The intro song is called Where Are We Now. It was released in 2021 just before their initial 7 years contracts with RBW expired. It's got a general meaning about a relationship that anyone can relate to but it's also about their 7 year journey since debut as they reminisce about the past and ponder their future.
Solar was rejected about 50 times before she auditioned for RBW with the Whitney song in the clip you saw. Insane, right? That's the kind of bs that goes on when the primary considerations are age, girly cuteness and a skinny body. It's not that the other companies couldn't recognize their talent but they're not going to waste their time & money by signing and training someone who will never debut because her age and/or appearance doesn't fit into one of their gg marketing concepts like cute or innocent. If RBW's Kim Dohoon hadn't decided to form a girl group based on vocal talent, performance skills and creativity and promote them as artists rather than teen idols it's very possible the MMM members would have never debuted.
Queendom had lots of great moments by all the competitors. MMM's songs include their gorgeous intro song Hello, Decalcomanie, a radically re-arranged "cover" of AOA's song Good Luck, the vocal masterpiece I Miss You, and the premiere of Destiny, which was released a couple months later on the reality in BLACK album. There was also a collab duet by Hwasa and Lovelyz' Kei on Billie Eilish's Wish You Were Gay and Moonbyul did a solo dance and a group dance with members of the other competing groups.
Moo YT's guide is very good but the new vid we've recommended about how they're underrated is probably more what you expected and hoped for in this video. It goes over some of the same ground of course but imo it's a better intro to the group as a whole. As I mentioned in a previous comment it's not really an explanation of why they're underrated so much as an overview of their history and a tribute to their world class talent and the ways they stand out in the kpop industry. For an example of being underrated that wasn't mentioned in the underrated video, the 4 Season 4 Color project is the most complex, ambitious project ever done by a girl group. You might think an historic, landmark achievement at the highest level of artistry as performers and creators would win them an Artist of the Year daesang award in 2018 when they released the first three 4S4C albums or in 2019 with the final 4S4C album, their win on Queendom and the massive success of Hip and the "reality in BLACK" album but of course that's not how kpop awards work.

Yeah it’s really wild how the K-pop industry sells this image and it takes some group with a vision to really disrupt it! I will be getting to the underrated video for sure 😊🤘

Real legendary talent. Actresses, Vocalists, Assassins.... They enjoy performing because they can. Imagine being in their 2hr+ concert. They could of kept going with this Killing Voice for days with their huge iconic discography.

The documentary Where Are We Now is a good watch. I found it on RUclips where it was split to 4 parts.
Among their solo songs Hwasa's Be Calm is a personal favourite of mine. A meaningful bluesy number that was a dedication to Hwasa's late uncle who was a great supporter of hers.
Moonbyul's solo called Absence is a beautiful song from her. Just a raw RnB vibe to it
Solar's solo is called Spit it out. Excellent dance track.
Wheein's one which i particularly love is Easy.
Mamamoo has also a bunch of goofy oddball songs like Waggy, Taller than me, ZZZZ, 123 EOI!.
    Told ya about the adlibs😅
The mighty Mamamoo, Queens of the Moomoo nation. Amen!

The Documentary definitely sounds cool, I’ll have to do some research 🧐 and all the solos seem fantastic! Yeah the ad libs blew me away 😂

Waggy- they wear some funny things. Fast food, dogs, telytubies I think..
Aside from performing as idols, they all have RUclips channels, with Solarshido being the longest running. Solar also did Mata Hari musical. Byul has Studio Moon Nights- it has 2 season at least. Byul is very good as a host/MC.
MIC On was the latest comeback. I saw them in Baltimore for the MIC On tour. They also related a limited Mic con movie that only out for 2 days in the US at select theaters. As they showed song performances from Mic on, they reflected on each other and the group’s journey. “Mamaooo will continue” was shown at the end to say there will always be Mamamoo. Luckily one of my local theaters showed it. I have the physical version of their WAW concert that had initially been an online one. WAW concert was done before the release of The Best, so when that album came out I was “oh, the version form the concert”. I think Mamamoo is the only KPop group I know of with an album of just ballads with WAW and remixes/remakes of older tracks with The Best.
“Why Mamamoo is not allowed to host their own radio show”, “party after manager fell asleep”, weekly Idol, Mamamoo TV… just a few where begeal energy is on full display.

I’ve attended 2 Mamamoo concert this year, one in February for their My Con world Tour and one just few days back, as Mamamoo+(Sub Unit which comprises of Solar and Moon Byul)
One thing I can highlight with confidence is their live vocals is a “die” to hear!
Was also fortunate to greet them up close after the end of the concerts.

Storytime: The chorus "Yes I Am" has no relation to any of the lyrics in the verses, it just comes out of nowhere. Or does it? One time a media person asked Wheein if she's gaining weight. Wheein replied, "Yes I am. I am a woman that is a natural thing that happens as we get older". Queue the anthem taking down beauty standards. When you get there you will still be attacked, just not from beginning to end like Egotistic. Same for Gogobebe.
Waggy is their song about puppy love, literally for loving baby dogs, that they also performed in dog and cat costumes with full makeup on national TV. The crack headery carries over into actual songs released on their albums. The first and still prime among Mamamoo's crackhead songs is Taller Than You; the CEO overheard the ways they commonly tease each other (they are all terribly short but 1 cm different from each other) and thought it was so funny ordered it made into a song.
OF COURSE it doesn't stop there with them. During the all-night filming for the Taller Than You m/v, Solar and Wheein broke into *another* long bit that got recorded by the vlog staff and became the song Sleep In the Car. Aze Gag (dad jokes) and Waggy are the other core crackhead songs.
Queendom is a ride. You know how the biggest acts traditionally go last at a concert? The producers tried to stir up drama by having the 6 groups choose their own performance order. Mamamoo are seniors, the other groups are allowed to bump Mamamoo by the official rules but actually have to defer to them to preserve their idol image. After a few groups have some hijinks fiddling with the order, Moonbyul walks to the board and everyone stops what they're doing to watch what she does. Mamamoo takes the 1st spot, the "worst" position. They decided to be nice. But accidentally ended up intimidating the hell out of the other groups with the confidence in their performance they don't need a good slot, they're still fine in the worst slot.
The first round of Queendom was the groups' breakout song. Mamamoo chose Decalcomanie (the song from Blue Dragon awards show with celebrity ad libs). So if you also watch the Queendom version of Decalcomanie when you get to that song, keep in mind it's the first performance of the first round of the competition, and the other five groups are watching from backstage knowing full well they have to go out soon and follow THAT 🤣.

I love the fact that their crackheadery even spills over to their discography because of course it does lmao

Love seeing people slowly fall deeper into the rabbit hole which is mamamoo. Also, funny that you mentioned btob, mamamoo is known to be female version of btob and vice versa. changsub and solar are really good friends (who even starred in a musical together last year).

Diggle Classic channel has a show called Life bar. On the Mamamoo episode Solar goes into detail about all of her auditions. The audition they show here is the one she didnt fail. The whole thing with K-pop is that it's a system for producing stars. So the standards they set are pretty ridiculous. And they prefer to train them young. For a number of reasons. It can be a pretty brutal process. Just be an OT4, it's easier. :) Most recent album was an EP called Mic On which had a World Tour. U.S. Moos got together and planned welcome signs and a video unique to each city. Between the WaW and Mic On albums. They all did solo work, very successfully. And right now Solar and Moonbyul are touring as a sub-group called Mamamoo+ with their own album "Two Rabbits" And Hwasa signed with Psy's label for her solo work. Released "I Love my Body" and "Chili".

Great reaction. For their interaction as a group, I recommend “Why mamamoo should not host their own show”, or any of Mamamoo compilation videos.
People say Mamamoo are consist of two pair of soulmates: Moonbyul&Solar ; Wheein & Hwasa. Even TV shows and Broadcast stations called Moonbyul and Solar an old married couple. Moonbyul and Solar often reffered to or called Wheein and Hwasa their kids.

personally as a mamamoo fan , that mamamoo documentary was missed opportunity..I wish they interviewed more people that new mamamoo girls more intimately. Only 1 pt out of 4 was really good. As many have mentioned Sylver, the new video made documentary style released few days ago, " why mamamoo most underrated kpop group" by nahiseokie 100x better in all accounts IMO. Thank you for reaction. You caught the "buffy the vampire t shirt!"

The documentary wasn’t that good? That’s a shame. But yeah the underrated video is definitely on my list of things to get to soon! And as someone who grew up watching a lot of Buffy I definitely caught it lol 😂

    • @LuisTren7
      @LuisTren7 7 месяцев назад +2

Well I think its not bad. I just feel they had big opportunity to really get deeper into more mamamoo as a group or members.
To clarify, as a moomoo I really was disappointed that they didn't show more mamamoo hardships in their early careers, or stories about more the members journeys or mamamoo impact in the industry harshness on their "standards".
Please still do the mamamoo documentary as their still lots information and part#4 was really good emotionally as it talked about the groups struggles as a group 7 years burnout and Wheeins deciding moving her solo work to another company.
So don't mind a picky momoo lol and please react to documentary as many have not seen it and it will be interesting for you and ur followers.

One correction: it was 2020's MAMA where they were mistreated. 2018 and 2019 MAMA appearances were iconic and still talked about and appear in clips.
Why are they dressed as a burger, etc.? Because they're Mamamoo! It's the final answer like, "Because he's Batman!"
