Hi Ken - This is really a masterpiece - one of the greatest live performances ever. This was a worldwide hit song when they dropped it in 1967 - Nearly 40 years later they hook up with the Danish National Symphony and created this Magic - Garry Brookers voice was, IMO, better in his 60's (at the time of this performance) than at any time. Glad you reacted to this epic performance and song - enjoyed it!! Thx

Procol Harum released this song in 1967 and I've always loved listening to that version. However, I believe this live version is far better.
FYI: The chords for this are based on Bach's composition, 'Air in G', which in itself is one of my all-time favorite classical pieces.

My favourite favourite band of all time. The singer is Gary Brooker who also wrote the music for the song back in 1967 and unfortunately passed away in 2022.You should check out more of their music maybe A Salty Dog or Grand Hotel, hope you do as you won't regret it.

Gary Brooker was the lead singer, and Procul Harum was the name of the band, This song is a Brooker composition released by the band in 1967.
