We own a Jag E pace and our daughter has the Volvo XC 40. So i can compare and the Jag is a class higher and gives a more sporty feeling while driving.
Volvo XC40 is clearly the best compact luxury SUV in the market and like jag and other luxury brands, will create an image of its own in the future!!!!
Good review. For me the E Pace is much better, especially if you want a sporty car but with practicality. The p250 petrol automatic with added 20" wheels would be ideal
First of all, you're comparing a Jaguar HSE trim to the RDesign which is a lower trim of the XC40. You should be comparing the HSE to the Inscription XC40.
USB Type-C is the future plus the main reason for having it in the back is so you can charge a laptop. USB 2.0 can only provide 2.5 watts where Type-C can provide 100 watts.
...and at the end of the day, most of us watching these reviews will pull out our wallets and buy a 10 yr old used car which is not related to any of the reviews we watch. #DayDreamingIsGreat
Jag is heavier and slow.It is nowhere even near the volvo in terms of features and performance..just preferred because of it brand name ...Volvo with such cars will create a more premium brand image of its own !
Volvo D4 engine is a weaker engine. You can get better the D5 stronger engine. You should test D5 and then compare to Jaguar .... not really good comparison based on this
@ Movie Review, yes I drive hire cars often, so I've driven a lot of Volvo's. Don't get me wrong, they're good cars, I quite like the styling and the interiors are nice but as much as they like to think they are right up there with Audi. BMW, Mercedes (and Jaguar now running them close), they just aren't.
Interesting. Volvo was doing badly in Europe till it was bought over by the Chinese. Now it's getting more popular in Europe but not in Asia. In contrary, Jaguar wasn't popular in Asia till it was bought over by the Indians. Now it's getting more popular in Asia but not in Europe.
Volvo, I don't like two things on Volvo, one is gear stick, I would like to see there same like on mazda, second thing is display, I would prefer controlling same like in mazda. Otherwise its nice car, actually rear light could be more sporty, but the way they are is like volvo trademark. Nevertheless Volvo is the winner not only next to jaguar but for me over all rivals.
Volvo is still expensive, luxuriours but boring design and boring to drive imo but others may find it attractive. The Jaguar is rather heavy but is is interesting. However, not sure about reliability and long term costs. They had problems in the past. This model is on a RRE platform, with a zf gearbox which does awesome gearboxes. Not sure about the engine reliability. On my short list is the Mazda cx5 g194 which is decent and looks interesting, 33k€, and this Jag 250p which is 38k€ but unless they give me a discount of 5k + I'll probably take the cx5 which is hard to beat.
Did you just say Jag and Volvo has no demand? Think again... and look at the Roads when driving around anyway cars like these are not meant to sell in extremely large volumes but are catered for individuals that can afford them or what is called luxury car brands, think about it a sale of 5 of these could be the equivalent of sales of around 10 to 15 Toyotas.. And I bet you you would be hard pressed to find BMW, Merc, Audi, Range Rover, Jag, Volvo at the top of the sales list in numbers but guess what they still make more money then those at the top of the list, these cars are like 700k so selling 300 to 500 of them is an achievement. And if you think South Africans don't like or buy expensive cars then you are wrong because Volvo has sold around 200+ of these since launch, BMW sells a lot of 3series, X5, X6, 4 Series, 1series, Merc C class, Eclass etc and those aren't exactly cheap cars.
Hey Ciro great review, but plastic shopping bags are very last year, they really do kill our fish, and pollute our oceans, I will get you a cloth bag for your next shopping trip.
Yes! Another boring expensive SUV review. It's been a whole day since I've seen one. Can't wait to hear about the cubic volume of the boot and how many cup holders they have.....
No one uses USB-C? What year is this again? 😳Dude, buy a Samsung Galaxy S9. Heck, buy last year's model. Then let's talk. Theyre future-proofing, and the future's already here. Lots of USB-A around the xc40 anyway.
TeslaExposed New to the whole political part of the car scene huh? Holding companies are nothing new and that's all they do, hold other companies. Get over it
TeslaExposed Yes. Doesn't make it a chinese or indian company. Each car is still designed and engineered by their respective countries. It's not relevant who owns them.
SDav21 it’s relevant, most people who purchase a jag or Volvo is for reputation and status, it’s outright embarrassing to own a made in China or India car.
TeslaExposed It is NOT made in China and Jag is NOT made in India. It is MADE in Sweden and thr UK respectively. They are not MADE in the countries of their owners. DIFFERENT thing. Sorry for you.
I hate bullshit “they’re both winners” conclusions. Pick 1... most of us can buy and run 1 car, so we want to know which would be better. This was a completely useless video from this point of view.
ahmad zahin whaat? Feels like he praises the volvo more. Just saw the volvo this morning...not impressed with the interior...looking forward to check the jag

I wanted the jag to be better but I'm going to buy the volvo. So much nicer cabin inside
Don't you think you're driving the wrong XC40 against the Jaguar to talk about performance ... try the T5 😎
Facts plus the mode that its in
Volvo 🇸🇪 The winner takes it all!
RED BARON how tf do you have 1mil subscribers? Your videos don't even get 100 views!
RED BARON Volvo is Chinese crap
It was never a fair fight to begin with. Volvo's XC series is unbeatable.
though I will start doubting Chinese reliability.....All that glitters is not gold

James Freedman it's still pruduced in europe
this jaguar beats it
Volvo XC40 is clearly the best compact luxury SUV in the market and like jag and other luxury brands, will create an image of its own in the future!!!!
Jag, of course!
Volvo
why I always like cars that majority dislike, hm....
Both SUVs are great.
Both cars look good. Jaguar is really nice and I am enjoying mine
Good review. For me the E Pace is much better, especially if you want a sporty car but with practicality. The p250 petrol automatic with added 20" wheels would be ideal

Jaguar looks and drives so much better! Volvo is good value for money though.
jag all the way
I’m seriously considering the Volvo XC40 as my next car purchase in 2020, so naturally I say Volvo wins😁.
No ur just poor😉
Only 82 more days .....XC40
The XC40 for me all the way. Yes, its expensive but yes, you will have fewer chances of being hijacked.
And it just looks way too cool.
This was one of the best reviews of these two I’ve ever seen. Nice job
Completely agree. Very fair and lovely summary at the end. Top man.
Good and fair review. Jag for me.
Volvo is the best but in SA we have few supporting dealers.
Volvo all the way
Getting my XC 40 tomorrow, an amazing car, with Swedish excellence. 😄👍
Volvo is Chinese crap
gotta say I like the Baby Jag E-Pace
Volvo for the win!

Danilo Munhequete but then I know in 10 years which 1 I want. Haha
Danilo Munhequete nope ;))
Danilo Munhequete not all of us are poor LOL
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA YES
Jag!!!! More sporty & more fun !
Where's the jumper from mate?
Location is amazing, great review and between the two SUVs and buy what’s you can afford and either way you’ll be quite happy I’m sure.
jag all day looks much better and is much better
Jag is heavier and slow.It is nowhere even near the volvo in terms of features and performance..just preferred because of it brand name ...Volvo with such cars will create a more premium brand image of its own !
Nahhhhhh bruv
good review 👍🏼
Easily the best car reviewer in SA.
The Step Brothers line, lmao.
Last line summed it all
I LOVE VOLVO
Nice review, the E-pace' backseat looks more comfortable
Thank you for the video, I definitely will now buy Volvo over Jaguar
Volvo= king
Mmm... they future-proofed the USB and you can't understand why? Weird logic, but good review.
Difficult choice but Volvo because it’s never and better technology
Like them both!
Jaguar 🐆
Volvo D4 engine is a weaker engine. You can get better the D5 stronger engine. You should test D5 and then compare to Jaguar .... not really good comparison based on this
That Jag is definitely not 570 liters boot space.
E pace....
USB C is awesome bro!
lmao.."hello welcome to video".. and rest was history:')
Jag jag and jag.
I will have the Jaguar F-Pace SVR instead
I love volvo
Love the Jag, not surprised it’s much more expensive than the Volvo! Volvo’s always look ok, but they never look or feel upmarket.
have you been in a new volvo?
Peter haha sure mate!

volvo is peoples car but jagaur is brand power so it should be priced higher
The cars are very amazing but I don’t think they will sell good in South Africa where both brands don’t have a demand
Naeem Muhammad Volvo sold just over 250 XC40 in 3 months.

This dude looked and sounded like he couldn't care less about reviewing these cars. Find someone who actually has an interest in cars please.
Der Jaguar ist wirklich schön und der Volvo ziemlich ugly.
one of the worst review I have ever watched. for me, I think it was a biased review just because it's a jaguar.
ahmad zahin whaat? Feels like he praises the volvo more. Just saw the volvo this morning...not impressed with the interior...looking forward to check the jag
