    The *Hawkei* is possibly my favorite AFV in the world.
    However, as an Aussie, I'm probably bias in this view.

      Hawkei will get the job done and then some as a replacement for the Landrover , fck that useless mercedes off.
      Also being an Aussie , my view is definitely bias.

      No, you are not. Poland is one of the future planned location of the European Thales complex Hawkei specified only. This would be the greatest possibility to obtain some serious amounts of those great 4x4 AFV at a decent price. I'm talking about the Polish Army needs beyond 2000 pcs. Well beyond if 2 versions (light and heavy) would be possible in specs we are interested.

      @@darthmorpheus9603 If Steyr-Daimler-Puch is not in its "Poor Cabrio" edition you can still have a lot of use from this 4x4. Although those are just 4x4 offroad vehicles. No more no less.

      The Australia government, has done a deal with the Israeli government to use parts made by them for the use in the hawkei, and not Thales. So I do not see them giving this to Thales Euro, as they have armed there enemies...

    • @HanSolo__
      @HanSolo__ 5 лет назад +3

      @@darthmorpheus9603 Which enemies you have on your mind?
      As far as I know, Thales is a regular guest in MSPO Kielce which is the biggest Polish Military Industry Expo. I've already seen their co-op SWAT trucks made with Tatra. I've also seen the Hawkei machine there.
      Both Thales and Hawkei as business entities are open for wide cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Defence and Polish military business side.
      What Poland needs most is a solid, reliable platform. Even if we wouldnt be able to start our own Hawkei production lines (best option), we do have a wide range of ready fighting components for such platform. Im talking about arrangements of the wanted versions.

      @@roomyskink1804 That's actually incorrect. The Hawkei is WAY better protected and designed better for protection, being 5,000 - 10,000lb heavier, yet it is still a smaller vehicle, by quite a bit. The hawkei also has better fuel range too, the only thing that the JLTV is better at is by having a more powerful engine, yet the hawkei has a higher top speed by 20km/h.

  • @pdarley58

    Better than the fucking huge and heavy JLTV we in the UK have selected. We have the very advanced Ocelot/Foxhound that. That could have been developed to s similar standard!!!

      @Khaled Ghanem, I said that if _you think_ that a person needs to be an expert in order to have a valid opinion, then by that logic you yourself need to also be an expert in order to distinguish the valid opinions from the non-valid opinions.
      Also, your entire argument is an *appeal to authority* fallacy.

    • @pdarley58
      @pdarley58 5 лет назад

      raptor Thanks, not surprised. The JLTV from what I can gather Hull is not inherently V shaped it used a bolt on mine deflector!!! Not the best solution. It seems too big and too heavy. Our Ocelot/Foxhound should have been developed to meet this role. I believe it’s come down to price the JLTV is about a fifth of the price. They did develop a cheaper steel version but went for the piece of US shit.
      My country is crazy, they never follow through with anything. The logistics is s nightmare, so many different vehicles with different parts. I questioned The MoD over this and they font even consider standardisation!

      If we were talking about domestic cars, i'd agree; with military hardware,...and to be precise, building a military industrial complex in Australia,..I disagree,..when was the last decade the US was not involved in or starting a war? no,...we don't want to have our soldiers murdering people for corporate profits, be it arms sales, territorial gain or oil and other resources,..all under the guise of 'restoring democracy' of course,...

      @@Zandiv , France has a thriving military export industry. When is the last time you heard about them disrupting world peace?
      Weapon manufacturers build weapons, not start wars. So long as there are measures in place to prevent corruption, arm sales don't need to lead to exporting war.

      Selected on what criteria? and by whom? Should be be selling to the Saudi's? The Israeli's? The US? Or is it, "show us the money",..it's all good?
      _would have been consulted through initial development,_
      That makes perfect sense
      _so it's just a matter of circumstance as to whether or not international sales would eventuate._
      I presume that this should read "so it's _not_ just a matter of circumstance as to whether or not international sales would eventuate."
      Yeah, quite understandable, given the expenditure outlays and the varying operational requirements of different Governments.

      What the fuck are you talking about? Your so-called "STEERING DRIVE" system basically operating on the set of pulleys pivots and levers is older than Moses from the bible. A cheap toy-gocart for a 6 y.o. boy moving with cranks and drivetrain is fitted with your "patented in Russia" system One that doesn't have "any analogous in the world". Maybe because it would not get any patent pending in the US or EU? Maybe its worth shit if nobody made any use out of it?
      One thing is for sure, it is a trivial mechanism and old as fuck. About 100 years old.
      Where do you use this crap? In this shit called Tigr? Turkish military industry made 5 such vehicles. All became exporting success with two based on civilian 4x4 designs of Ford and Toyota. Even those are far superior in any aspect to Tigr - which was claimed as a Light Tactical Vehicle. AKMS can shot thru it.
