Man, I never knew Loki could shred like that!
+jcage #awsomness look up god of fire by man o war
someone get this man a guitar
Cameron Byfield Violin is so much better than guitar. guitars are lame
Cameron Byfield anyone can play the guitar
😂
So is music. When you're a musician, you get really into your music. Just creating and playing it will give you a high like no other.
This dude was amazing. Picked up the violin like 3 weeks ago, and haven't regretted nothing.
His violin sounds beautiful and the way he get passionate about the music evolving in his hands makes it majestic.
Tomllling I'm a professional violinist, Ive been playing for over two decades and something I've noticed is that usually the better someone is the more eccentric they are. This is some of the best playing I've seen, so who cares if he's completely nuts! He's amazing at what he does!
He is unbelievable his style is so unique!
Saw him on 14th St. in New York I have been obsessed ever since then!
People who can't relate to pure genius often cop out by calling it 'insane'...no, it isn't insane, it is just being able to express intense feelings on a very high level. On Independence Day, this is a great performance, you can hear all the problems & frustrations this nation has had to deal with from the very start! Bravo!
"When I was young, I always wanted to be in a metal band. But my parents bought me a violin."
At 0:12 & 0:16+0:17, you can see his distorter in the far right, amp+distort, where you can adjust how the pitch 'flow's from the violin, giving the auditory 'illusion' of an electric guitar.
now this is a guy who ENJOYS/LOVES what he does best and lives off it...now that's a career
He doesn't just break the rules, his violin does too. I've never seen even an electric violin like that. Man that shit is beastly.
He was probably forced to play violin but always wanted to become a guitarist, so he combined the two and became A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! O.O
No, but seriously, this is insanely good :OO
the only thing more powerful than his music skills is the hilarity of the crazy metal-insane jig he's doing while he plays the sang
Hardcore Legendary!....I hope to be able to play the violin like this guy one day.
That's good! He's a heavy metal violinist.
I...I would download this. So many times. In a row.
love his great passion that isn't insane. if you have heart for everything you will enjoy it, no matter what people look at you. he is enjoy in his own world!
This man should do a violin battle or duet with Lindsey Stirling. It would be so good that it'd R18+ XD
@Llynok The fact that not all people can enjoy this kind of music is what makes it this special. You know what would happen when the 'normal' people got a hold of this music.
I actually quite like his style. He don't give a shit about rules and plays the way he likes, indulging himself. Much more entertaining and interesting than many so-called professional violinists !
This guy would make an AWESOME addition to any power metal band..... or any metal band, period!
lol I like how you said "breaking all possible rules written down for the instrument" haha. Awesome performance and his electric violin is totally decked out!
2021 and I'm still here
rock solid classical training, especially apparent in his right hand
the guy's making a tame, classic violin into a hardmetal rock beast! O.O
My ears aren't bleeding nearly enough. [turns speakers up higher, plays again]
@justbolla It sounds like he is running it through a guitar pedal board. I hear echo, reverb, distortion, flanger at 1:54, phaser after that... They don't show his feet so I can't tell if he is hitting buttons, maybe his sound man does it for him.
Seriously! That part he plays @ 00:58 is on another plane of sound and thought entirely
MAN!!! He shredded the hell outta that thing. I'm watching again XD
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! his movements are kinda frightening but its cool the way hes expressing his playing
awesome music. i'm lucky enough to work near Union Square and i see him about twice a month there playing in the subway.
you can't sustain infinitely on a guitar.
so that being said, this is truly epic
great man.........why dont we all make this guy an artist.....
Sick as hell...he needs to be on stage in front of thousands
Not sure if the crowd is bored or just SPEECHLESS!
He definitely enjoys music
thats what passion looks like
Now I need an electric violinist for my symphonic metal band.
this guy is simply AMAZING !!!!!! he shudnt b on the streets he shud b in a frikkin metal band kickin ass n blowin ppls minds on stage never seen sumthin so wiked in my life !!!!
He's talented. He really enjoys playing violin.
I love that !!
MOST KICK ASS HEAVY METAL VIOLONCELIST ON THE PLANET!!KLOVE HIM,,LONG LIVE SCHULMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WISH THE BEST FOR FUTTURE!!!
what...its beautiful...
I love the dragon head he has in place of the scroll!!
Dude...that guy's violin is shaped like a dragon and has freakin' lights on it...sweet.
I love the dragon's head on that violin, instead of the scroll.
racket? dude this is pretty frickin sick, look im all for classical music but we gotta push the envelope sometimes. i think the more kinds of music you learn to get a taste for, the more fulfilling it is.
I saw this guy in grand central playing britney spears baby one more time with this violin with lights. AMAZING.
this song gave me shivers down my spine at 0:54
now this song is fucking awsome, i can feel the soul thats in it,
@2007wesman He's obviously fairly proficient on his instrument, I was just pointing out that shredding it out and making cool noises with distortion isn't as difficult as it appears. Especially in comparison to true classical tecnique, which I'm sure you can understand.
michael shulman one of the legends of violin!
@UnitTheWorld Because It doesn't sound like a guitar, it sounds like exactly what it is: an electric violin with effect pedals.
Shulman is absolutely fantastic violinist...
He is amazing!! I love the passion and heart that he puts into his performance. It's a shame that the people around him were to dull to understand artistry! Very cool to see the violin played in a "Rock" style...very cool!
@Dosagia what an amazing crackpot! really like the way the audience take it all in their stride, mad mad mad brilliant!
Wow, my expectations were blown away. Sounds awesome.
He's making the sounds with his mouth while playing the music. It's not weird, I do the same thing while I play my guitar. He's just really into what he does and I don't blame him
Insane could also mean extreme, talented and various other positive things...especially when talking about music.
@IgoOrLee Agreed! He's great and his violin rocks!
that electric violin is one of a kind as far as I am concerned. never seen one like it before.
How the hell can the people in the background be completely straight-faced!?!? I swear, my mouth and eyes would be dry from his awesomeness!!!! xD
This guy is awesome. I am impressed how it sounds that violin. Surely it deserves a congratulations. Although I doubt can do something similar with the acoustic. Greetings!
this guy needs to be in a folk metal band
He was born to do this .
Imagine this guy on tour with Ed Alleyne Johnson... man I would give a kidney to watch this...
1:49 ! Dude, I dream of Playing that on even a guitar.
The violin itself looks totally awesome aswel
Very very cool. I kinda wish he had a black carbon fiber bow to go with his look. And it's unfortunate that his amp or the camera can't pick up all of his notes starting at 0:40. He's hitting 'em, just the sounds not working with the instrument. Really cool looking electric violin, too.
Yeah, breaking all the rules...like the first one: Play in Tune!!
Get this guy a contract quick stat
And they said i'm mad because i want a violin, a great amp and a distortion box..
i cannot beleave what i just heard i even spelled beleave wrong.
i think his name is michael schulman, ive seen a couple of videos of him,hes a badass.
He's...He's...it's real?!
He is unmatched...he's the best.
So much passion, incredible
SICKASS VIOLEN !!! i have never seen one like that
this guy reminds me of mr. Mark wood the first heavy metal violin player with his home made double neck violin. he release his first album voodoo violin in the 90's...thumbs up for you...nice play....people who comment bad things about you are the one who does not want to accept the reality the world of violin are now changing. try to play a distortion with a violin and try to play them clean....mark wood and this guy here cannnnnnn......
OMG... this is INSANE, SKILL AND TALENT FTW
do all the other people watching not realize what awesomeness that is!!
to play like that in other words to play modern style, belive me he has to know how too play a clasical violin verry well, violin is one of the few instruments where you need whole lots of effort to play it well.
this is Michael Shulman, a true talent
and he can't drop it because it is on a strap around his chest
Never thought I would see someone jam on a violin. I was wrong.
i love his VIOLIN ! AWESOME !
This is just incredible. Pure talent.
"I'm not really sure what to do with my legs..."
He's Michael Shulman (youtube channel ShulmanMusic), i believe.
Lost guitar = rampage on the violin
@Llynok or maybe this is the fifth time they hear him play this, during one hour - he's awesome and it sounds great, audience just tend to get unimpressed if they hear a broke record, even if its a good one.
The start's rather deceiving, this is actually damn good~
Great technique, great instrument, great character. ;) He's got everything that Hero has to posses. :))
This guy is the Jason Becker of violin. He even looks like him!
I play violin myself ( though not even clse to what he's doing.) I really hope someday I can play like that. He's awesome!!!
thats tiny tim... he's back!!!
Michael Shulman
the song is Spartan Glory
Wow...what a brilliant violinist
Yes it is Michael Shulman
staring in amazement
he's like the jimmi hendrix of violin, all hail to the violin GOD!
That was awesome! I really want to get a dragon violin now!!!
