This is why I love your channel Kenan! Seeing how animals are sometimes treated when they are looked at as food hurts but it's good to see people like you return them to their natural habitats! Keep up the amazing work man!
Its sad to see people not following the law and kenan i really happy with what your doing to help with the wild life and i would love to be able to do the same in my home Australia
Keep up the good work Kenan. My brother and me took in a red eared slider. The previous owner never put it in water for a year. It pretty much went into a dormant state and didn't do much that whole time. Poor thing was all fucked up and was probably going to die soon. This turtle must be really freaking tough to have survived that long with next to no water/food. When we got it... It didn't even know how to swim. It took a year later for it to remember how to swim and now it's a really great pet. It's not shy anymore either and always wants to come up to us. I know red ears are super common and don't need a rescue nearly as much as other species do but still... I'm glad we saved a suffering animal anyways... We keep her in a big cattle tank that's 300 gallon out back now : )
you obviously don't know much about turtles. red eared sliders can grow from 3 inches too about 12 inches big and some even bigger! and they grow pretty fast
@@kenjiro2676 tanks can go to be pretty huge so idk what you are complaining about like the original commenter has a 300 gallon tank that by no means is small for one turtle
As a Korean, I'm surprised to see softshell turtles in a Korean market. As far to my knowledge, Koreans normally don't eat turtles, plus I have never seen turtles in any Korean market where I live. Also, every Korean I've met in my life had never eaten turtles sometime in their lives. Anyways, I'm glad that you rescued those turtles from a terrifying death since I myself love turtles.
@@bilalgarcia2543 Yeah but today not anymore. So what surprised me was the fact that turtles were sold in a 21st century Korean market. If it was in the 1960’s then maybe I can believe it a little.
Wow, truly amazed at how beautiful they are....I cannot understand how someone could ever eat such a beautiful creature. So grateful for NJFW for helping free these animals. Thank you so much KK! It's a good day 💗👍🏻
Kenan,I once stopped traffic on a main highway here in Watertown,NY to assist a snapping turtle out of the middle of the road.I was afraid he/she was going to snap at my hand but I realized their neck wouldn’t stretch that far,so I picked up and brought it to the side of the road it was walking towards,I put it way in the tall grass.People were actually happy and thanking me as I walked back to my car. It was a good feeling to save a life!
Florida softshells have the temper of a snapping turtle and the defensive odor of a skunk. There's at least two musk glands located between the cervical and marginal sections of their carapace, and those things will literally squirt out a jet of stench that will not easily wash off. Many years ago, I rescued an enormous female the size of a serving tray, off the road. When I lifted her up I witnessed two fine streams shooting off, reflected against the sun, about 2 feet in front of her. I didn't get hit, but the air stunk really bad.
I hope that they dont have any weird captive fungus or something on them that could decimate the natives. I live in FL and I love our natives! They were probably quarantined somewhere along the way..Not to rain on the parade. Nothing cooler than being able to help these wonderful native creatures. Wow they are big I was concerned about releasing so many until I realized they are packed one to a container. Not so many just big beautiful ones!!
That is so beautiful Kenan you’re doing a great job with the animals I wish there were more people like you I wish I could be there to help I love turtles have a great day my dear
Kamp kenan much respect for the rescue. I live here in northern cali and have seen some bad things people have done . Love it when things end like this. I my self have rescued animals that i have purchased due to poor living conditions. Thanks for what you do to preserve our reptiles n animals.
Swiggty i litterly read something today, saying that some chinese eat monitor lizard penis as they think it gives them good luck, and they are digging up mammoth fossils to ground up their ivory instead of elephants, not sure if that last part is a good thing or a bad thing.
Government only really cares if theres any illegal harvesting going on, but the wildlife agencies are so strapped that they can't do their job of enforcing wildlife laws.
Awesome job on another rescue love your videos keep up the good work I'm a turtle lover myself and love what you do your awesome congrats on helping the native wildlife give yourself a pat on the back you deserve it
They really need to be quarantined after being in a food market before risking the wild populations. A private pond would be better. Did Florida fish and game agree to release them upon delivery?
You and him are true hero's, Screw people's sensibility s but fighting for a species survival is much more important than Fighting in Iraq so rich people can have oil...
Hi Kenan you are truly amazing I have never seen any thing like it The kindest man I have ever seen I will contribute to your cause Take Care Lovely Man well done Barbra. U K
Hoo hoo Sweet! You dot want to pen them at your place couple weeks to moniter and get a full belly first? Some peanuts are made from corn starch disintegrate when wet . But in case of moist turtles......
hi Kamp Kenan I have a single male Russian tortoise and right now he does not have the best enclosure set up.I saw your videos of zoo med and I saw there tortoise house,it seemed small.would one work for a adult male for lifelong.should I use a big cement tub,my rooms small and I don't have very much room at all.Whats the smallest dement ions I can have for a tortoise enclosure?I would go big but my room is very small and I share a room.I would love hear back from you, thanks -hailey m
Great work. I'm sure that these animals were health checked so as not to introduce pathogens into wild populations. Ranavirus, chytrid and other infections can be transmitted by turtles and infect some species. It is really important that the public hear about the potential terrible effects of wildlife diseases, otherwise the good that well meaning people do may be devastating.
Some of the Asian markets in Maryland/DMV area have a bunch of live soft shell terrapin (all piled together in on cooler w/ sores all over their bodies) and lot of live frogs tied up in bags sitting on ice blinking at you. It's sad =(

Thanks for saving those Beautiful babies.God bless you.

Its good to keep them in stock tanks. Why keep them in tanks? They are so small

Very dope. I'm glad they all have a chance to live now. Big, beautiful turtles swimming around like they should be! Good job to everyone involved!

food bruh shut the fuck up xD
are you saying cows, pigs, and chicken and fish aren't beautiful animals?
Chelly D. Any animal is beautiful. However nature states we must have a food source from somewhere
Well Chelly D. No one said that actually. Your the one bringing it up.
If you want to claim keanen said it then you clearly don’t watch his videos.
Unfortunately Asians are responsible for so many species going extinct in this world.

I really appreciate your approach to discussing consumption of animals that aren’t included in the American diet. Much respect man
Awww that's brilliant thank you both for saving these beautiful animals.
Crying tears of joy after watching this! THANK YOU!!!
I can't stand it when I see turtles for sale as food, I just can't see them as a food source
Beautiful. Thank you for helping them!!
I couldn't help but laugh when hes scooting them along with his foot, like they're something he's trying to brush under a rug.

Im glad to see the turtles back in nature, but I have to wonder how they taste since all that trouble was taken to get them to NJ.
They really need to be quarantined after being in a food market before risking the wild populations. A private pond would be better. Did Florida fish and game agree to release them upon delivery?

That 2nd one was stunning!!
It's hard to wander too far into the Florida wilderness without coming across a body.
No dislikes! Good job!!!
Every large Asian market in California has various live frogs, turtles, etc. Saw a bunch of soft shells just a few weeks ago.

Thank you for saving them. They're endangered.
