  • Discover the allure of the Indonesian made Sire Marcus Miller V5 24. Their first ever 24 fret Jazz bass in the Sire lineup! A budget friendly bass that stands a formidable chance against other bass predecessors.
Want to buy this bass? Check it out here:

The signal chain is plugged direct from an Ampeg RB112 onto a Universal Audio Volt 276 in Logic Pro X. Using no plug-ins and a teeny bit of compression from the Volt 276 in play-throughs.
For strings I used on this review: Whatever strings that come stock on the Sire V5.

I got a v5 24, i wanted to try it, (I bought it used for half a price). The only problem is that the neck pickup is to close to the neck and becomes a bit difficult for slapping, otherwise is a very good quality instrument. Important is that you have to adjust the neck and the bridge for your own needs. The sound is to bright for my taste, and the tone knob is poor switching between bass and treble, not getting a great sound definition.

Glad you mentioned the neck dive but on the other hand I just checked all my jazz basses and all of them do

So these basses have traditional j bass singles? How are they with 60 cycle hum? Are they really noisy?

    我試過我的 Sire V5 24Frets 5Stings Bass 的頭部不會掉下來。也許是因為我的模型指板木材是白色楓木?所以比例不同?

I just know that this beautiful bass was made in Indonesia. Definitely in my shopping list now LOL, perhaps the 5 strings version (are they made in Indonesia too?)

I don't understand this new trend to bomb the eye with quick camera jump edits. It"s very annoying and doesn't help on anything. It's not an action movie trailer....

Probably just straight from shop/factory. Needs proper setup. But I guess some people really enjoy high action.

think the john coltrane type circle sticker on the scratch plate is great ( should be permanent )
Marcus is a dangerous bass player
saw him live in the UK in "1980"
dubbed "a show that made Marcus famous
before that 1980 gig, Marcus was still basically "an unknown"
in fact, the headline main band was a band called " GQ - Make My Dreams a Reality " (with their now classic forgotten hit)
the band Marcus was in "Lonnie Liston Smith ,, even influenced the likes of George Michael
      & yes,,
Brit Funk " Light of the World" aka Incognito were the warm up band that day
      i was there ,,
the best track or track i remember aka when everyone wanted to know who the bass player was ,, dropping such a bad bad bass line ,,,
Lonnie Liston Smith - Aquarian Cycle
who is it ? ,,,, he is called Marcus Miller ,,, Marcus was 21 years old at the time*
