As the author of this story, someone commented on my Fimfiction account alerting me to this video, and I just want to say- wow. You brought this to life in a way I never imagined possible, taking such a dark story and really filling it with the emotions that I tried to convey through the text. It brings it to a whole new level, and on a personal note it's really gratifying to see someone think enough of one of my stories to do a reading of it like this. So all I can say is thank you!
I am curious , did celestia only destroy equestria? Cause there’s places outside the nation, yeah it’s not really kind to ponies but I feel like food would be easier to access , tho in the timeline I guess this was before that movie happened
Twilights survivors grief has slowly consumed her. She continually blames herself but I fear has failed to see the truth. that none but the evil are to blame. In life there are a great many things beyond ones control, one must accept these facts and move forward in an attempt to at least to give meaning to or own brief existence regardless of how hard, or painful it maybe. Oh my dear Scribbler this was a heart breaking, powerful read. I fear grim/dark doesn't even come close to covering it's true nature.

What is evil? People have many interpretations of this and I think one of them is what makes Twilight feel that way in the first place. She feels that she is evil because she missed her aim (sinned) by being inadequate to ensure the desired outcome. It's a pretty old problem and it's also pretty powerful albeit not very practical, due to the fact it isn't very beneficial to keep thinking about things like that and self torturing yourself. However I wonder if it could be taken further as an indication that she should take steps forward in order to not feel that way anymore. Kinda like an alarm system telling you that you aren't taking the proper steps forward. She mentioned earlier that something sub-conscious might be preventing her from making good use of her wings. I wonder if had she decided to explore that could she then moved closer to her desired outcome. Or maybe it might have made it worse who knows. IM REALLY LAZY SO I DONT MAKE GREAT USES OF THESE IDEAS HOPEFULLY SOMEONE HERE COULD PULL THIS FURTHUR.

The future Twilight showed to Starlight, it seems, and the testimony to Celestia's terrifying power. Celestial light makes for a weapon to which even nuclear power looks like a toy. To scorch the entire planet rather than to let Discord win, might be an act of mercy even. Better die than to live and see everything you loved reduced to Discord's playthings, seeing it all just burn is not much better though. And still, through everything, they must press on. Contrary to what they say, suicide is indeed a way out and the only one always available, and the easy way is the coward's way. Pride is always the first thing to take the hit, but pride is also the last one to go, even hope leaves sooner. The surviving ponies have lost everything but their skins, even their hopes, for there is nothing they can do now but one thing: they can meet death with honour, fighting for their lives to the bitter end. Honour isn't worth much, especially when there is nobody to witness the deed, but if this is the last thing one can have, then try your best this last time. Twilight may be crushed and guilty of everything she blames herself for, but in going like this she made it even worse. She could've regained some of her lost pride and died knowing she's didn't surrender, being brave in the face of doom. In the end, it's just like she says: "Better die on your hooves than live on your knees," needs a bit added to it: "...or drown in the pool of own tears."
Twilight:I'm alone, alone with my guilt and my fault Me: *Hugs* Your not alone and you'll never be alone even if you feel guilty of what you did. It wasn't your fault and don't forget that you are not alone.

I'm guessing this version of Discord was outright evil. In the show Hlhe wasn't really that bad. He didn't torture ponies like this one seemed to. Chaos would become the norm, and he would get bored and give up. Good thing the show version wasn't this bad.

At least with discord in charge there would be living ponies, and a possibility of defeating him in the future. This is just death. Too bad Twilight really would be this obliviously unaware of Celestia's insanity had this actually happened though, so props to the writer for realism. Great reading, good emotions.

I Think That Scribbler Should Write A Grimdark Fanfic About Princess Twilight's Future After Season 9 Ended, The Villains Return And It Will Be The End Of Equestria!
😢 this is so sad. I play games while listening to fanfic readings. This cause me to fail at an objective many times as I paused to process this. If it wasn't for the annoying wifi which cuts off ruining the mood, I would be crying.
After the events of this fan-foc reading thing, this happens in my head! (I mean in my imagination) After twilight tragically takes her own life at the edge of a plateau, a very familiar aura consisting of pure grief and sadness covers and possesses the landscape! Until a very strange portal appears near the same rock that twilight resided upon before her death, a creature then emerges through the portal seeming like a very, very strange creature that only a youngling could see in their nightmares or dreams! He wore a ragged white cloak, a top hat, 2 bowler hats, a black chefs hat, and a golden crown! He even had many monstrous features...he had 3 left arms consisting of 2 snake arms and a single tentacle, and 2 right gangly arms with claws! He had 4 eyes, one on the left side of his face being larger than the other 3 as if it was his main line of vision, and 3 other small eyes residing alongside it like planets in a system. He even had a gigantic snake's tail at his waist as if he were a naga or a lamia! And finally, he had 4-5 strange horns protruding from his head like spikes on an urchin fused with a goat! After he emerged from the portal, he examined the environment, knowing that whoever caused this did not hold back their urge of destruction or hate towards the world to cause it! He then saw a few scattered pieces of torn paper stained with tears, like a piece of tissue paper after someone had blown into it. He picked the pieces of paper up and reassembled them the best he could,when he did...he read it...and he was dumbstruck! He realized that this letter must have been for whoever used to rule this craggy and smokey landscape, he read and hung onto every single word of the !better and he cried...he cried as if he had been told the most heartbreaking secret or story he'd ever been told, he cried so much that his eyes looked like 4 small water wells overflowing with rain water as well as regular water, he then saw the signature at the bottom of the letter seeing who wrote it... "Twilight Sparkle" Somehow, that name seemed...familiar...downright identifiable!! Until he noticed a trail of tears heading over to the horizon as hoof prints in the piles and secondary trails and piles of ashes followed along until he noticed the edge of a plateau covered in many other tears...until he finally noticed...a dead pony at the bottom of the very plateau he sat on...a purple alicorn that he recognized right away...he then looked back at the same rock that he found the letter by and noticed another letter with a small rock resting on top of it. He had read the letter and all it said was... "Dear, Princess Celestia, I'm sorry" " -your faithful student and friend, Twilight Sparkle" He then pieced together exactly what might have happened, minutes before his arrival...he bawled at the sight of this and knew that this could've been Prevented, but how? Until he knew that he could fix this...but with what little power he had left...he could either make a portal to send himself home, or to fix this once beautiful and happy landscape...his choice was simple...he tried his very best to fix everything that has happened...including the deaths, destruction, and even made whoever caused this to never exist! As the world began to fix itself upon his very behalf, he began to give a sigh of relief until he gave his last breath...he then fell on the ground like he had been pushed over and began to slowly die, knowing that he had saved millions of lost lives...and even possibly disposed of whatever threat could've caused this...as he laid on the ground slowly dying...his eyes getting blurry as the very last seconds of his life ticked away...a familiar pony then ran towards him with a worried look on her face...he recognized her right away and smiled before he perished...no one ever figured out that it was him who fixed everything, nor did they ever learn his name... But there was a note that was right next to him that said... "Hello, my name isn't important, but what is important is that everything is as it should be and your all alive! But anyway, I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope you all live wonderful lives...and goodbye!..."
Man, I can't help but wonder. What about every other creature, Seaponies/Hypogryphs (if I spelt that right) Changelings, Dragons, Yaks. I mean not only that but I wonder about tirek or starlight or any other villain after that it just brings up so many possibilities
how? no elements, no ponies to bear said elements, no books left to read on how to restore things, no strength to cast magic besides levitation, immense guilt and not to mention large amounts of radiation.
To add a little bit of light to this dark fic, there is a chance the survivers can make it, as a whole, and someday ponies will do well as a speices. But Twightlight's surviver's and depression guilt is telling her there is no chance. But a idea.

As the world began to fix itself upon his very behalf, he began to give a sigh of relief until he gave his last breath...he then fell on the ground like he had been pushed over and began to slowly die, knowing that he had saved millions of lost lives...and even possibly disposed of whatever threat could've caused this...as he laid on the ground slowly dying...his eyes getting blurry as the very last seconds of his life ticked away...a familiar pony then ran towards him with a worried look on her face...he recognized her right away and smiled before he perished...no one ever figured out that it was him who fixed everything, nor did they ever learn his name...
But there was a note that was right next to him that said...
"Hello, my name isn't important, but what is important is that everything is as it should be and your all alive! But anyway, I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope you all live wonderful lives...and goodbye!..."
