I've have this movie on Blu-ray. I don't even remember where I got it tbh. I travel to Japan often, and I get to see some of the movies that are popular over there. I specifically bought an all region Blu-ray/4K player just so I could actually watch the movies I buy/import from Japan.

@brotheranimations1848 thanks, just finished reading it. I agree with you except for the manga ending. It felt like it was rushed and there were a lot of inconsistency. Like telling the fisherman to wait for 3 days as he promised to return with the girl but never really happened and we don't even know what happened to the fisherman and his grandson. Going to Tokyo to see Hiromi's mother which also did not happen and we also don't know what happened to her mother. Hiromi telling Hideo to stay together and continue living but instead joins the nest like wtf. Also Kurusu's right hand guy suddenly turning into combat type ZQN, like when did that happen? Again there were alot of plot holes and inconsistency in the story. (How did the nest suddenly gives birth to a human baby when it was consistently giving birth to monsters?) All in all, I like the ending in the movie more than the manga. Going to the mountains and living there could make sense, not some zombie virus suddenly turning into some extraterrestrial invasion.

I mean, I saw someone flip a car after speeding so fast they did a sharp turn and flipped and crashed, and they survived. But uh... Doing 160 and slamming into something = death normally. There's flipping and then there's... boom bam bum.
If anyone hasn't seen this, it's a masterpiece. And better than Train to Busan imo. It doesn't that sappy cheesy Korean type ending. Just a solid zombie horror based on a manga.

That's true. Thanks to the meticulous VFX, it has been completely Japanized without making it obvious. It's a very high-quality effort targeted solely at the Japanese audience. (In a way, it's inefficient.)
When Hiromi turns into a hambie, this movie turns into Demon Slayer as she’s like Nezuko and Suzuki is like Tanjiro. However, Nam-ra is the modern day Nezuko. All of Us Are Dead immediately made me a huge Demon Slayer fan after I watched the first season.

MC depressed for whole day, other GF tried to comfort him by sex. Secretly she love it because she gets to have him all for herself. Fyi, she is half zombie half human and have special ability, she can command zombie and it was actually her the control the baby zombie to bite the other girl. MC is not feeling it, and GF got sad and gets herself absorb by some alien looking zombie like a hivemind, where everyone that got absorbed still can communicate with each other. She is no more, but her mind still exist inside that alien zombie. In the end, MC killed the alien zombie and it became a tree or something idk. He ended up being a lonely dude that still talking to the tree thinking both of his GFs is still inside it. Just like Tom Hank from Cast Away movie talking to his coconut lol

The manga is so much better, movie really doesn't do it justice. Not to say it's bad but it doesn't capture the absolute bleakness the manga has at times.
There was a "contractual" movie made by China, which Jackie Chan was forced to be in which is "loosely" based off of the manga. It mostly follows the manga, sort of. As seen through the eyes of it's director (which means it has significant deviations from the storyline). It's unlikely to be classed as a "normal" Jackie Chan movie, due in no small part to the fact he was NOT allowed to do any martial arts moves in it. The movie is also not classed as Horror, while it is certainly horrific, it's not a horror movie. If it helps you any, it was one of two halves of the movie. In the progression of the storyline, it's about halfway through the manga. To the best of my admittedly limited knowledge, the movie is classed by China, as a "Drama".

This movie overall was decent. The action felt very realistic and exciting, and it was well paced. The protagonist was, for the most part, relatable for an introvert. It wasn't perfect however, and I do have some criticism. -I feel like the protag was TOO cowardly. I get that Suzuki being timid and meek is kind of a main plot point, but seeing him constantly blowing his chances to be a hero and only getting his true hero moment at the very end of the film after considerable hesitation on his part was much more frustrating than entertaining. -The final fight scene with the athlete zombie dragged on way longer than it needed to. I was already in shock that the zombie got back up twice, but the third time the zombie got back up I actually yelled at my screen "oh come on, get it over with already!" -I think Hiromi getting bitten and not talking for the rest of the movie was really unnecessary and weakened the story. I would've loved to learn more about Hiromi's backstory and see her develop as a character, I think the story suffered with their decision to make her a weird human-zombie hybrid instead. -I wish the movie didn't end where it did. Would've loved to see an extended ending where a more confident and courageous Suzuki leads the group on an expedition to safety, the ending they went with kinda makes the movie fall flat imo. Ultimately I would say it was still a good zombie movie, but I feel like it could've been a lot better with some improvements.
I always wonder why zombie bites transform victims in like minutes(not factoring movie and show time) when Lethal bites on Snakes and other venomous animals can kill in like hour plus then (plot aside) this is a chimera virus.Also how do Zombies survive Winters???
I mean, I know this is kinda a dumb question but how does he have shells for his over under? His living situation also begs the question of how he owns a shotgun to begin with. With Japan's strict gun laws, as far as I'm aware he wouldn't of been able to comply with their laws to own a shotgun. Is it ever explained in the manga this is based off or is it just a "suspend your disbelief" sorta thing and that's that.
In the manga it's explained that Hideo, owns the shotgun for sporting. I might be doing something wrong here, but that's the explanation of how he got it.

-I wish the movie didn't end where it did. Would've loved to see an extended ending where a more confident and courageous Suzuki leads the group on an expedition to safety, the ending they went with kinda makes the movie fall flat imo.
Ultimately I would say it was still a good zombie movie, but I feel like it could've been a lot better with some improvements.

I always wonder why zombie bites transform victims in like minutes(not factoring movie and show time) when Lethal bites on Snakes and other venomous animals can kill in like hour plus then (plot aside) this is a chimera virus.Also how do Zombies survive Winters???

His living situation also begs the question of how he owns a shotgun to begin with. With Japan's strict gun laws, as far as I'm aware he wouldn't of been able to comply with their laws to own a shotgun.
Is it ever explained in the manga this is based off or is it just a "suspend your disbelief" sorta thing and that's that.
In the manga it's explained that Hideo, owns the shotgun for sporting.
I might be doing something wrong here, but that's the explanation of how he got it.
@@eatbreaddigward No, you're not doing anything wrong. That's how Japan's gun law works. You can't own hand guns, but Japanese civilians can own rifles & shotguns as long as they get approved for a sporting license. 🤘
