Late diagnosed at 25. I have always tried to explain to my family and providers how debilitating world events can be for me. Even if it is not directly impacting me, I drown in the suffering of others. These past two weeks have been so hard

this seemed to help our (#2Spirit here) mother seem to grasp what we are going through with work is how much the Crown hides behind its own laws to justify injustices
every interaction we always have with our boss results in them committing more e word against us
they’re trying to end us with their own weaponized incompetence
our partner is not #indigenous and he understands… he also has #ADHD tho
this injustice being overstimulating thing is an #autism thing
he relates but doesn’t understand why it’s so hard for us to grieve it all out

Thank you for doing this. It’s difficult living in this fast news world. I have to temper my news intake. There are important things happening that we can’t ignore. It’s tough.

Yes!! This is why I went vegan 8 years ago, the same time I had my spiritual awakening. Nothing has been the same since because it hurts on a visceral level to contribute to harming beings as part of my job. I still haven't found a way to align my values with career. So under the weight of now "I know better" yet I'm part of the oppression of another being. Heartbreaking.

Same. Once you know about the suffering, it’s impossible to unkow it. It’s really one of the small ways we can help mitigate suffering. We’re so powerless to help suffering on the other side of the world.

I'm also vegan and I resonate and get extremely overwhelmed when I consider the awful abuses that humans heap upon animals in factory farms, slaughterhouses, testing labs, etc... and also to know how hard it is for humans to work in these environments too. These places actively kill physical animals, but they also kill the souls of people who work there. Being vegan, if more of us became that way, could do so much to eliminate or greatly reduce suffering on so many levels. It breaks my heart that veganism is, at this point, such a minority outlook. I hope this shifts dramatically in the future, that more people connect the dots and realize that until we stop commodifying animals, enslaving them, taking their lives, hurting them, we are never going to stop doing these things to people, either.

I used to put a lot of energy into political debates on social media. It was stupid, as even though I had solid arguments, people will not change their minds based on Facebook or twitter. If anything they will double down on ignorance. I probably lost a couple of friends because of my stances. So now I don’t bother and I am better off for it.

Thank you. Just because I do not show emotions does not mean I do not have them, and I rather resent the few people who have suggested to me that I do not.

I was 58 when I self diagnosed at the same time was youngest daughter was officially diagnosed. I am 60 now and those 2 years have been a whirlwind of self discovery. I have 7 cats of my own and care for 5 more, feeding them and getting them fixed. I watch and support a seal rescue here on RUclips that is based in Namibia. I love all animals SO much. Speaking of injustice, I feel incredibly angry about fake news that gets people believing in LIES and distracts people from what is really happening. That being said, I stay off of social media and am very selective about my news sources. It can be so overwhelming that I can’t function in my normal daily life because it worries me and if I wake up during the night my mind will automatically magnet to all of the awful things in the world I can’t change! My nighttime mantra upon waking during the night is ‘God is in control, go back to sleep’ and I whisper it over and over until I go back to sleep. I used to spend hours trying to research to help my extended family, because researching and finding truth is a passion for me, but over time they all began to resent my doing that. Even if I repeatedly told them the info I found was just to help and NOT something they had to do unless they felt lead to, but it eventually became something I had to completely stop. I don’t donate to anything to do with anything politically happening in our world. There is a world of hurt literally on my doorstep and I would feel so guilty to ignore what is local here. I also don’t trust what these organizations truly do with our money. Just like you said, ‘to show up fully in our own little corner of the world’, that is what I focus on. The things that suck joy out of our days is something I am very aware of, even though I know there is a season for everything under the sun. I have Spotify music playlists that I keep playing in the background almost daily. It is instrumental jazz and 1940’s happy, romantic music (who doesn’t love Nat King Cole?!) and it keeps a baseline of good mood. My music instantly helps me to breathe when I am stressed out. So much good conversation here. Wished I could’ve caught it live!

I support Palestinians but I refuse to watch the footage or look at the pictures ... my cousins keep posting pictures and I am about to mute them. I get that people need to spread awareness but already the little I've seen has made me so anxious. In the last few months I've been trying to work up the courage to wear hijab but when that 6yr boy was stabbed in Chicago it made me so scared for my son, and I know that's exactly what they want ... it's not a productive sort of anxiety at all.

I'm with you for sure. At the end of the day, I don't think stuff like that needs to be posted. If nothing else, there needs to be a filter that blurs it all out so it's completely optional to look at. Maybe that's a thing (I don't have much for social media anymore because of stuff like this), but muting people is probably better, unfortunately.

This video is amazing. I found your channel a few days ago, and the chart on Common Autistic Traits in Women - that's like 85% true for me. I'm 50 and have suspected I might be on the spectrum for several years, but your information makes me more confident in my self-diagnosis. I've masked so long and so thoroughly that I didn't even know that's what it was. I thought people were just teaching me how I was "supposed" to be. While I started to revisit my special interests a few years ago (as my kids were in high school and needed less direct attention), I'm starting more behavioral unmasking work now.
For the last few years, I've really struggled with feeling all the injustice in the world. I believe strongly in forgiveness and not hating, but that belief is at odds with all the anger, frustration, and sadness I feel about the injustice that seems like it's everywhere and unremitting. I worried that I was such a bad person because I had all these "bad" feelings, but your video makes me realize that this is a normal response for who I am.
I really appreciate your processing and crying during the video - it helped me get to my own sadness too. I'll likely come back to this video when I need that kind of help.

Yes, yes, yes to so many of your experiences relating to how you/your body deals with injustice. I feel it to the core like it’s happening to me.
Often when I see injustices I will go into research mode to find out the ifs and why’s of a situation. It helps me feel more confident in my view if it’s well rounded and backed up by facts, not just my emotions.
The current world situation is a mix of several of the things I have researched and it’s hitting me hard at the moment with all the gaslighting that is going on.
Add to that I hate confrontation/conflict as even though I’m well researched I have a hard time articulating what I know when I perceive someone as a threat.
I so want to stand up for injustice but I have to rely on sharing others posts as an easier way to show where I stand and support the oppressed.
I hope this makes sense 💜

I started making memes on a platform where nobody knows me and I can broadcast my feelings without judgment and this actually helps me deal with the noise. I grew up in Canada and have a strong commitment to reconciliation and I am proud of the philosophy our time and place is creating and progressing.
Have you read any Francis Bacon? He described the "Four Idols of the Human Mind" and I reflect on these when immersed in a political landscape to remember the human nature underpinning it. The idols of the tribe, den, market, and theatre (#40-44 in his list if you find it online) help me reason.
My heart goes out to your daughter and her empathy and justice. 🙏💕

I tried posting a link to a song from a band that has really helped me process complex emotions when I'm alone, not sure if it will show up here so the song is: "love letters to god" by Nahko and Medicine for the People. I hope it helps someone out there too when your heart is breaking. 🦋

Cognitive Dissonance is unhealthy for society. An injustice ignored by an autistic, in my opinion, shows a certain amount of narcisism in the face of having injustices done to you, or your own "group". If a person is unable to show empathy tpwards an injustice, especially if that person is representing a grouo which see's injustice done to the entire "group" on a scale of which in this day age, almost no ohter group see's, then it is not only narcissistic but also hypocritical. That is borderline psychotic, in the sense of having a lack of empathy.
What is God's law of karma?
The great law or the law of cause and effect
According to this law, whatever thoughts or energy you put out, you get back - good or bad. In order to get what you want, you have to embody and be worthy of those things. It's the concept of what you reap, you sow.
