This is definitely the forgotten track from Citadel. It's sandwiched between the two Mammoths that are "Painters of the Tempest" and "Devour Me Colossus," and I never hear people talking about it. This song deserves more credit because it is truly amazing. Citadel is the best Progressive Death Metal album ever written in my opinion. The only ones who can compare are Blackwater Park by Opeth and Winter's Gate by Insomnium.
Insomnium is pure melodeath, but if you want another album to compare I'll throw in "The Weight of Oceans" by In Mourning. Opeth fans really like the band.
@@MrEgofreak when I posted this i had only heard Winter's Gate which I consider pure Prog Death, but yeah the rest of their stuff is melo death for sure. Yeah I love In Memoriam too.

Totally agree. I find Xenoflux also falls into the forgotten about camp. Both also follow a similar pacing and building up and down structure. To good.
5:09 and onward has to be one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I still love this song as much as the first time I heard it 3 years ago. So looking forward the their new album, Urn.

@@sirprice5830 what now. Misericorde II might be one of their best songs. Equus is incredible too
The ending to this song will always take my breath away. Tim's violin work leading up to Xen's guttural vocals is a perfect combo. Pyricc and Upon the Tongue of Eloquence both do this really well
This band is truly something special.
