      @@jessicakabelwelter2774 yeah, in most cases the police can't actually do something unless somebody actually touches you or your property. Like if somebody was stalking you it could be argued that they're allowed to be nearby you (especially if they don't do or say anything to you), because that's not a crime. Which is sad because a lot of people end up assaulted, kidnapped or dead because THAT'S the only point when the police can actually step in.

    what frustrates me is that in all these cases its an ongoing theme that the police don't believe foul play was involved and they waste hours, sometimes days, before they start investigating. its known that the first 48 hours are crucial in disappearances. i feel like if police would believe family members and look ASAP more cases would be solved because evidence is fresh. such a sad case. i hope her family receives the closure they need to properly deal.

      ...If I were the Police, I would of pulled all the office records from her apartment/condo complex (and the adjacent one where her car was found) to see who works in restaurants; at the mall, at Universal, at Disney...custodians, waiters, sous chefs, dish-washers...AND, yes, secondly, "construction." That's some kind of a deal those construction workers got - to have "free" housing right at the same condo complex! Wonder if the office manager got a little extra money from saying, "yes" to the boss of those construction men?!? Surely, a foreman or contractor/builder would be able to give some info regarding the men in the van outside her condo, and this film footage! Sure seems to me that it breaks some governing laws regarding housing guidelines, permits, etc., that men like that were allowed to live on premises in units not yet ready for tenants to rent/purchase! Maybe, the police looked the other way when they were told that, but I'd be suing big time, if I were a tenant! Placing all tenants in jeopardy of their safety to have such "undesirables" actually living in the units under construction?!? That's bizarre, too!

    I'm studying Psychology and Criminology in university and I'm so fascinated with every case. I really want to understand what motivates these people and criminals to do the things that they do, because motive and mental health is everything when it comes to murder and disappearances. I do agree with Bella that it's very likely one of the construction workers had something to do with Jennifer's disappearance/murder but it's so difficult to think of WHY they'd want to do that.....like why on earth would a construction worker be like "I see this woman, I'm going to figure out her schedule and then randomly kill her and dispose of her in this neighborhood" and it's so hard to see how they would benefit from Jennifer dying, you know? Personal homicides are way easier to understand because of the relationship and the emotion involved, but why someone random? It's so strange to me...I hate unsolved cases!!!

      That’s a good point, but I do think it would be very risky and easy to accidentally walk at the “wrong” pace. That being said, I don’t think an abductor would purposely take that chance.

    I’ve been interested in this case for years. I live about 30 minutes away from where she lived and I agree with you that it seems like she vanished into thin air. Unfortunately, human trafficking is very common here in Florida. Though, besides the construction workers cat calling her, whistling at her etc that’s too far fetched to say the construction workers had anything to do with her disappearance unless they were involved in human trafficking. I read the other persons comment on how immigrant construction workers like to stay under the radar, and they most certainly do. I’m Mexican and my father has some Mexican friends who are not citizens, and they stay very low key. Like I said unless some of them were involved in human trafficking, I think it’s unlikely for the construction workers to have had anything to do with her disappearance.

I can only hope one day that she’s found and brought home so her parents can at least have some sort of closure.Thank you for bringing the story to your mystery Mondays.

    What a good idea with the cards! That should be a thing. Like each card can have a different missing person, unsolved case victim, or Doe on the back along with the basic info and what number to call. Distribute them as the main card decks in jails and prisons. It could definitely get inmates talking and get information into the hands of people willing to report. You constantly hear about inmates informing on other inmates that have confessed to them for shorter sentences or privileges. I really think this could be a huge idea!

    I totally feel like it’s the workers??? How sketch is it that they COMPLETELY ignored her brother, asking for help and asking if they had seen her. All they had to do was shake their heads no? And if the sniffer dog lead right back to the bottom of the stairs, that’s directly by where the workers van was and wear they were at. So SKETCH. It could’ve been a cat call gone bad. So sad ): I hate this

    • @lauraterrones9285
      @lauraterrones9285 6 лет назад +23

      Or maybe they aren’t going to lower the window to some random guy frantically yelling and banging on the van. Especially if they are undocumented and with poor English. I don’t think being undocumented and not mastering their second language should be a reason to think they did anything to her.

      I’m not saying anyone did it, but there were reports of peeping toms as well as cat calls and whistles. Her bestfriend also stated that the workers did have a key to her condo.
      It should be mentioned though that the reports actually say the dogs took them to her parking spot at her condo building, not the stairs.

  • @caitlinmarieevans
    @caitlinmarieevans 6 лет назад +44

    I think that someone from her work could have been involved in her disappearance because they were jealous of her.. like you said the firm offered her 3 separate jobs because they really wanted her to work for the company, she was promoted after just a year, she was well liked by all of the staff, and staff members thought she was attractive and wanted to date her. It’s just an idea, but someone could have been so jealous of her “perfect” work life that they wanted her out of the way!

    Definitely just a theory nothing really to back it up but.... I think that the workers in the van that was parked by the stairwell closest to her condo might’ve been involved. They wouldn’t talk to her brother probably because the recognized him. The sniffer dog led the police back to that stairwell so it’s could be possible that maybe the man in the surveillance video was also one of the men in the van. They could’ve canvased her daily routine there and grabbed her as she came down the stairs. The only thing that doesn’t make sense is why would they take her car. If they grabbed her and used the van they wouldn’t need the car. Unless they were trying to buy time and hide it somewhere else but even that doesn’t make much sense. Very interesting case but obviously lacking a lot of evidence of anything.

    • @allisonparks8333
      @allisonparks8333 6 лет назад +1

      What also doesn’t make sense is why the other guys phone would be off. I understand hers but his is kind of strange. Unless she was bringing it with her to work so she could later mail it back but if that’s not the case then the people who took her must’ve known about that phone as well.

      She had a couple of drinks at the wedding party and then fell unconscious in the bathtub... what’s so bizarre about that? Actually I think she's been murdered since she fell in the bath tub at 5:30 pm and died within 15 minuits. Her husband discovered her body a few minutes later but only called the ambulance at 9pm which is weird. Plus she was supposed to have dinner with her husband that night so if she was so intoxicated I don't think they would have had dinner plans hence why she went to take a bath.

    Please tell me what is on your lips? So pretty. Also, this case is heartbreaking. I'd like to add that although I'm not saying the the immigrants/workers did NOT have anything to do with her disappearance, I'd like to throw out that people should keep an open mind when discussing WHY they didn't cooperate or speak with the brother. If they were in fact illegal, they would stay under the radar and avoid speaking to most people, especially anyone wanting to discuss a case or crime. The brother isn't a cop, but anything they said would be taken immediately to the police at which point these illegal immigrants could be deported after a quick background or legal immigration status check. They may have wanted to help and felt bad for the girl, but didn't want to risk being ripped away from their own families for it. What would you do in that situation? Anyway, they may in fact be guilty or maybe just one of them is guilty. Either way, don't jump to conclusion on that small bit of info people. Also, if someone cat-calling and making a woman feel uncomfortable automatically meant they were guilty of a crime or a murderer, half the men in America of all races would be in jail right now. That shit needs to stop because it does make you uncomfortable, especially when you are alone, but it is very common.
