Frannie the upper brass sounds fine, it’s just the tubas that sound really different. maybe it’s a HBCU tuba playing style since all of their tuba lines sound like this, but it’s also probably camera quality. We just never hear loud tuba sections all that often except in HBCU marching bands.

prince gomikuzu good question! its actually cause of slight intonation differences and the fact that brass players play by buzzing their lips, and because there’s so many, that buzzing is amplified
gomi ouji Another reason for what you are hearing are the sheer number of players playing at a high range, versus a more “normal” ensemble, which favors less and less voices towards the top and relying on overtones to make the balance work. The result is super super cool though
I'm a Trumpet player in the marching band at Coosa High School and and I love how your guys play and how you really get into the music and how great you guys sound.
Crazy to think about the different styles universities have across the country. Here is all play as loud as you can, but for mine and other schools around me, we focus on the soft parts leading up to the loud
This sounds like it'll be played at the end of a feel good movie with bad hardships the main character had to go through. Finally, when the character knows that their story is over, the sun going down, it plays this as near the end the credits roll. This are the vibes I'm getting.

I hate the fact that you can never hear the woodwinds in college bands. They play a part too why is there a need for so much brass???

They use sousaphones and dont pay attention to sound quality, they just let it rip, making it sound so kazoo-ey
It’s a specific play type that doesn’t worry about full sound or full tone. It’s only purpose is to hype up people with loud sound.
Good tone
Why do they even have woodwinds lmao
bigman I blatty ass sound
That's what I'm saying! Never had a sense of balance.
To make them feel apart of the band
Because they add to the sound
Th3K3yMa5t3r no they don’t
They should've extended the Carti part at 1:24 but this arrangement/performance is godlike
I would just sound like that for 10 more seconds
