"we don't pull out, we stay in"
spoken like a true king. lmao
Yes please make that video👍👍👍👍
You guys are such an inspiration! I’m ready to start like last year! 😩😩😩 help me out Bennii
On Big Tex, which I have, there is a lip on passenger side under trailer all the way down, except where wheels are. I put my hooks between rub rail and deck and attach my hook onto that. Reason being, if I ever get side swiped or do it myself, there's little to no chance my strap gets cut which could unsecure my load and have it all over the street. I've heard, not sure at all, that if it becomes unsecure and investigation shows you were wrapped on outside then that's on you that you lost the load. Not sure because I don't know if EVERY trailer has rub rails or the lip to hook to on the bottom.
I was gonna say the same
My diamond C has c channels on both sides.
Mann that's so damn cool to work with ya pops fr. Yo pops super laid back and str8 foward
My gooseneck hitch is rated 30k so I can scale up to 20k on my trailer ( which I never do)
5th wheel hitch is only rated up to 25k. When ur truck and trailer weights up to 19k lbs + the gooseneck allows for you to still scale up to 20k lbs. this is important especially when trying to get your own customers to work with.
I attach my emergency brake switch to the same spot where I attach my chains. I’ve had a lot of inspections and not once has an officer dinged me for it . Not to say it won’t happen… I have a B&W gooseneck setup on my truck
At 13:00 I understand your logic behind that but if you keep them on the driver side and you hv one come loose and you cant get off the highway far enough then you are way closer to the traffick "crazy drivers" so if thier on the passenger side then its safer to get out on the highway to fix it. And as far as seeing it thru the mirror you can move your mirror as your driving to see the straps especially in a dodge with them big ass mirrors lol just my lil opinion...
Yes sir! Welcome back
Another great video, thanks bud
Delaware my home town
Just my opinion on the straps after running flatbed for 5 years. The reason you don’t run straps outside the rubrail meaning the strap material is in case you get up against something the strap under tension will tear very easily. Just my opinion and thanks for the videos I’m looking into starting my own hotshot after 7 years otr for companies.
Yes sirr we out here 🤘🏾💰
Fifth wheel better for me!
Gotta have a routine on everything it makes everything faster
Do you know if dot officers will get you if your truck is missing certain emissions parts? That will determine if I have to get a different truck right away. Thanks!
The first day back after a vacation is always rough. Hats off to you from Wash DC.
Great stuff bro, better safe than sorry. Keep grinding fam 🤞🏾
Always grinding
Benny make a video on how to book partials all going one way would love to know how to do I got on the app DAT and just trying to figure out how to book going all one way
Great content as usual I'm still omw I'm driving a F750 2 car tow truck now to get my experience up
Them brokers man 😂 did my first water load for a broker with 5star rating . Dude said easy pick up and delivery . Spent 3 hours to get loaded and then drove to receiver and waited another 6 hours to get unloaded . Dude paid me dentition time . So id gladly do it again but spoke to a friend of mine that does the same load “new to the game” doesn’t get no detention pay , they underpay him for the load AND they don’t even have a scheduled delivery they just say they do 🤐
Good video HSB. "NASCAR DRIVER "
We don't pull out we keep in 🤣🤣🤣🤦 you mad funny
Fifth wheel is a lot more stable than goose ball. You’ll love the fifth wheel setup. Also when your needing to belly wrap and your straps not long enough you can use a chain or by strap extenders. If you check my oversize video from Washington to Ohio you can see how the chain is used as a strap extender.
@12:56 bad advise. If you ever need to jump out and re-secure your load and you place the tension or binders on the driver side , now your body is in closer to traffic and you are sandwiched between a trailer a lane carrying traffic. If you do it on the passenger side you have a 14k+ lb trailer and it's cargo as buffer for if some one side swipe your trailer.
Always think safety, that means a reflective vest, some type of buffer between you and the idiots in cars that are zooming by at 60+ mph
btw @15:22 we people from Louisiana call it's "she-Reev-port" Louisiana, that the proper pronunciation . Let it flow off your tongue and you will sound about as normal as you can sound ;)
My diamond c trailer has the sliding ratchets on the driver side. I don’t have that option but I get what your saying. It’s deff safer being on passenger side of the truck and trailer.
@@joebrings5817 that might be the case on your trailer, but on our Big Tex the winches are on the right. Same as in most flatbeds for 18 wheeler. You can always use pocket stake winches and drop them on whatever side for trailers that have stake pockets. I always try to secure chain, straps on the passenger side to keep you out of the flow of traffic. I've seen too many close calls and we had a tow truck driver a few years back that got paralyze when a car crashed in to him when he was operating the rollback from operator controls on the driver side.
lesson learned, if he was on the passenger side he might would have got bumped by truck when the VW bug collide & hit truck . So you always use the truck or in his case the trailer as a buffer.
With these crazy and fast furious drivers you have to be safe.
Those rails are to protect the straps. If you put them outside the straps can wear down and pop.
I feel you on the securing the wood bro. But your wife comment was more to the picture. She was right, with just 1 down the middle it can damage the structure of the actual frame of that crate. The tension you applied in a very long trip & crappy roads could of caused the wood to snap. Was my conclusion on why it had happen to me. A week later a take the same 1,600 mile trip and I applied front & back straps of that specific crate with not so much pressure. No issue then. Safe travels
Keep it up Benni. I moving out of hotshot to w900 with step deck. Been fun
Step deck !!
@@truckingwithbennii Is that what y'all think behind that Peat or something else or don't know yet?
My vacation started today, 18 days off, time to make that money...I did my tarp like that today, it was hot as hell 😂
Also, My break away switch I bolted a D ring to my bed next to my safety chain to keep it separate.. oh and did you find anything out about the husky straps? Im still running them
That city still kickin yo ass I see lol. It’s Shreeeev-port 🤣🤣
I disagree on the location of the ratchet side. I feel the ratchet side needs to be on the the passenger side of the load. Simply because people don't like to get over on the highway. You see a loose strap and get out you're on the highway side trying to tighten and have to rush and worry about traffic in a busy area. The woodline side as I call it, there is no need to rush or worry about dumb asses that don't get over when they see you.
Gooseneck ball. Not ball hitch lol your killing it with the content. Keep them videos coming
What kink of Fifth wheel is that I’m kind of interested in getting a fifth wheel
My guy i was shown your video and I'm a little confused on two things. 1st on how you explained your ratchets. They should not be on the drivers side due to safety of the driver. You can see anything from the passenger side as well as the driver and secondly when your girlfriend was trying to tell you to secure the wood you tried to validate why you should not yet ended up going back to secure it. Recon be video. I'm not knocking you just be sure on what your saying.
Check out CDL life youtube channel on his reasoning for putting your securement on the drivers side . Not like theres a wrong or right way . Sometimes you have to put them on both sides . And I went back and tied it down after reevaluating the finished look Which in the end I should have did what my girl suggested
@@truckingwithbennii Your belly wrapping reason was right, however, you still had to secure the wood also. And it seem as if you did it.
What song was that?
They're both about the same to me the reason I prefer a ball is because the fifth wheel is just to big and takes up your bed now if you hv a work truck and personal truck and all u used the work truck for is pulling then that's fine it really dont matter but if you only hv one truck then when you are not pulling the trailer then you still got that big ass 5th wheel in your bed lol just my lil opinion
Yes it can be attached to the coupling system it just can't be attached to the chain
I never heard of that . I was always told separate from the coupling system
@@truckingwithbennii I've been in business for three and a half years Hotshot I got a Ford F350 2019 I bought brand-new when I started I got 309 thousand miles on it I know your dad's been in it longer than me I was just wondering how many miles you think he can go in his truck before he's got to get another one
Can't be on any part of coupling system. Why? Because if coupling system its attached to fails and comes apart (from truck) the emergency brakes will not engage because it is still hooked up, so the pin won't pull out. If attached separately when the trailer goes, pin will be pulled!
At 15:15 just say she-rev-port lol it just rolls off your tongue benni😁🤷♂️
I’m not subscribed …. This has some really good info and entertainment… why would someone dislike Benny ….? Keep grinding … be safe out there …
Why not subscribe?
Why not just subscribe I mean it only helps the channel and nothing on you? Jw
Who do I call to be a driver got years experience in a box truck
Benniihotshot
When you sleep in your truck do you keep it running? Or is it off? If it's off how do you not die in the summer?🤣 Thanks for the vids
I run a generator in the bed of my truck connected to a stand up ac unit inside my truck with the heat vent in my window. I take out the vent in the morning and when I’m done for the day I install it in the window . My generator will run 10hrs on a tank of gas and the ac set to 63 constantly running. Once the evenings drop below 67 I take the ac unit out the truck .
@@joebrings5817. What truck do you have? I'm thinking about getting into hotshot. I was think a f450. Seen guys run those.
@@bluesf150 I run a f350. If where to do it again o would run a 550 cab and chaise and get a coffin sleeper installed
@@joebrings5817. Not a bad idea. I work with my dad (we do drywall) and he has a f550. And if you ain't got 2k or 3k pounds on the back it'll beat you to death 🤣. I heard the f450 doesn't ride as rough. I don't know for sure. Thanks for info.
I love the channel but I can’t believe y’all butchering my city name like that it’s shreev- port. Not Sh*tty port 🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️
And I apologize for the roads we’ve been dealing with it for years lol
Lmao man
Nice work but weak pull out game lol 😂
