Hey JB, I’m good at doing wake to wake jumps and I want to progress. What would be the best trick for me to learn? I was thinking a 360 or a tantrum/backroll. Please let me know and when you do please make a video on it. Thank you and I love your videos!
I have a video on all of those tricks on my channel! Honestly they are all equivalent difficulty, maybe a 360 is slightly harder. So you pick which one you want to do
I can tantrum and toeside backroll, for some reason the heel side backroll was intimidating for me. Also I want to learn how to toeside front roll or scarecrow so I’d have 4 inverts. Thanks for the short tutorials.
Awesome stuff JB!.. I'm about 100 attempts in.. & real close.. I reckon keeping the handle at the front hip (&initiating later) is gonna get it for me! 🤞
@@jboneill One day? Oh man... you totally need the hype man, OneNGlen out there.... I will build your confidence and you will be bangin those in no time at all! haha
Hello, great job, thanks for the vids.My backroll looks more like mexican...!also i can't get that height, my spins are quite fast and i have difficult times spotting the landings, its more "luck" will i lend it or not :) What speed of the boat is this?Thanks/ P.s. i am usually riding around 19 mph, Malibu wakesetter VLX from 2002 , usually without ballasts and many people on board, although, i doubt the wake is a problem :(
I can get pretty close. I can land board first consistently, but just way on my heels and then slips out to my butt.. not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ll try keeping my elbows pinched in and see if that helps!
Been trying these on the cable for the last few sessions (regular stance on anti clockwise cable) and I land a few but always butt checking. I guess I am not keeping the handle in...
I’ve landed this once but am so inconsistent with my take off. Sometimes I get big air and easily get full rotation and other times I fall hard. My progressive edge is good but I have no idea if I will end up with big air or big distance. Would you know what I’m doing?
Would you know the difference between getting distance vs air? Is it when you push off the wake, sooner rather than later? Or where you weight is? Front foot or back foot? I’ve been playing with it and can’t figure out past edge in hard
@@jboneill I haven’t been looking over my lead shoulder and I’m pretty sure that will fix my issue. I get my full rotation and land but will too much tension in the rope so I have to Let go
I’m gonna be surprised if you don’t have a double down by next summer. Hell I think you might have it down before then. That hang time was mega and it looks effortless
I have a question, i cant get my wake to wake jumps i dont have the best wake but i think its big enough i also think my technique is pretty good, now my bord is pretty beginner/basic does it make sence to replace it with a more intermediate bord or doesnt it make that much of a difference?
Up to you, obviously a good board will help, but it’s not 100% necessary but will for sure make it easier, maybe try a shorter rope length also. If you are looking for nicer gear at a good price check out boardco.com For 10% off anything on the site use product code JBONEILL at checkout 😊
Landed my first back roll today!!!! First flip on a wakeboard and studied this video multiple times to get there. Thanks so much for the help!!!!!!!
congrats!
I was always landing with the other foot on front and nobody knew the reason until I saw your tutorial. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help!
You are so good about reading comments it is insane. You are a genuine person. It is amazing.
I try and go through them all 😊 I’m pretty bad about it on Instagram though

Is it more looking over your shoulder than putting your ear to your back shoulder?

Your speed sounds correct, I am running a lot more weight than you so I’m at about 22.8mph
Airbud cameo is awesome. LOL
Hahaha

A can barely do 1 hahaha
@@jboneill 😂😂
@@jboneill try temper tantrum again like you did 10 years ago!
Barely do one??? He is bangin out backrolls like nothing. I agree, DUB behind the boat next!

I think wakeboard more, probably just need more water time
Would you know the difference between getting distance vs air? Is it when you push off the wake, sooner rather than later? Or where you weight is? Front foot or back foot? I’ve been playing with it and can’t figure out past edge in hard

I spent all summer to learn this trick but in the end is only asslandings :))))
Haha ouch

If the weather gets warm and we add fat sacs I think can, this is stock ballast
@@jboneill Dayum! That fatty wake is stock? That will be a monster once you piggyback it.
Can the falls be painful? And is a helmet necessary?
sometimes it hurts and nah I dont recommend a helmet for riding behind the boat

Thanks so much bro
Hey JB! I Just tried my first backroll like 1 hour ago but Landed with my nose againt my knee :(
Any tips for me?
Ouch! Keep trying
So cool
U make IT look so Easy bro 😛
Haha thanks man!!
How fast should you set the boat
It all depends on how long your rope is and how much weight is in the boat
This was 75ft rope at 22.8mph
I keep accidentally doing more of a front flip instead of the cartwheel what should I do?
Make it you’re own
Thanks for the vid bro
Any time!!
More to come!!
Thx for the tips
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
i think ill just send one of these with no intention of landing it, looks fun
Send itttt
I’m having problems tucking when I get off the wake
