x multiplier is how I get an obscene amount of ppoints from one kill.

It works like this. The stun/kill range is 10 yards. When slowed (stunned) by a throwing knife, that range is reduced to 6 yards. So if you hit someone with a knife and are still within 7 yards, or move into their 6 yard range, they will assassinate you. The best way to do it is to throw the knife while at a distance and slowly move, not sprint, towards your pursuer spamming X to stun. You'll stun them before they can kill you because they will be too far away due to the throwing knife.

Thanks for posting this video! It inspired me to use the animus hack streak after having NEVER touched it before and on the first session I used to try it out I beat my high score!
You have many different ways to do so. 1: Act like a computer-player in a crowd, with other copies of you, if he doesnt notice you, you can stun him. 2: Use glimmer or disguise, he might not notice you. 3: Try to get him running after you, wait on the corner, then run into him and stun. 4: Use smokebomb. 5: Get him to jump from a high platform/roof, so he can't do anything for 0,5 seconds while landing, then quickly stun him. 6: Use a knife to stun him. (Sometimes that's hard to do)
Actually, I was referring to what Loomer was saying about the animus hack in deathmatch. How you only needed to look for the 2 NPCs, and conclude that the rest were players. There are technically 3. (The indian, the elegant lady, and the Hunz looking character). I know he has very fast locking/reaction. It's from playing a lot. Most players from ACB have the same reactions.
It DOES have a defensive use, but it's more supportive then mute, Think your team is blending, all your pursers trickle out the same corner, you could throw wipe at them when they get closer, and your entire team could just charge in knife stunning mode, without having to worry about OSB, or anything else.
You're so good at this! I've been searching around for AC3 multiplayer tips, and you've helped me the most by far.
That really is an insane Streak, thanks for posting. I used the Animus Hack Streak back in ACR until I completed the related challenges and then never used it again because regular Streaks would, on average, still give you more points, but this... wow, this is something else. I know what I'll be trying out tomorrow!
usually the pursuer just walk straight at you and it gets pretty obvious, also use the whispers as a radar, and keep an eye on their left hand as it raises when they push the kill button. u can watch loomer's templar training ep.4 "hunting your hunter"
That would be great even a hour or so ahead of time would hopefully show up. I have enjoyed the frequent live streams so keep up the great work in that aspect and its understandable that its annoying to try and save them just didn't know how that all worked. But thank you either way loomer. Hope ill be their for the next livestream!
It's a DLC pack you can buy from UbiShop for about $5, it comes with those two playable characters as well as some single-player missions and other content.
Welp... a funny thing about the hack streak is, once the streak wears off, you can't interact with your target and pursuer. It is better than Revelations in terms of reward but it's a little bit more risky.
I've always noticed 3 NPCs... But there are occassions, that if there's only 7 players, and an 8th comes in and chooses a character that's an NPC, the game will rebuffer eventually, but not right away. I've seen it happen (Even recorded it...). I've even had a situation where two players were the same persona...

You don't want to stun people that aren't your target under any circumstances. I noticed he did it once in this game, it was on accident as he was trying to stun someone else he thought was his pursuer.
Great video and input. I'm no guru, but I notice Prestige Gods find the exponential scoring of Animus Hack the "Holy Grail" of AC3. In pursuit of the "8" stuns/kills teaches newer players very bad habits, especially in Deathmatch mode. Everyone seems to work on QUANTITY kills, versus QUALITY kills. This changes Deathmatch adding more chaos to the strategy of scoring quality kills in the closer/smaller boards. Hopefully, UBISOFT will work on equally matched player levels throughout matches/bouts.
In Deathmatch you don't have copies because there is no compass to help pursuers find their right target. You can create copies of yourself though with morph or blender.
You see the other players who you know are player via the menu or when you picked your own character, and when whispers get louder as another player who was not in the area steps into your line of sight, you come to a final conclusion about your pursuers. :D
I like that Hack streak. It actually seems like a viable bonus now.
if you are near a corner go around it and wait for your pursuer behind the wall, when he goes around the corner the stun will surprise him enough
You get honorable death from contesting a kill (hitting X [xbox] in time as someone tries to kill you). In order to stun someone with the throwing knife they cannot already have pressed the assassinate button. Obviously it's best to do it from a distance, but it can miss if you don't have the person targeted, and will bounce off walls and such (not AI though, it'll go through them) if your target is out of LoS. Then you have to stun them before the knife stun wears off and assassinate you.
there is a new streak called mass morph, when u get it everyone around u in a certain range transforms into ur duplicates
the montebank REALLY likes that spot...he was at the center of the map for the entire match even though it made him a sitting duck, lol.
i think the white outfits look sick for team based matches but in single player it makes you stand out more and die or get stunned more

You have to buy it as a kill streak and when you reach that number of kills it activates automatically. I love this streak.
That's interesting, I didn't notice that the strong man stayed as an NPC with the others even after the lobby filled up to 8. I wonder if that's because the match started with 7 players (hence 3 NPCs) or if there's something else going on.
By the way, I think Animus Hack is not over powered, because when the hack will be activated the other player will hear "Animus got hacked". So in other words they will be informed about it and can prepare themself!
Nah, I noticed that, but it's because the locking system is still weird, he locked onto the other character (But due to the 1 second wait before the x prompt appears), he hit x too quickly, and it boxed over the NPC. He was shifting too fast, but that's an easy mistake.

animus hack is a kill streak but it is a special kill streak that allow you to kill any body in the game even your persuers,targets and crowd from far away you dont have to be beside them and when you kill a pc you will be able to kill your target and enemy also , animus hack has limited time so rush for the kills :D

did any one else notice that in the beginning it said that he was level 50 and at the end it said that he was level 22?
Kind of found the answer to my question today. No one really fell for my decoy during my matches. I used it once or twice to fish or a lure, but players weren't taking the bait. I felt like after that I was better off switching to another ability.
AC Multiplayer was so cool.
Hey Loomer and fellow AC MP fans, what are your thoughts on Decoy? I just finished a match where I got a ton of milage out of Decoy, but I suspect that it's a lot harder to use in higher level play. It's nice when it works, you can get a lure and a stun for 300 points. And you don't have to guess who your pursuer is.
You're a pro when it comes to detecting pursuers. Should do an AC3 version video of it.
Agree with most here,leaving hack the way it is will almost be a gamebreaker,like you say ppl will have to start using it just so there not at a major disadvantage

Just try to walk at them after you threw your knives: their kill range is reduced while your stun range is not. If you just run at them you may risk to enter their kill range anyway.
I think what happened when you said you got screwed by the montebank is...you say later in the video that you can keep animus hacking if you hack a civilian, which i THINK is true, but I don't think it works on your actual target. If you notice, you hack an NPC pioneer, then your contract portrait (the montebank) goes gray, and it's like the game won't let you take action on him, even though you can keep hacking.
I THINK that's what happened.

Thanks for showing me how the animus hack works. Thought it was a single kill thing.
He did know who he was. he locked on to him even.. But there was a little lag in the lock working.. which made him kill an NPC.. I guess thats what happened. Loomer has very quick reactions and that worked against him due to lag in lock actually :P

Excuse me! If you haven't noticed hack and gun are not used very much at all! Maybe the reason you think this is because you have never played the game?
I have some questions for you Loomer: 1 what perks are u using? 2 why when i try to stun an enemy most of the times it ends up in a contested kill even if i am disguised or i use knives? shall i always be back to the enemy? you did a GG here. hope to see other videos maybe explaining what is the best perk or ability for you!

Regular - pros/cons Pro: any kill or stun works, con: takes 8 kills
Silent - pro: 6 kills, cons:all kills must be silent or better.
take the regular, may take longer but atleast all kills will count.
Thanks haha. I think the issue with me doing an AC3 version of my "spotting pursuers" templar training episode (which is I think what you're referring to) is that the content would be 95% the same. At that point I don't feel very motivated to retread old ground like that.
im sort of like half and half about it. cos its sort of like a feel good reward for getting that many kills but also it feels like it gives a massive advantage like you say
Thanks man! I just bought the silent one animus hack, and I was able to use it, but I only got a maximum of one streak every match.
Wow, thats one huge advantage with the animus streak when you get it. Will it be the new OSB/ poison x 2 that was being used by some players to get a score up.
Does anyone agree with me when I say that the Animus avatars having hidden blades is a bit unrealistic and pretty illogical?

Well haven't played AC3 yet, but two comments on the video: 1. This kill streak is complete nonsense (will it makes sense in the 'templar' story, but removes all game interest). 2. Why the hell don't you have any copy in a deathmatch ? IIRC, in AC2-MP, map was filled with player copies, and the whole point was to "detect" the right one, without any visual help to tell whether you were close or not to your target....
Love watching the ending cutscenes of "Most kills" or "longest kill streak" or whatever. Nice touch by ubisoft there
Any chance we could get a full upload of the live stream? I have been their for the last few but with YT subboxes being so screwy I didn't even know you were streaming until it popped up on my YT main page got excited went into the stream just to hear "okay thats about it I am done guys". No idea how long you were streaming but I would love to watch it.
there are maps where that happens, and other maps where that's impossible. like New York Brewery (deathmatch), in the second floor its impossible because of the ceiling, in the first floor there arent any spots where the pursuer could do that (at least i havent seen them.) in maps like virginian plantation, the trick doesnt work because of that
No problem bro ^^ If you jump from a roof into a hay bell and so does your pursuer, it's even easier to stun him than jumping regularly from a roof. Good luck trying these things. On what console do you play?

You have to stun them in good hiding place meaning suprise them.

It's actually not all that hard, when your in the situation it's just different, as long as you know how to spot them.

I am prestige 21 expert advice you should lock more to avoid contract suspension...
Kill buffer should make contested kills not reset the streak, that'd be much more balanced than what it is now.
Hi quick question from a pc-player. ive just discovered your templar training vids for ACR, and im learning some stuff that i didnt knew. Is there a lot of difference between ACR and AC3 in the mp that would discredit these tips?

I know that (that assassinating > stun in terms of priority) but when I knife people they I always get honorable death. So I guess what I'm asking is there, at any point in which the knife negates the pursuer to hit X/square - or was it that his pursuer in the video just didn't know what to do?

It is. In every way possible. The only reason I have a Ps3 instead is because all my friends have it, and I don't have the money to get a PC.

I got the silent animus hack once but forgot I had it as a perk, so by the time I realized I had it I had no idea how to use it and it ran out :( felt real bad.

Hey Loomer, I was wondering how can I stun my pursuers without smokebombs.. the only way I get them is around the corner trick and decoy. If you can help me it would be great to learn from the guy who makes Ezio look pathetic which is hard to do
Not sure if someone made this comment, nor do I mean it o sound bad, there are technically 3 NPCs. Not 2. But great gameplay (Saw the livestream :D). It's all about appearance. Use high areas for hacks. (Like a place you can hang from). That's the only time I'd suggest using a roof.

Yeah I've thought about this but I live stream a lot more frequently than I upload and I don't want my channel flooded with archived live streams. (Also, YT generally only saves 2 hours of a live stream and I usually stream for longer than that). I'll try to schedule them further in advance on RUclips and stuff though, hopefully that might help.
what are your perks ... one is kill buffer and the other is 8 kill streak . what else

Well,if the pursuer is smart enough he could jump from a roof-top,good advice though,very good advice.

And btw are you using the (i dont know how do you spell it) "bonus" that reduces only 1 point your combo when you die ?
I completely agree with you loomer. In revelations deathmatch, I did the same thing with animus hack lol. but I stopped using it eventually because you dont get much points for using it...
