Pyjamarama my favourite of the early Roxy Music should have been a number 1.
Best hit song of that era, it is also made special by the unique Ferry voice.
Pajamorama: - I remember listening to this track in the early ‘70’s, whilst waiting for my friend to ‘phone me back - he became my husband of 48 years. In those early days I called him my ‘ Cherub’ because he had dark curly hair and big blue eyes. He died this year - thanks for sharing this track & for the memories it has evoked- love, JaneR ❤
Since long i've been a Roxy fan. This is the first time i've ever heard Pyamarama. You can kick me.
You hear those dramatic, pounding opening chords? That's The Tragic Mood defined. This is the sound of a life coming apart. This is the spiral into personality as ineluctable Tragedy by feeling so intensely, by "feeling too much" according to the 'consensus.'

Pyjamarama was the most played song on the jukebox in my local pub, followed by "Gonna make you a star" and "The Jean Genie" What a year and what happy days.

Has anyone heard of Steve Lamour. probably the biggest Roxy fan ever? He has self published two publications on Roxy. He suffers from aspergers syndrome and his fixation on them is part of his autism.
We both travelled up to see them perform in Wembley in 2001. It converted me to appreciate their music though I didn't like them as a teenager in the early 70s.
I prefer the up tempo version but this is superb.

I don't see Brian Eno.
Brian Eno had quit the band by then. He was replaced by Eddie Jobson who is outside the frame for almost the entire song. You can catch a short glimpse of him in the last second or two of this video, as the camera pans out. The keyboards can be heard all through the song, though.
