Your natural response with the super-nerdy subject matter lends itself to making a comedic pause, just to let the concept settle for a moment with the viewers, and then continuing like nothing happened. Irony is your friend.
Your enthusiasm for retro games/accessories/oddities really shines through in this video. Thanks for putting another 13 minutes of pure joy out into the world!
I worked at Mad Catz when we made that light gun and helped design it to an extent. Our initial instructions were to make a gun that didn’t look like a gun so we could sell it at Toys R US.
YES! Toys R US was a big deal for us to be in so making them happy was def a priority. When we got this task we all were a little dumbfounded but tried our best. The reason it has no barrel is because of this. I did not design the final result but just provided ideas on what it should look like. We had a similar task when we were asked to make the racing wheel better. That is why later revisions had lap grooves and the ability to adjust dead zones within the wheels hardware vs software. If you ever tried playing or testing Grand Tourismo with the original wheel (I tested literally thousands of these lol) it was bad.
that Castlevania III box-art picture you got is super sweet! i want to cover my walls in a bunch of those! great video, Erin! Merry Christmas! also, great music choice!
You can go very wrong with Gauntlet and Castlevania when Tiger is involved, lol. I believe that Game Gear McDonald's game is called Donald in Magic World or something. I'm glad you finally got it. Thanks for the video. Enjoyable as always.
Awesome pick-ups 🤘. I still have my Acclaim wireless controllers. I haven't used em since '90's. I was so excited when I got em way back then. Buy oh man, the controller has to be pointed exactly at the receiver to work properly. Good times 🤘😁
Last week I picked up some Sega CD games, Lethal Enforcers and Mickey Mania. I have always thought the Sega CD was renowned for its full motion video CDs but I discovered in recent years that there are actual legitimate games for the system.
Clearly, we want more of these videos, more often! Sooo, so interesting to see all this rich history, all presented by such a chillaxed, knowledgeable person!
Those tiger handhelds are very cool, just all of the weird control schemes they tried. I had the Top Gun one, that was really tall. Not sure if that was a Tiger brand one. I also had a TMNT one and an ecco the dolphin lcd game. More recently grabbed a densha de go! lcd game, thats really the only thing I'm going for a full collection on. Love your channel Erin!
Some of the old consoles look almost like some design items for decorating your apartment. I have still my old Game&watch Dokey Kong and it looks really nice with orange body with metallic cover.
Oh my gosh Erin I have so many Tiger handhelds. I have stacks of them for no reason but finding them at thrift stores like ten years ago. Mega Man 2 is a good (bad) one. I love that JP Yoshi's Island. The box is so colorful. SO Happy!
Nice pick ups 😊 And happy late birthday Erin! I been picking up a lot of shmups like Super Star Soldier, Final Soldier, Soldier Blade, Nexzr and Gekioh Shooting King PS1. Also been playing alot on Retro Achievements.
Thanks so much! And nice finds! I've been wanting to try out some shmups lately. I never really played any cuz I assumed I'd suck at them, but I casually played some a bit ago on my own and I really enjoyed them.
Hi Erin, as a kid i used to have an Tiger Electronic X-Men hand held game. Lol. Cool vid as always.- Retro mania, for the retro inpaired. And your bulbasaur good pick.😊
Can never go wrong with the music from Megaman 2 always puts me in a good mood. Also music from Castlevania in there. I picked up both Ren and Stimpy plush at a local warehouse sale. Merry Christmas Erin
Definitely so more pick up vids! Love these. Recently picked up Illbleed on the Dreamcast, Die Hard Arcade on Saturn (cause Christmas) and Valkyria Chronicles on PS3.
Too many games is the pinnacle of game bartering anymore! Great pickups and some real gems you have yourself Erin those Acclaim Controllers bring back some memories lol. Also Happy Holidays to you, your family & friends have a good safe one and keep on gaming!
I'm a simple man. I hear Mega Man music, I like the video. Oh, and sweet pickups! There's a treasure trove of oddities out there, so it's cool to see them get some spotlight.
The fact that the Japanese version is called 'Yossy Island' makes it essential. Plus, I really like those glossy, quick-reference instruction cards that come with some SFC games.
I have those same double player wireless controllers they are sort of cool when used properly. that IR wireless technology back then has a "optimal" operating distance of minimum of like 6-8 feet and maximum 20 feet..the farther you go away the more "aimed" you have to be with the controller. And if your too close it appears as if they dont work or are malfunctioning. So keep that in mind when testing em. Also I think you can flip each controller between player 1/2 from the controller itself. So could use 1 controller and just flip the switch to player 1/2 and be a cool kid playing as luigi off the same controller in SMB.
I have a Pico, still in the box never opened. There were other Pico games as well, like a Berenstain Bears one, a Magic School Bus and Sonic and Tails games. I collect Tiger handhelds as well. Think I'm at about 50 right now. Have some still new in the package as well, like The Lion King and the Nightmare Before Christmas. Sometimes I'll go all in on a rare one especially if it's one I've never seen before or if I'm sure I'll never find it again. That Castlevania III canvas is pretty cool too!
i had so many of those tiger games as a kid. my favorites were sonic 2 and 3, and power rangers...and aladdin...and batman...and- all right i liked all of them. the only one i have left is a dragonball z one though. and i noticed the size difference too, like the disney ones were always the biggest ones though i noticed.
I played quite a few lcd games as a kid. The one really good Tiger game was Pinball, while their Jurassic Park was especially unpleasant, physically brutal. The best of all was a Garfield game from Konami.
OMG! My cousin had a Pico! I remember playing with that Ricard Scary book. So many feels! I also remember I Had a Tiger Electronic that was Shinobi and it was a larger one that was blue, I love those Canvas as well. I love Bulby too! This is like Xmas for me!
Nice score on that Sears SVA! That's the best version you can get.. Besides the lavish color scheme w/ gold accents, it has detachable, original style controllers, which is a must have. BTW, the Sears top is interchangeable with the bottom, original model Intellivision. In fact, my main console is a Frankenstein mis match of both. Be sure to treat yourself to an LTO Flash cart, if you haven't already. Also, nice score on Polar Rescue too.. That's a toughie to find and it's in great shape. Hope to see more Vectrex vids from you and Mike. Take care and Happy Holidays to yins! Cheers
I just got the wireless NES controllers. Added note they won't work on a clone console my Gamer Tech Hd it doesn't work. You should check out Mercari app it's like Ebay but you can get really good deals on games on there. And if I refer you, you get 10% off your first purchase. My gifts for gamers pickups were Hang on and Safari hunt for the master system and Supreme warrior for the 3DO.
I was aware of the Sega Pico but never owned one. I was already a tween by the time I'd heard of it, and had a Sega Genesis by then. I've scored a good bit of Genesis, Super NES, Saturn, and PS1 games as of late thanks to some flea market trips. These weren't all in the same trip, though.
Great pick ups Erin!! I definitely won't mind more pick ups videos from you. I've picked up some gameboy games and Michael Jackson moonwalker on the sega Genesis. Love the castlevania 3 canvas. It's my favorite game series of all time. Merry Christmas Erin 🎄🎄. Looking forward to more of your videos.
All of your pick ups are great. Bulbasaur was my favorite! I hope you do a Tiger Electronics handheld video. I have a bunch of them from when I was growing up. I still have Mega Man 3, Sonic the Hedgehog, Chip 'N' Dale's Rescue Rangers, Inspecter Gadget (I had to send in something from a cereal box to get that one) and I think I'm forgetting something but I can't remember what. Love this video Erin!
Im late to this party too lol..but i just stumbled and subbed yesterday..i absolutely love retro games i just turned 34 and my nes/sega/snes collection is getting ridiculously big now :))
Love to watch more of your pickups and my pickups was a Ms pacman arcade cabinet and the nes classic edition also got joust arcade cabinet for Christmas and picked up sailor Moon and Pokemon and Castlevania DVDs hope to watch more pickups
This pick-up video was very interesting, never knew Sega would endorse a interactive reader thing. Also the Castlevania box art is fricken rad. Would be so cool to have one of those hanging in my room.
The wireless controllers, they are "shooting lasers cuz...all the power" that sounds like a Nerd joke LOL. Great video!! lots of cool things i didnt know about, and also i love those charity events, they are for a noble cause, about things we gamers like (Just like GDQ) and chartity streams like the ExtraLife project. I would deinitley like to see more of these videos!! Keep up the good work!!
For most of this episode I was trying to figure out why Mayor McCheese was painting that polka dot tie out of existence. The rest of the time I was enjoying the hypnotic Christmas decor; very festive and sparkly.
Man...I had one of these Sega handhelds, mine was Sonic 3. I've had TONS of fun with it, although the game itself wasn't that great. I wish I could still have it nowadays, but I don't now what happened to it.
I loved my tiger handhelds and wish I would have kept them. My friend gave me his X-Men one. there's a video game store in Toronto Canada that that has most of them but of course they're totally overpriced. At least they were a couple years ago.
Tele-Games? More like Hell ya games! Amirite? I used to have some Tiger games. I had that Castlevania one (wish I still had it to add to my Castlevania collection), Double Dragon, and Batman.
I used to have a neibor who had an intellivision I used to play at his house now those are retro I loved River raid great shoot em up game this was in the early ninties

Thanks so much! 🤗
I worked at Mad Catz when we made that light gun and helped design it to an extent. Our initial instructions were to make a gun that didn’t look like a gun so we could sell it at Toys R US.
That’s awesome. I’m guessing the designed was Toys R Us approved?

"they're shooting lasers. cause of all the power."
I come for the content, I stay for the A+ color commentary.
You can go very wrong with Gauntlet and Castlevania when Tiger is involved, lol. I believe that Game Gear McDonald's game is called Donald in Magic World or something. I'm glad you finally got it. Thanks for the video. Enjoyable as always.
Ah man, I love that Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse box art on canvas! I want one!
The fake burl wood on the Telegames console is freaking awesome.
I have had the interact dreamcast gun since the early 2000s. It works on all US light gun games. I love it!
I love little extra stuff like this in gaming, I always seem to have hardest time getting my hands on any though xD
that sears intellivision is so cool! And looks to be in super excellent condition. Very nice :)
Merry Christmas Erin x Thank you for all your content throughout the year
Merry Christmas to you too! :)
Awesome pick-ups 🤘. I still have my Acclaim wireless controllers. I haven't used em since '90's. I was so excited when I got em way back then. Buy oh man, the controller has to be pointed exactly at the receiver to work properly. Good times 🤘😁

I love the MegaMan background music! Great video as usual.
Officially subscribed. Your knowledge of gaming and personality are so inviting. 😁
Thank you! :D
Erin Plays You're most welcome!
Very cool pick ups and love your love for the older systems!
The Sears Intellivision, such a beauty! Nice vid :)
Isn't it great? And thank you!
Those tiger handhelds are very cool, just all of the weird control schemes they tried. I had the Top Gun one, that was really tall. Not sure if that was a Tiger brand one. PAC MAN Christmas album? What!? Glad to see you pick up Polar Rescue. I think it’s really unique in a positive way and worth owning.
Those are some awesome pick-ups! I'm gonna have to look into getting one of those Peach pro controller for myself now!
The ""Slow motion"" feature in gamepads usually spams the pause button so, imagine the spam of the pause sound from Konami for example :S
I remember playing the Gauntlet tiger handheld. What a find! Enjoy all the cool stuff.
Some of the old consoles look almost like some design items for decorating your apartment.
I have still my old Game&watch Dokey Kong and it looks really nice with orange body with metallic cover.
I love the shade of orange on those. I still don't have any Game & Watches.
Oh my gosh Erin I have so many Tiger handhelds. I have stacks of them for no reason but finding them at thrift stores like ten years ago. Mega Man 2 is a good (bad) one. I love that JP Yoshi's Island. The box is so colorful. SO Happy!
That's awesome!
I'm amazed that the box for Yoshi looks brand new!
Nice pick ups 😊 And happy late birthday Erin! I been picking up a lot of shmups like Super Star Soldier, Final Soldier, Soldier Blade, Nexzr and Gekioh Shooting King PS1. Also been playing alot on Retro Achievements.

Really cool pickups. Especially on that mcdonalds Game gear game. :D
Thanks! I can't wait to try it out :D
Can never go wrong with the music from Megaman 2 always puts me in a good mood. Also music from Castlevania in there.
I picked up both Ren and Stimpy plush at a local warehouse sale.
Merry Christmas Erin
I legit was going to say “OOOOOOH! You should totally play House Of The Dead with that light gun!” As you were saying that. 🤣
Haha, well now I can!
I love that Yoshi print! I wish I had one like it. So jealous!
Definitely so more pick up vids! Love these. Recently picked up Illbleed on the Dreamcast, Die Hard Arcade on Saturn (cause Christmas) and Valkyria Chronicles on PS3.
Nice! I've been wanted to play Illbleed so I'm way jealous.
I have that Interact gun. It works on US games. Works in VGA mode as well.
Ah, sweet! Thanks for letting me know.
Tiger hand helds were my jam in the 90s. I would watch a video, if you do one in the future!
The fact that the Japanese version is called 'Yossy Island' makes it essential. Plus, I really like those glossy, quick-reference instruction cards that come with some SFC games.
The Sega Pico actually had a couple of Sonic games released for it, which is something that I also remembered about the console as well. :D
Nice haul Erin I sometimes find cool things here in Maine.
My sister grew up with the SEGA Pico and I ended up playing with it more. It was a lot of fun! Awesome pickups!
I have those same double player wireless controllers they are sort of cool when used properly. that IR wireless technology back then has a "optimal" operating distance of minimum of like 6-8 feet and maximum 20 feet..the farther you go away the more "aimed" you have to be with the controller. Ah that’s good to know. Thanks for the info!
Hey Erin,i loved Richard Scarry books, the drawings were always great and have fun with the Tiger games, some of them ain't too bad really!

That is some awesome stuff, I never see vectrex anything your so lucky
I always thought I was alone! I also collect the Japanese versions of some of my favourite games!
Always interesting what you come across Erin. Wireless "power" controllers for the nes?? Didn't know those even existed! Lol
Interesting pick-ups.
Oh, you have a Bulbasaur! :O My favorite Pokemon.
Eu desconhecia completamente esse console da Sega...
Simon's Quest on a Tiger game. Now THAT is the real worst night to have a curse.
Very cool stuff! Simon's Quest box-art looks awesome. Nice array of game related finds. SEGA!
Well you have fun with your Bulbasaur.
I just started watching your videos. You are always so chill, i like that. It calms me down.
Thanks :)

That MadCatz lightgun should work fine, I had 2 of those when I got my Dreamcast in 99 and they worked fine with House of the Dead
I had a Sega Pico when I was a kid. Man that brings back memories
OMG! My cousin had a Pico! I remember playing with that Ricard Scary book. So many feels! I also remember I Had a Tiger Electronic that was Shinobi and it was a larger one that was blue, I love those Canvas as well. I love Bulby too! This is like Xmas for me!
As a fellow hoarder I appreciate this
Love that mega man 2 music in the back ground!!
The big Bulbasaur is so cute.

I'm thinking about doing a pickups video soon before the year leaves. Handhelds you got me wanting to pick up especially. Lol
Oh man I remember those Tiger handheld games. I never owned any but the other kids at school would let me try them sometimes.
That Sega pico is strange indeed. Simons quest is the only tiger hand held I'd ever want.
I love that Princess Peach controller! 💗
Maybe Mike can give you one of his Castlevania pieces from the AVGN episodes to put on your wall, I always thought those were fantastic.
great videos your gaming knowledge is wonderful! keep up the great work 👍
You can definitely go wrong with tiger handheld simons quest 😂
How did you put on that sweater so fast?
Great pick ups Erin!! I definitely won't mind more pick ups videos from you. I've picked up some gameboy games and Michael Jackson moonwalker on the sega Genesis. Love the castlevania 3 canvas. It's my favorite game series of all time. Merry Christmas Erin 🎄🎄. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Nice! I've only played Moonwalker in the arcade, never the Genesis version. And thank you! Merry Christmas to you too ☃️
The wireless controllers are awesome. Probably the coolest controllers from the 8 bit/16 bit days at least in my opinion
All of your pick ups are great. Bulbasaur was my favorite! I hope you do a Tiger Electronics handheld video. I have a bunch of them from when I was growing up. Nice Vectrex pick up! Have fun with it!
You have definitely improved your lighting setup! In some of your older videos, you looked like Two Face. 😁
Im late to this party too lol..but i just stumbled and subbed yesterday..i absolutely love retro games i just turned 34 and my nes/sega/snes collection is getting ridiculously big now :))
I still have nightmares regarding the Tiger handheld Virtua Fighter.

Gauntlet is by far my favorite arcade game
I recently played it on NES and GameCube for the first time. I enjoyed the GameCube version more, which surprised me!
For most of this episode I was trying to figure out why Mayor McCheese was painting that polka dot tie out of existence. The rest of the time I was enjoying the hypnotic Christmas decor; very festive and sparkly.
Great vid! Have a wonderful holiday
That Pokemon Pinball thing is pretty neat
back in the day things were AWESOME TO THE MAX
Man...I had one of these Sega handhelds, mine was Sonic 3. I've had TONS of fun with it, although the game itself wasn't that great. I wish I could still have it nowadays, but I don't now what happened to it.
I loved my tiger handhelds and wish I would have kept them. My friend gave me his X-Men one. there's a video game store in Toronto Canada that that has most of them but of course they're totally overpriced. At least they were a couple years ago.
Probably more expensive now
Tele-Games? More like Hell ya games! Amirite? I used to have some Tiger games. I had that Castlevania one (wish I still had it to add to my Castlevania collection), Double Dragon, and Batman.
Thats really neat.. Dont see something like that very often lol
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :)
Tiger hand held I had double dragon... Classic throwback gaming yo 👍🏿 #nostalgia #Gamer4life #oggamer

The Akklaim wireless controllers suck. 😂 Sorry. I played the demo for the new Yoshi game and like it.
