Visited Pasig Line street in Sta Ana, Manila after hearing about the terrible fire that devastated the area last New Year's Day. The house where I grew up is on the same street.

(update march 2020- we were able to raise P60,000 from the two bar gigs and online donations. i thank everyone who came to the shows and donated online. i turned over the funds to our friends in phil red cross after they helped me identify the needs of the community (at that time it was pails and basins). PRC immediately ordered the items but unfortunately, before we could get the items, we fell into Covid 19 Enhanced Community Quarantine.
these items will be distributed once the Quarantine period is lifted but i am very sad because i could have acted with even more urgency i know how much this couldve helped during this even more difficult time. my deepest apologies to the community. :(
update feb 16,2020 - turnout to the feb 5 fundraiser was very low due to ncov fears that week. hoping more people show up in 70s bistro this feb 19. we will consolidate all donations immediately after and will donate w the assistance of phil red cross manila chapter. will give further updates here. thanks to thos who have donated already 🙏)

Hi Rico,magkapit bahay pala tayo before. We are just one house away. Ung dati na ang bakod ay puro kawayan at may tindhan. Kapag nakaharap ka sa bahay nyo pangalawang bahay kami sa kaliwa. Maybe you can ask your mom or siblings UY family. My mom and titas and titos are half Chinese. Glad to hear about your childhood days nakapagreminisce din ako. What struck me the most is Rico's sharp memory. He was only 10 years old when he left the house but vividly remember almost every detail of the memories he had with the house. Just wow!

Idol! Isa po ako sa apo ni Maria Morales at Rogelio Morales Sr na sumunod na nakabili ng bahay ninyo. Tiyahin ko po yan c Tita Rose na kausap nyo sa vlog mo. Sa Aragon po kami nakatira.Grabe! Di po ako makapaniwala na yung isa sa hinahangaan ko ay tumira sa bahay ng lola ko! Natuwa ako at naiyak nung napanuod kong umupo ka sa baldosa ng hagdan. Ramdam ko na namiss mo yung bahay. Madami din kaming alaala sa bahay na yan at pinagmamalaki ko na lumaki din kami jan.

It's Rico's old house, but why am I getting emotional from watching this? Perhaps it is that feeling of coming home, reminding me of our old house back in the province. The old rooms and wooden staircases, the creaky beds, and wide airy windows, the familiar faces of neighbours you felt you've known your entire life. This video screams nostalgia, childhood memories not quite forgotten. Isang quality content na naman!

This is what I loved about Sir Rico blanco. He is being so true and simple. Na inspired ako talaga, kasi nagustohan ko talaga ang character niya. He so simple, kind and caring (halata naman sa the way he talks and acts infront of people). Sir Rico Blanco thank you po! I grew up in sta ana as well, Lamayan St, been a choir member at Our Lady of Abandoned Church, tambay sa Plaza Hugo, graduated at Mariano Marcos, na touched ako sa video mo idol, somehow i also felt the same way as you do, so many memories of my childhood days, thank you so much, God bless you always for your generosity and kind heart.
