Hey guys, I know I’m a bit out of focus. I’m still getting used to my new camera and I didn’t realize this until I was done filming. Sorry. I figured it wasn’t bad enough to be unusable so I used the footage.
Haha entiendo el ingles pero no se leerlo que raro vaya hasta que veo un video de una chica gamer que si se ve que le apasionan los video juegos de verdad
Super Spike V'ball was my first NES game. It came with my NES along with a soccer game. The theme music for Japan vs Daytona is still one of my favorite pieces of NES music.
Awesome pick ups Erin! I really dig that ball controller. Can't wait to see that video. I've never seen that kind of controller before. Those 2 amibos are hard to find right now. I'm glad Igot mine when I did. Nice job with the vid!
Hey I noticed your copy of Astyanax had the label peeling in the bottom corner. You could use a craft glue stick so it doesn't get worse. That is what I use on cartridges with peeling labels. You can also do that with ones that are starting to peel, so they don't get worse by using a toothpick and putting a dab of glue. Anyway cool video, yeah for sure do more pickups videos in the future.
So glad you got a copy of Killer Bees! It's surprisingly complex for a game that uses such a simple mechanic for moving the enemies; namely, one color moves clockwise every time they encounter an obstacle, the other color moves counter-clockwise. Knowing this can really improve your score. Concentrate on one color of enemies, then the other. It makes their movement much more predictable.
Nice job Erin! You mentioned pinball games.... If you dig them... one of the best SEGA GENESIS pinball games is called: Dragons Fury: It's a fantasy/macabre/gothic horror inspired Pinball game... excellent soundtrack/graphics... RIGHT UP YOUR ALLEY, stream it!!!!
This was the antidote to the Capital impeachment footage I just watched. A sincere thank you. Discovered your channel very recently. I find it very soothing.
The NES Satellite was an interesting device. It allowed 4 players but because it's inferred it has to be pointed directly at the receiver within a certain amount of feet. Since it's wireless there is some noticeable lag as well. It came out during a time where anything wireless was considered mind blowing but now a days there are better ways. Still a neat collectible though.
Lots of cool finds. Looking forward to seeing the robot and Killer Bees. It’s one of my favorite Odyssey 2 games and I am pretty sure you can use your voice module with it.
The Voice module does work with Killer Bees. It makes a buzzing sound at the beginning of each round; and if you get a multiplier by not losing any of your swarm, it says "s-s-score" at the end of the round.
dude sick gameboy advance!!!! im definitely looking into that, didnt even know it was a thing lol. Astyanax is dope, awesome nes controller but ur right thats gonna b shit 😂😂😂😂😂. Awesome video erin i love these
I had a satellite. It's infrared so you have to point the satellite pretty directly at the receiver. To me, the fourscore is better. World Cup Soccer is a good four player game made by the same folks as Super Spike Vball and River City Ransom.
Excited for that Odyssey 2 video. I just stumbled upon that system last year and was blown away by how good its games were. Haven't played Killer Bees! but being one of the best games on Odyssey 2 is a very high bar.
So cool that you got that dingbot! I had one when I was a kid and it got lost over the years and then I saw one on eBay last year and I just couldn't resist😂
I ordered the pink Saturn controller and also totally forgot about it when it was delivered. I actually intended to use it but I bought their wireless controller and use that instead. It's great!
Never seen that NES Satellite thing before. i imagine it must be an infrared receiver. I remember having Mega Drive pads that connected like that and if anything went between the pad and the console they'd stop working. Those Tomy bots were cool. The Dingbot had a bunch of maps I think. A friend at school had it. i think we were meant to believe it was following the map it held.
I had the wireless controllers for my first Genesis back in '94. They had a device you plugged into the controller ports and you used AA batteries in the controllers and it did use infared. They worked pretty well and I didn't really have any issues with them. I bought them for like $30 the same time I bought my Genesis at Best Buy.
NES satellite works really good. Even with the light gun. It was my only way of getting 4 players into the Nightmare on Elm Street game And SUPERSPIKE V-Ball! ...Ultra Racer controllers came in pairs
Nice video as always. I had that game Astaynax, played it but never continued to beat it. I felt I regretted not finishing it. But looking at this video like other videos bought back nostalgic vibes. Keep them coming
Two fishermen went out to sea, and one of them caught a beautiful mermaid. She had a gorgeous body and radiant hair. Beautiful smile. She was almost perfect. But the fisherman who caught her shook his head and threw her back. Stunned, his friend asked in disbelief, "Why?" And he responded, "How?"
Damn I never heard of Astyanax. Looks like a cross between Castlevania and Splatterhouse. Giant sprites and clunky movement. I'll try to remember it for Halloween this year. Yeah i really like these show n tell type vids for inspiration.
So, aside from the fact that Superspike V-Ball is an amazing game, it's also the perfect game to test out your NES Satellite! KABOOOM! Spikes and those victory dances are great. I also loved the special matches against the US Navy (Coolest level) and the USSR. Finally, I can't believe I never knew this growing up, but you can use a Game Genie and unlock 4 girl teams. I HAD NO IDEA!!! Well, I'm headed back to obscurity. Playing some Rollerblade Racer for NES on my end of the world lol.
Great buys! 👍 Side Note: if you are wanting to donate to charity, etc. and you are looking to more than just a tax right-off etc. The Susan G. Komen Foundation is a joke. They are the equivalent of a "Gluten Free" label on lunch meat.
Great pick ups video Erin!! You're kinda inspiring me to get back into retro game buying again. I had a nice collection of games but had to sell them due to financial reasons😞. Can't wait to get back on the retro game scene again.
Astyanax was one of my faves when I was 10, Erin! ❤️ and I also had an OD2 from Magnavox! You should try a game called THE QUEST FOR THE RING. Kind of a Vectrex vibe and all.
fuzer909 That’s crazy! I never knew they existed. Granted, my hometown didn’t have a Target (and still doesn’t), so it’s not too surprising. Weird that I never even saw this through the Internet until now though.
I love the NES Satallite. I used it all the time when I was younger to play NES Play Action Football with my friends. But I think I had my NES on the floor and then the Satallite sat on the floor close to me, so it had a direct line of sight. I haven't really used it in recent times because of the 8bitdo controllers/receivers, which do not require direct line of sight to work. I liked. It's cool, but it does require 4 C batteries.
I have Terminator 2 licensed Cheetah Joystick (9 pin) which is basiclly a terminator head with a fire button on it, bearly usable, but looks cool on my shelf
The only way someone would like Castlevania 64 is if that was their only game (which wasn't rare back in that days) I like your nails, they're pretty cool.
I had Castlevania 64 after I'd already gotten Star Wars Podracer, Super Mario 64, and Starfox 64. The game I played after it, iirc, was Ocarina of Time. I thought they were all good games, and I still think that. Personally, I feel it's harder to judge early 3D games because we've come so far with that technology. It's easier to know a bad 2D game when you play one, but things like "muddy graphics, tinny sound, floaty controls, bad camera angles", I hate to break it to ya, but pretty much ALL early 3D games suffered from that to some extent. Yes, even Mario 64. The difference was all about how fast a player could acclimate to the flaws.
I had castlevania in about 1980 on the Dragon 32... It was a text game... Graphics if any way were very minimal... The dragon hardly had any games.... Copies from tape to tape was always hit and miss.... Only got Defender to load once.. Now I want an amiga 500 for making music...
I mentioned Astyanax a while back to you. I'm glad you tried it :) and yeah it is pronounced Ass-tie-uh-nax. Great game though! P.S. If you like Sanrio stuff like me then you should play Hello Kitty World and Hello Kitty's Flower Shop for NES. Also Sanrio Smash Ball for the Super Famicom
You got the inferior version of castlevania 64, castlavania legacy of darkness is the complete version. Also hate to add your camera was out of focus. Thanks for the pick ups video.
You got some great stuff Erin. Hope they are of great use. 😊 I always thought that kid was Ariel's brother when I was young and indeed that game is super awful. 😂
It was ahead of it's time, just like the Atari wireless controllers. I love how everything for the NES had that futuristic look to it. Cool story, when I was still in High School I was the only one known to own an NES. People would come over to my house and were blown away to have seen one and that it worked! Then I went to Youth Group at church and I met these Seniors who had a ton of NES games. They brought the NES to the Group and a backpack full of NES games. This was years after the NES was out, we are talking 2004. Not only did they have a ton of games but, The Four Score, The Power Pad and even that Shot Headset thing where you say Fire! Now everyone has a RUclips channel and collects NES. So cool!
The Castlevania N64s are a little rough, they're playable for maybe 10-15 minutes and then they get really old. I like me some ass-tee-and-necks, I mean, Astaynax, and I'm really bad at Karnov. I guess the Ultra Racer 64 was supposed to be an answer to the PS1 steering wheel. Probably works just as well too. That Target GBA is really cool, and Dingbot looks too cute! We need more pickup videos!
I own and beaten all "classic' style Castlevania games up to GBA. I've got to say the N64 games are tedious and boring. There some cool aspects sure, but they play like a broken Ocarina of Time, without a solid story. Thank god for Symphony of the Night...
Konami had a tough time trying to make a 3D Castlevania game back when everyone thought everything had to made like Tomb Raider or Mario 64, but finally people realized some games only really work in 2D.
Holy smackers! You got a copy of Disney's Pixar Cars. I wish I was you... Any chance of a sonic movie review? You or Mike or both would be fine. Love Stinger music in the background. Nerd enchantment!!
I remember reading about the NES Satellite. I have a feeling it’s not going to work that great, we did not have wireless technology figured out back then.
I'm 3 years late to your comment, but not all wireless stuff was bad back then. The Atari 2600 had wireless controllers that worked off radio frequencies and worked well.
7:18 I don't know how "Astyanax" is pronounced, but I'm pretty sure the red retail store is _Tar Zhay_ :P 10:40 I was gonna wait to get the DVD's, but I just got a Hulu subscription and found out the Sailor Moon TV series (both the old one & the new Crystal) are available there.
The UltraRacer 64 controller is _really good,_ so I hope yours works. That is one of my favorite old, weird controllers. If it does, it is most definitely a gem from that pile of crap :) I also hope that weird-looking Joyball is a pleasant surprise. Definitely enjoy your pick-up videos, so hope this isn't the only one you'll do in 2020. Thanks for showing these things off - DingBot rules!
Multiple comments: Didn't know you were a fellow Californian. My cousins had the NES Satellite. We didn't have that many problems using it. But it's not fully reliable either. great video as always so charming
No apologies necessary it's all good I usually have lighting issues so I completely understand.
Ha. I was about to comment this to you.
Erin: Ariel's got a kid, but that's not important.
Me: 😮 Wait, what?
Nate Marx Only Ariel is important
Maury Povich: Prince Eric, You Are *Not* The Father!
Super Spike V'ball was my first NES game. It came with my NES along with a soccer game. The theme music for Japan vs Daytona is still one of my favorite pieces of NES music.
Great video, Erin! So fun seeing the sun drenched video game covers! I enjoy retro games!
Ding-Bot needs more friends
I’m getting them!
I had one of those Dingbots back when i was a kid, i completely forgot about it until you showed it then all those memories came back :)
Wow, Erin! What was I thinking when I avoided all your past "pick-up" videos? I love the way you present these.
I’m glad you gave this one a chance! I just like doing them every now and then :)
Me: "talk dirty to me"
Her: "ASTYANAX"
Me: "oh God yes"
Awesome pick ups Erin! I really dig that ball controller. Can't wait to see that video. I've never seen that kind of controller before. Those 2 amibos are hard to find right now. I'm glad Igot mine when I did. Nice job with the vid!

Yeah, super spike vball is great

Browsing ebay at midnight. You made me smile when you said that as now I know I'm not alone. 😁 Fun video!
Cool pick-ups Erin! Way to go!

Love seeing cool pickups but I absolutely love that nail polish! Totes jelly of that.
I have never even heard of the NES satellite..guess that shows how much of a gamer I am. And shows how much of a gamer you are. Great video.
@11:30 those Castlevania amibos are awesome! I don't play Smash Bros either Erin, but I would definitely buy those amibos.
I just spent almost 20 dollars to buy a Tomy windup bot. It completed a set that started with one I played with at my grandparents' house.
That’s awesome :)

I don't care what anyone says, Castlevania on N64 is great and everyone I knew around that time really liked it
I liked Castlevania 64, Legacy of Darkness too also have both boxes
So many awesome finds 😊
Although I don't own a Switch, it is so awesome to see Simon & Richter represented 🦇

You pick up games for collecting them or to playing them ?
Playing them. My channel is mostly play throughs and I stream multiple times a week......

Erin I too love Super Spike V as well. Its a really fun game.
The Castlevania amiibos look great. The whips like they're alive!
Those are freaking dope! I want those as Rondo Of Blood is my favorite game of all time.
@@atranfanatic Yeah, they definately look worth it!
Target GBA? Say whaaaat? Cool stuff. Love these videos!
Did you get a Saturn to use with that controller or you just like the controller?
So if Dingbot was marketed in 1984 as coming from the not-so-distant future, does that mean he comes from... now?
Super Spike v ball is awesome! Played the crap out of that game
I remember my brother had HootBot. It was a little robot Owl from Tomy. It didn't do much. But it was still pretty cool.
There was a Target Edition GBA!? You learn something new every day I guess.
When I worked for Target in the early 2000s we had a very limited supply of them. Maybe 5 total were sent to us.
fuzer909 That’s crazy! I never knew they existed. Granted, my hometown didn’t have a Target (and still doesn’t), so it’s not too surprising. Weird that I never even saw this through the Internet until now though.

Oh wow, I haven’t seen Cars on Gamecube in forever. It’s half racing, half adventure, and it’s an overall fun experience. I hope you enjoy it!

Many fond memories of Castlevania 64

Karnov is bugged. There were times where I would just die randomly for no reason. Sometimes at the spawn point. Ended up managing to beat it, anyway.
PS: Fun fact, Braum from League of Legends is basically an Ice Karnov.
Aw man that sucks! Didn’t know that.
The only way someone would like Castlevania 64 is if that was their only game (which wasn't rare back in that days)
I like your nails, they're pretty cool.

Nice doll. Sailor Mars is my favorite sailor senshi.
Wonder if it could be Timothy McVeighs old game? Nice Pick-ups. I picked up the Oculus Quest, pretty neat system.

Same here. When you think you know most of the noteworthy games from the 700 plus catalogue of games an undiscovered gem shows up.
