He's dedicated to his craft. It's this type of extra work that separates the super stars from the average to even a slightly better performing athletes.
I retired from the military 2 years ago. At 58 I’ve been eating this way for nearly 5 years and physically I’m easily in the best shape of my life - even rocking the abs suited for a body 30 years younger. I keep the carbs minimal, eliminate the sugar, and avoid alcohol. For some it’s extreme but I prefer to be healthier.
It was cool seeing him and Burrow after last game. Obviously close friends since Ohio State but having both gone through similar season ending injuries early in their professional careers, it was great seeing them go up against each other.
Diet is 98% of the fight to lose weight and actually if you are exercising and eating right, you'll see those abs without doing a bunch of ab workout. I cut down the carbs and eat more meat in my diet and I started losing weight and gaining strength using the X3 program and tossing out the weights and stopped jogging. I also push and walk backwards with a sled to keep my knees as well as the rest of my lower body flexible and strong.
Even the current high school athletes place a lot of their workout with diet. Many colleges have separate dining facilities for athletes with strict diets.
so essentially he cut back on carbs and thus reduced his calories a bit. got leaner as a result. more veggies, salads, fruits, all of which are low calorie, high volume food/plate options. whatever works!
1. High protein 2. Medium fat 3. Low carb I went pretty strict carnivore in the beginning of the year from a stall on keto. Already down two pant sizes. I finally have abs!
Reduced yes but did not cut out carbs. Carbs are essential for the energy required especially as a pro athlete. If you just cut out carbs your energy would be much lower. Most important NOT all carbs are created equal. So but cutting out the bad carbs having the healthier carbs that is success and the results show. I have cut out the bad carbs and wow what a difference.
Carbs are a nightmare for so many of us. Without the luxury of trainers and nutritionists, it takes you awhile to figure out what works and what doesn't.
How in the fuck is he eating 50% protein… if he’s eating over 3000 calories a day (I assume that would be a low number for him), that’s 375g protein a DAY, but likely far more than 400g lol. Insane
I call bs on 50% protein. He is a big dude and obviously very active. Would not be surprised if he takes in anywhere between 4000-5000 calories. That would be 500g-625g of protein a day... That would be more than Ronnie Coleman did in his prime when he was on ridiculous amounts of HGH and vitamin T :)
Well everything in that video had "carbs" but they were all diverse highly nutritious, unrefined versions in meats & vegetables. Simple starches & refined carbohydrates (most every pasta & bread) are the carbs the nutritionists are referring to. And yeah, he actually probably does have some in his diet on game day b/c a salad at half would lead to cramping, bloating & poor nutrient uptake. The "no dairy" thing is silly California nonsense. Then both of them acting like all he eats is fish. He has to have lean beef, pork, chicken, turkey, etc. The guy is eating a combination of the Mediteranean Diet and the Plate method. I'd kill for that much delicious, well prepped food in a day.
Right! We know that humans have been drinking milk for a long time and unless you are lactose intolerant it's not the worst thing. Although I did switch to grass fed A2 milk recently and enjoy the taste more
@@Craig_Doll Nutritionally speaking - dairy (especially milk) is overrated. You can get the same micro and macronutritents from other foods in much high quantities with fewer calories. If you're an athlete trying to optimize your diet, cutting out dairy can make sense. For non-athletes like me and you, diary can be part of a healthy diet.
Common on Nick it is calories in vs. calories out no matter the macro content. In today's world carbs rule for both fat loss and muscle gains. Go ask Mr. Ripped Clarence Bass who's diet is over 50% carbs and he is still maintaining a body fat level of about 8% at over 80 years old!!
