I’m with you here. I didn’t discover the sound I had been chasing was just waiting inside a little box called Vox until years into my guitar journey. They take pedals wonderfully and are incredibly versatile in the sounds they can generate. My all time fav!
Thanks for the kind words about the video! Yes, you can def use an a/b box to run it as a traditional 2 channel amp. I would set the normal channel as the clean and the top boost channel as the dirty.
That’s a great amp. Unfortunately tubes are hard to get since new digital amps are getting strong. Do you think is the beginning of the end for tube amps.
I’m working on a video about this topic actually! To answer your question, I still love my amps but for what I do in the studio and these YT videos, digital amp modellers and captures are just so convenient I tend to use them more. In terms of recorded sound they’re 97% there, but the feel playing a real tube amp just can’t be replaced.
Don’t have a 15, but lovin my 30. It isn’t my only amp, loving my Hiwatt and Marshall. All depends what sound I’m after, but the like the Hiwatt, the Vox covers a ton of ground
Yes I use an aby box and run drive pedals to normal and effects to top boost or the other way round. Just make sure the aby box has a phase invertor as the two channels at the same time can be out of phase .
Is the Torpedo Captor plugged into the External Speaker jack or the Extension Speaker jack? I noticed the Master Volume was set fairly high -- a volume that would probably be too loud for playing at home unless you're bypassing the internal speaker and using software to simulate a speaker. But then we wouldn't be hearing how the amp sounds with the internal speaker. I hope this makes sense. Thanks.
@@NedSmith-fe8sq yes you are correct. The Vox speaker is bypassed and speaker load is going into the Torpedo and then emulating a 2 x 12 celestion cab mic’d by an Shure 57. You are also correct that setting the master volume at this level would be very unpleasant in home settings!
@@guitarwalljams Thank you very much for your reply. I recently purchased a used AC15c1 and find it fairly easy to get very nice clean tones, but am looking for a way to get more warmth and growl in the more distorted sounds. Do you have monitors to hear what you're playing?
incredible sound and great video! subscribed!
@@johannesorth9370 appreciate you. New AC15 video drops tomorrow!

Much appreciated!
Just got mine after decades of being a Fender guy. LOVE IT!
Such a great amp! Stoked for you.
Hi, maybe a dumb question. Could I use an A/B box and plug on each channel and use them like a normal dual channel amp?
Great video btw. 😊

Vox Pathfinder 15r pretty fun too!
I started to use vox amps two years ago, and trust me, it's great for metal too🤓
Compressor, dualgun, proco rat 2, and you get a badazz tone!
Very cool! So stoked to hear you using it for metal.
