Nonsense. Vegetarian cakes are available in many bakeries now. They use cake mix with no egg. Veg cake mixes can be made or purchased to bake at home. Idli,dosas, chappatis are available everywhere. Soy milk can be used if one is not comfortable with dairy milk. In the west restaurants like Subway make veggie sandwich right before you. There is not much difficulty in being a vegetarian in most places of the world.
Very poor logic - he seems uneducated on veganism being practised (more than just vegetarianism). It requires less cultivable land, not more. Practical difficulties are true, but facilities and suitable food products will become more easily available when more people shun animal / dairy products. It is not about moral superiority but acknowledging that animals (unlike plants) are sentient beings (feel pain). So, it is about minimising their exploitation for the sake of our taste buds. By the way, i am not a vegan and i am guilty as much as the speaker - but i don't like to deny facts.
