Your little pup is extremely tolerant! Very cute too, my favorite breed.
Moin,
Du gehst super mit den Hunden um und hast wundervolle Hunde!
Endlich ein Video, auf dem man das Stripping genau erkennen kann.
Danke....shine on!
Super Filmchen und sehr ausführlich vorgeführt und dazu ,,,,,, endlich mal ohne die nervige Musik in Dauerschleife . Danke ❤
Your dog is delightful. He's very handsome and good natured. I wish you both many years of joy:)
I have a female parsons and am really impressed with how wonderful your dog looked. Both your dogs are stunning! Thank you for a great video, I enjoyed it very much.
Wow, he is such a good boy.
Hypnotic video.
Your dog is an angel. Mine isn't going to sit still for this. He has a very thick, wavy coat which I don't mind but his paws get curly and look messy plus attract dirt. So I guess I will attempt this soon but it's going to take a lot of patience with my little beast.
It would be more helpful if you would explain what you're doing while you're in the process.
It's halfway between smooth and rough coated.
Broken coated means, the coat is smooth but also long and the dog has a beard.
Thank you, Ted :)
I use a knife with a fine blade.
What a cool video!! What kind of camera did you use?
I have to trim Tino every 6 weeks, then he looks like in the video!
Danke! :)
Thx :)
I used my Canon EOS 7D :)
Usually you use a table to trimm a dog, but then I couldn't have film it, so I had to do it on the floor ;)
I use this knife:
futterareal.eu/Hundewelt/Pflege-Gesundheit/Fellpflege/Trimmer-Scheren/Karlie-Trimmmesser-in-historischer-Form-Feine-Zahnung::26417.html
And no, it doesn't hurt the dog, I just drag the dead hairs out ;)
I've never seen someone trim a dog like this before...what kind of brush/tool are you using to do this with? Does this hurt the dog at all? Thanks for the info :)
It falls on the ground, no towel or something like that,... as you can see in the video ;)
Just sweep/ vacuum the hair up after grooming ;)
This is cutting the old coat NOT stripping or pulling out the dead hairs. It still leaves two layers of coat!
How did i get here
Doesn't the hair fall all over the place? Do you put a towel underneath? Thank you for this video....
bet he feels better after this ,
Beautiful dog! What does "broken-coated" mean, and exactly what is done when you use the stripping knife? I see from previous comments that it is not cutting, but removing loose hairs? Why can't that be done with a brush, as it is with some other breeds?
Thanks :)
A broken coated Russell is a dog whose coat is a combination of both a smooth coat and a rough coat. This means that some patches of the body will have short, smooth hair, and other areas will display longer, wiry hair in combination. The mixture is usually around 50-50, but this can vary greatly from dog to dog.
Exactly, it's no cutting. You need to pluck or pull the hairs/remove the dead hair so that new can grow.
If you cut the hair off, dead hair shafts remain in the skin and new growth will be uneven, the dog will always look unkempt.
+Julia Bettendorf What kind of stripping knife do you use and is there a link I can order from? :)
Julia - your Jack Russell is beautiful!
I have to ask - is your stripping knife coarse, medium or fine? I have a JRT with a mixed broken coat and fine coat, and don't know which stripping knife to buy.. Your comments would be appreciated
Actually, JRT are shorter then PRT, but there are two clubs in the UK that breed PRT under the name JRT, because originally JRT und PRT were one and the same breed and these two clubs retain the original name of the breed.

(Hope you can understand, because it's even difficult to explain in german... but in english...^^)
I have a Jack russell terrier female and this video learn me something to trimming her:) Very good video!;)
What are lovely dog. Mine looks really similar. :-)
Uwe Stark das Messer ist von Karlie und hat eine feine Klinge.
You're welcome :)
Hallo,
mich würde mal interessieren welches Trimmmesser Sie nutzen?
Hello, Hope you can advise me. I have a female Parson Russell Terrier with a broken coat. Her hair is much longer then your dogs. Her hair on her back is about 3-4 inches long. She also has a long tuff like a Gremlin on the top of her head and some hair that is about 1/2 inch on her ears. The hair on her sides and underside is short and she has a little uneven hair on her legs and feet, long tail with feathers. She sheds a lot. I would like to know the proper way to groom her and make her look kept. What do you suggest?
Hey, thanks for your message, have you watched my second video about trimming a Russell?
You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/xL1DVksWmrA/видео.html
I also have a video about grooming without a tool, just with your hands: ruclips.net/video/3zZjREXfoxg/видео.html
Where can I find this particular knife?

You're video would have been perfect if you explained what you were doing.I have just bought a broken coat and have no idea how to groom him,and I still don't now.
I know, I'm so sorry! I actually wanted to do that, but then I was too shy and didn't know what to say... here's another video I made, still not talking, but I'm sure it'll help you: ruclips.net/video/xL1DVksWmrA/видео.html
No cutting! I pull out the dead hairs.
I'm doing this for years and believe me, there is no cutting.
The dog in the video is 7 years old and he's trimmed every 6-8 weeks. His coat woulnd't look like that if I would cut it.
Ay! pobre santo!!!
Hi ! Where can i buy the comb and the razor that you are using ?
Hi ! I have question , my jack Russel look same as yours but he doesn "t have long hair on head ,his head looks like Smooth skined jack russel. On the back he has almost a same hair length so I cannot decide is he smooth skined jack russel or Broken coated . So my question is can jack russel be broken coated if he doesn" t have beard ? :D tnx
A broken coated Russell always has a beard. If there's no beard, it's a smooth coated Russell.
+P!nkPirate Thank you for answer , because his hair is falling a lot and i use furminator but it looks like it doesn"t help. So i don"t know if smooth coated jack russels can be trimmed or stripped like broaken coated. Thank you for the answer :)
+Alen Grgos yeah that's normal, smooth coated dogs are always shedding their coat :/
bathe him and try a rubber brush.
Hi - do you use a coarse or fine blade?
A fine blade.
They mean the hair isnt straight but goes to all sides. Correct me if im wront
what a good dog, mine would be shaking and wining if i tried to groom him!
the comb is flea/ lice comb from the vet and the razor isn't a razor, it's a stripping knife.
don't cut the coat, you have to pluck off the hair.
That looks so painful. I can imagine he’s used to it and that’s why he sits fine but honestly it looks dreadfully painful to pull out hair that way
You don't talk to the dog. Or explain what your doing or why. I find this very strange. Do an update with a voice over. Go see "Girl With Dog".
Adorable!
my dog looks like your yours and he does the same never sit still

I just comb mine with a furminator. I thought Parsons breed standard was completely white body.
Looks too rough
