That method for hardening the wire is exactly the tip i needed. I really wasn't understanding how to get a sturdy pin from that wire.

My metal working hyper-fixation wore off around 2018, but I need veil pins... I have everything I need for this project, no brass, just copper. Thank you for this tutorial. Now, maybe I will finally learn how to wear my veil.

Thanks for watching it! Aren’t the agate beads lovely? Sadly the store I got them from closed, so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get the same color again.

@@MissPhilomena Oh, sucks about the store closing :( If you run out and if I find similar ones up here from my bead source, I'll let you know :D

Wonderful! This is exactly the video I needed! I don’t have a jewelry anvil, so I‘ll have to think of another solution to harden the brass wire….

Any piece of steel will work for this. (So if you or a family member has a bench mounted vise, that would work. Or your local scrap metal yard will surely have something) The jewellery anvil is just shinier 😂.

@@australobuchia I ended up using a scraper, like for plaster. it worked just fine! :)

Thanks 💗 I do like a nice floaty veil, but I still don’t find wimples flattering on my chins.

Hello, I bought pins online a few years ago to use on my 1805 bib front gowns. unfortunately, they did not go through the cloth. They weren't as strong as yours and I have a few of them left. Do you think I would be able to hammer them to harden them? they seem to be made of brass as they are gold in colour. lastly could you tell me where I could buy ones like you have, I live in Australia.
