So glad to have found something that works my entire body and is challenging but doesn’t make me want to die inside! Thanks Katie😊

I wish I had found this video sooner! I haven’t taken a formal ballet class in nearly ten years, but I’ve been dancing for fun and noticed my technique isn’t what it used to be. After a few months of doing this regularly, I feel so much stronger and in control, and I feel like I could actually get my turns back to decent condition ! 😊 Also, my ankles have never been this strong, and I’ve been dancing since age 2 or 3.
Even though this is now 5 years old I still come back to this workout video time and time again - so good I do it every day on school break away from ballet 💗💗
I loved this so much. I'm always very wary of workouts from non-dancers; I'm scared that I'll injure myself or work the wrong muscles. It's so nice to have one especially for dancers, with stretching included too! I used two pairs of dead pointe shoes as weights!
I haven't danced in over 20 years, and am currently undergoing cancer treatment, including having surgery recently. This is the perfect stretching and conditioning routine for my current fitness and health level. Thank you Kathryn for bringing dance back into my life in a meaningful and doable way. I have also been doing your beginner barre routine, and I love it! You can't possibly know how happy this has made me, and how much hope it brings me to be able to get some of my "old" life back!
KM: You might get a hip pop- Me: Ooooo I got one! Also, I'm usually not able to get all the way down into the splits on my right side, but today I did! :)
Thank you for saving me! Love your workouts and your “real” personality- I am a former ballet dancer (60yrs old now) and after running and cycling for the past ten years, I am getting back to my body- it feels so great! Thank you❤️.
Thank you so much for this video. I feel like it's the workout I've always been searching for. I did ballet for 13 years though now I don't do so much but I still orient as a ballerina and my body remembers the things and the muscles and appreciates this SO much!
God I haven’t danced in three years and I definitely fell out of shape in that time frame, this work out killed me! I’m starting classes again this week, so my plan in to do this workout once a week to help with classes! Wish me luck
Wow, Katie, you look so good! And, I always enjoy how colorful and happy your wardrobe always looks! Thanks for all the effort you put into making all your videos beautiful!
I honestly love this video so much. As a beginner it was the perfect routine because although I’m not as open as you the exercises were doable and watching you served as inspiration! Plus your personality is just the sweetest. Thank you!!
I'm seriously addicted to this workout! I've been having knee problems so I'm not able to do much barre and center work, but I've been doing this workout twice a week for the last year, and the updated version instead whenever I want to do something different. It's been too easy for a while now, which I like, (who doesn't like easy? 😃) but I'm finally adding ankle weights for the leg, abs, and back workouts, and a theraband for the turnout exercise. I plan to increase the ankle weights and the thickness of the theraband slowly. I want to stay strong and pray that I can get back to the barre soon!
Wow, I tried your beginner ballet barre exercise after not dancing for decades, and so much muscle memory came back. Then decided to do this workout and I LOVE it. I can't complete all the exercises yet, but your instruction and knowledge of anatomy are the clearest I've ever encountered. I so appreciate you taking the time to make these videos and the detail of instruction that goes into them.
I'm not a dancer, but I do ballet strength and stretching workouts to complement my stepping (12in step) workouts. Stepping tightens your quadriceps leg muscles so much, stretching workouts are a must. Thank you for this workout. Good luck in Miami.
Dear Kathryn, I’ve been following your channel for almost five years. Today I want to thank you for sharing your journey with us and giving us so much useful and empowering advice and information. You are an inspiration for everyone, and such a wonderful role model for dance students and dancers, and everybody else. You spread positivity, respect and human warmth, and this is so important in this era of hate speech, indifference and egocentrism.
Dear Katie, after 1 year following your ballet barres i just discovered I am able to stand up again from my bathtube by myself! I was so thrilled and overjoyed after many years not been able to do it without the help of my husband, that I almost cry of joy! Due to my Lupus condition since I was 28 I used to have inflammation in my joints and my knees remained thereafter weak. But it seems your barres have made my legs stronger. So, talking about what motivates us to do ballet, for me it is so simple as being able to take a bath by myself ! And just for this, I am eternally grateful for your lovely, fun and motivating classes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
i am a 62 year old amateur dancers with various physical issues i have to work around. Your class is great and to my delight many of the exercises and routines that I have devised for myself recur in the class as well. The older you get, the more important to stay in shape!
Amazing workout! After regularly doing it for 3 weeks I finally reached my splits (have been working on them for years!!!) and have so much strength to hold my turnout.
