No pun intended but you guys really deserve a medal for this - a real poignant mix of emotions here - the ridiculously jolly 'marching into a living hell' song is just so sad on so many level. Good job. Skilfully done, leaving things open to interpretation
Jo Par Indeed! The original song was written in 1917 as satire & a swipe at the appalling conditions soldiers had to contend with. Still it became a popular song amongst soldiers, so it's quite humbling to think that even during what most of been the closest thing to hell on earth, they could sing such a jolly song so ironically! Power of the human spirit!
Two Angry Gamers TV, on Christmas 1914, the German's put up a sign saying 'Gott mitt uns' meaning God is with us, the British also put up a sign: 'We've got mittens too!' Typical British humour!
Good god, this is one of the best things to ever exist.
