One of the first Genesis game I played as teenager. Good memories...
About what I was about to comment verbatim. This one and Castle of Illusion.
My gosh this brings back so many good memories
Great video, one of the best adventure/platform games of the 16 bits era!! I think the first time I played it I was like six or seven years old, great memories!
Oh man great choice for today! I really liked this game. The whole plunger thing is pretty unique. I couldn't beat this as a kid but was able to as an adult a few years ago.
The game looks like a lot of fun. Thanks to you im interested in playing it.
Nice to see you play Sega for a change. I did not have Sega, I only had the NES. One of my friends did have it when I was small. And I also played it in toy stores when I was at the mall.
What a great play through. Definitely one of my top 10 Genesis games.
I had no idea about this game! Thanks Erin for your awesome playthrough. This one is definitely on my Genesis wish list. Donald is my favorite Disney character.
Your playthroughs are always relaxing to watch. Oh and I can definitely relate to that ending. Dropping or bumping my Genesis happened on more than one occasion. :)
Great job, Erin! This is one of my favorite Genesis games!
That's awesome. Thanks for watching!
I'm loving this channel. I've been watching all the Halloween episodes.
I really like this game, it was part of my childhood! Thank you for your game play!
This was included with my Sega Genesis bundle from Costco when I was a kid. I miss it dearly.
I can't stop laughing, great puns and commentary Erin! "Pete's kinda an asshole" LOOL.
This Quackshot video game looks awesome, I gotta try it out on Sega.
Wow the music brought me right back! My GMA bought me this when I was in like kindergarten. Loved this much more than Castle. Oh and BTW you're so easy on the eyes and the fact your voice is nice makes this so much more enjoyable then some dude. Had to say that. Thanks Mike for introducing me to this channel!
Thanks so much!

No problem. You're hot and play good games. Its a no-brainer. Can't believe I just now stumbled upon your channel. And you are very welcome. Thanks for the like!
This was the first game I got for the Genesis back in '93 and I loved it (I only had Sonic which came with the console). To this day it's one of my favorite games.
The music sticks in the head for years, litteraly. I had this game as a kid and I regularily get the mexico and duckburg theme popping up from time to time in my ear
Watching this brings back memories - my mum bought me this game as a kid in the 90's; the graphics are surprisingly good looking still but I remember thinking it was a tough game back then lol. Nice channel, look forward to watching more content as a new subbie! 😎👍
I'm very happy to have triggered some happy memories for you! Thanks for watching :)
Love the turtles that have boxing gloves on, I got to get this game.
I love Indiana Jones and Donald Duck is my favorite Disney character. Throw Erin into the mix and you've got one hell of a video! Keep the great content coming, Erin!
newwavejunkie thanks so much for watching!
I remember getting Castle of Illusion for the Megadrive when it first came out and being really impressed, much more than SNES Mario World later. Never had this one but this looks like it was made with the same love and attention :o)
I played this game as a kid, but forgot it even existed. I just nostalgia bombed hard.
This game deserves a stronger legacy than it has. FDG Entertainment (Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom) tried to pitch a Quackshot remake to Disney. But they said no, so FDG shared the pictures on Twitter so the material wouldn't go to waste. Headcannon (Sonic Mania) even tried to pitch a Darkwing Duck (NES) remake to Capcom and they said no. It's like these companies don't want any easy money...☹️. Great video, by the way!
The end was so cute, lol. Fun game!
I subbed cause you sound so genuine..no scripts..just being yourself while playing my childhood/teenhood games ..lol@ 12:34
I love the animation of the duck sprites in action!
This totally reminds me of something Mike Matei from Cinemassacre would love and play for us all to enjoy:) You've got great taste.
I am really digging this channel, so glad you created it Erin!!
I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying my videos. Thanks for watching!
I played this game religiously as a kid!
I got this for my birthday when I was 13 or 14 and loved it.
Was looking up castle of illusion reviews and stumbled across this vid; I couldn’t remember the name! Good choice!
Of the three "main" Disney games made by Sega on the Genesis, the one I always loved was World of Illusion. That game felt more like a journey than, say, an action game. It was like a magical trip, with its beautiful music and graphics and creative locales. And having special areas that can only be visited by solo Mickey, solo Donald, or 2 players (like the giant Christmas tree!) just added some nice extra replay value to it as well while making it feel even more special.
Daytime Sky I've heard a lot of great things about World of Illusion! I've only played some of Castle of Illusion, so I still need to check that one out.
Ah world of illusion was one of my favourites as a kid, definitely would I've to see that one
It was a hard game for me. English is not my mother language so I had to figure out what to do purely on trial and error. Took me a long time to beat this game. Btw nice channel girl! Just got a new subscriber ^_^y
As far as licensed games go, Disney was killing it in 16 bit days. This game and mickey game i played on game gear were simply awesome
That's the way we like to hyuck........I can;t stop laughimg!
did you hear that there was made a new series of Duck Tales? its pretty great! David Tennant is the voice of Scrooge McDuck and its (the pilot at least) right here on the RUclipss! great video! you have some pretty great content so far!
Yes, I did! I've only seen the first episode so far but I liked it. I'll have to check out more soon. And thank you very much!
Omgggg I loved this game ! You’re taking me back right now.
Another great video! So many of the classic Disney games are top notch, this one always felt a bit under appreciated.
I also really like the narrative that Donald's just chowing down on other ducks for power, haha
My sister had this game when we were kids and man, I had completely forgotten all the backtracking necessary. And as for Gyro, it’s pronounced like gyroscope, not like a Greek pita sandwich.
Erin, thank you for your videos. I know it takes time but im sure every subscriber appreciates what you do.
I havent played to some of the games you have (like this one), yet you make any game you play interesting. Awesome comments, some very funny and I love the sound when buttons are pressed (kind of odd ikr). What Im trying to say is that I really like your style and your videos! Keep it up!
Thanks so much! My goal is to make videos that are relateable and fun (and sometimes informative!). I just want anyone who watches to feel like we're just hanging out and playing/talking about games. And I'm very glad that you appreciate my dumb jokes because I kind of just think out loud sometimes when I'm filming these...I can be a bit of a goofball :p
And yeah, I totally know what you mean. I like the sound of controllers/keyboards/buttons etc, haha. Thanks for watching :)
Erin Plays Thank you for your reply!
Just wanted to point out that it is exactly how I feel when watching your videos, like if we're hanging out playing videogames. Also your commenting and jokes don't feel scripted, everything you say it's natural and that's why I look forward for some more :D
I noticed the comment on the blurry composite image. As they suggested the component cables are the way to go or you can mod it for s-video. I did the latter simply because the cables were hard to get at the time and s-video looks almost as good as component. Huge upgrade! Thanks for the entertaining videos!
Actually, I just received my OSSC the other day and cables, so things will start looking a lot better from now on :) Thanks for the suggestion though!
Hí!, one of my favourite games in MD. I still remember the day that this game came my hands, for me It was like playing a Disney cartoon serie. Megadrive/Genesis, my favourite console, Altered Beast, Truxton, Revenge of Shinobi.... good times :)
its my 2nd fav behind ps1. Such great genesis games. Those games u mentioned are some of the best.
Must have missed this one when I was a kid, I think it probably was available in the UK. I remember playing a ducktales game on the Amiga and castle / world of illusion on the megadrive but I don't remember reading much about this in the games mags back in the day. good vid btw
Yes! I totally forgot about that magazine. I used to get that all the time.
I just played this! Coincidence but I had the craving to play it after trying it as a kid at a damn store. SUBSCRIBED!
Damn another good channel. Ima sub.
thank you!
This is a nice video, kind of going through the game with your thoughts.
This was one of two Genesis games I got for my 14th birthday in 1991...still have them and still play them. Were you even born by then? You seem much younger but who am i to complain? The 80s (even early 90s) were awesome!
I won't ever play any of these games, but you get a 100% through me.
Great video! Quack Shot was one of my favorite games growing up with a Mega Drive, good old days. Good thing I had a strategy guide magazine to help me know what to do, my 8 year old self would probably not even get past Transylvania haha.
I played this once when a friend let me borrow it. I remember that it was fun to play but as far as the levels, the only one that was familiar was Dracula's castle (or was it Quackula?) but I even vaguely remembered the music to that one. I must have spent a lot of time on that level or something.
You make a great point about the Donald collecting other birds that are cooked for health Haa very thought provoking :) love your stuff Erin
To be fair we eat other mammals, and birds really do hunt and eat other birds. Rarely while wearing an Indiana Jones outfit, though.
I LOVED this game ❤️!!
The music for Dracula Castle.....poifect.
It has a bit of a Shadowgate feel to it.
Always played with a close friend great memories
Omg Quackshot was awesome lol. The Viking guy used to annoy me. 😫
I loved this game
Oh my goodness! Your love of Nintendo and not sega, your hilarious ending, your love for Disney!! I don’t even care that you said gyro (JI-ROW)’s name wrong. U r the coolest!!!! Love your channel!
I'm glad you included the goofy twerk tweet. On a related note I'm now cry-laughing and my lungs burn.
Some corn 🌽 for your duck 🦆
9:10 I know the feeling lol when we were young the frustrations of life not making those Jumps our hands sweaty our hearts beating fast lol
I have this game but haven't really played it. I shall give it a go after watching you play it.
Quackshot's a blast; if you ask me, there are 2 companies that made great Disney games: Capcom and SEGA. Like Quackshot, SEGA's Castle and World of Illusion titles capture the sense of childlike wonder that earlier cartoons had in visuals, music, and even just the places you go; I'd highly recommend them both. Legend of Illusion on the Game Gear is also pretty good, if you can find it. Believe it or not, it's Indiana Jones that was influenced by Donald Duck! Quackshot aims to evoke the feel of some of the old Donald Duck comic books. www.hardcoregaming101.net/donaldduck/donaldduck3.htm
Yes, I definitely need to play Castle/World of Illusion at some point. And you're totally right about Indiana Jones! I recently started reading some of the Carl Barks duck comics, and I completely forgot about that. Thanks for the link, I will have to check this out :)
When I was younger I remember my dream Rescue Rangers game. A game where you could switch between any of the five Rescue Rangers at will with each having unique attacks and abilities alowing then to take routes through levels that the others could not. The plunger gun in Quackshot is basically what I wanted Gadget's attack to be, including being able to use plungers to climb walls, except it would eliminate most enemies rather then stunning them.
omg I loved this game as a kid
Game looks pretty decent.Awesome review shug.I'll be huntin this one.Young or not you got good taste in games. There's no age requirement for that.
The Retro Rohboh Kid thanks so much!
Had to let ya know, just picked it up for 7 on ebay!First video I saw ya do.:)
The Retro Rohboh Kid that's awesome to hear! I hope you enjoy it :)
Those trees in Transylvania used to give me nightmares.
I played this game almost a year ago
I remember Disney Adventures Magazines when I was small, little boy, early and mid teens in the early, mid and late 90's. Also early 2000's.
My older cousin use to collect Disney Adventures Magazines. Not me that much but I only got one Disney Adventures Magazine. Mostly I only see them at Super Markets in my time.
This game is one of my favorite platformers. Perfect difficulty, length and fun. I'm not sure if I already recommended Felix the cat and little samson for the NES to you, but I am sure you would love them :)
Ranson Curbersmith I've actually already done an Erin Plays video on Felix :) I love that game! Little Samson looks cool, I just wish it wasn't so crazy expensive. Thanks for watching!
I was way more invested in you not dying by the crushing walls then I'd like to admit. Wish we had this instead of frigging Fantasia for Genesis.
loved this game when i was a kid
Oh my gosh, love for mentioning Mickey's Castle of Illusion in the beginning!
Love that the game has a Temper meter, and popcorn is Spread.
Popcorn Spread is pretty great!
ha. "..Pete's an asshole in every game."
Great vid, great game! Thank's to @MikeMatei from Cinemassacre to finding you :D
My first Sega Genesis game other than mortal kombat and Sonic.
“Pete’s an a**hole” 😂🤣
Erin, did you capture this using Genesis composite or Svideo? The capture is blurry compared to your AVS stuff. I would recommend the Genesis HD retrovision component cables to improve your Genesis video image. They are a bit pricey but worth it if you're going to do more Genesis stuff. I do commend you on using original hardware and NOT emulation!!
8bitDNA Yeah, I was using composite. Thanks so much for your suggestion! It looks like they're currently sold out but I'm definitely getting the ones for Genesis and Snes. That's a great solution. And thanks! I prefer original hardware :)
Erin Plays Did you break your Genesis at the end of this video? That was an unexpected accident.
Herbert Cruz haha, luckily, no! It just fell off a stand I had it on but it's all good :)
If you get an RGB capture system that supports 15Khz, you can make your own cable to the RGB Pins. gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm
What an amazing thumbnail 📌
Boogerman a pick and flick adventure is a game I'd like to see haha used to love that game when I was young
liam b I’ve actually been thinking about that game lately, ha. It’s possible it will show up sooner or later! Thanks for watching :)
0:20 Oh boy... (O_O) It's certainly not "entry-level" from what I remember, talking about first games if you're going to try the system, but I'm sure you can handle it. :P
8:05 That creeped me out the first time it dawned on me. In a children's English teaching book, where Donald and family were sat at the table enjoying a very expensive turkey one Thanksgiving. The punchline came when Huey, Duey or Luey said “Gee, Donald... Why are there so many shots in the turkey if you hunted it yourself?”
I beat this game a long time ago in like 1993 have fun when you're in India in that section where are in The Maze full of doors pay attention to the doors are numbered
Yaaaaaaas!!! A new Erin Plays video!!! I totally recommend "HOOK" if you're looking for a good platformer for the sega genesis! :)
With the ghost thing, you shiuld face donald backward when the ghost is looking back so it didnt do harm ..
I love Erin.
You either practiced before recording or you are a master retro gamer, this is a hard game the first time you try it and it gets harder. The game is prominet and unique for its graphics and gameplay but it is one of the few games where the character actually replies to other characters (Unlike the gameboy pokemom games or other games).
The mispronunciation of Gyro Gearloose's first name has to remind me of AVGN's video about the confusion of gyro (circle) vs. gyro (the Greek delicacy) when he talks about getting the gyros for the Robotic Operating Buddy for the game Gyromite.
Cool game, nice that Donald Duck got his own game,it was usually Mickey Mouse all the time, another great video, thanks :)
What a way to end the video, haha. Looked fun, if not perhaps a bit tedious.
Pete had a good reputation in a kingdom hearts 2?? Chain of memories where you go into the old Disney land world where he was conflicted with his newer self 😢 😭
So weird to see Toby Tortoise as an enemy. You'd think they would have used Max Hare instead.
I Have This Game With The Game The Original BOX And Book That Came With it.
That's awesome!
You’re awesome
ONLY 650 SUBS??? C'MON!!!
Now you can see the subscribers dude 😎😎😎😎😎
i remember this game, was one of the 1st sega genesis games i played
Have you ever played "Aero the Acrobat"...I think it would be a game you would like....
10:49 The "Metroidvania" games is always be like that. I don't have issue with there.
When I was a kid I would dance every time I heard the duck tales theme come on lol
Derps Mcghee it's definitely in the top 10 greatest themes of all time, imo. Thanks for watching!
Fun game!
It would have been kinda amazing if "Dracula" was instead Count Duckula. Anyone else remember that show?
Grande jogo!
I remember playing this at sears at kiosk fun times
