This game is simply... marvelous. The gameplay, the abby and the roster of heroes are all super cool. Cannot wait to see what additions come in the future DLC, aside from the one already announced. Moon Knight and Nightcrawler are some heroes I'd love to see.
too bad it looks like a mobile game and LMFAO those cutscenes oof....Those 480p graphics and massive amount of pixelation and image distortion...This thing's cutscenes look like it was made for Ipad. Not sure how a turn based card game can run so janky
The Push upgrade is insane with the "Draw a hero card when you knock an enemy into them" upgrade. Great in a pinch, doesn't require a card play, and it gets you +1 card. Also works well if you are playing a character with Drops like Ghost Rider or Magik. Whack an enemy with an attack, then push them into a hole.
I did not expect to absolutely adore this game. I was fully expecting a good card game wrapped in a goofy wanna persona like social link system plus a boring puzzle area. It turned out to be greater than the sum of its parts and the card battling is excellent. the dualsense rumble is near orgasmic with crunchy hits, the social links are actually pretty nice for an old school marvel saturday morning cartoon fan and the open world outside the abbey was a lot more engaging than I thought when I realized how to follow the clues and not just run around aimlessly. You have something amazing on your hands, keep adding campaigns, heros and villians (hopefully create a campaign where we can recruit them!) This game can grow larger than you guys and gals ever imagined and I will follow it the whole way!
It´s great to see Chris and Firaxis working together cannot think of a better brand ambassador than him. His Xcom let´s play is awesome and also encourage me to buy Xcom Chimera and Midnight Suns, although I do not think I´ll be as good strategist as him, it is great to see his Let´s Play series, hope Firaxis does Xcom 3 , I think many are eagerly waiting for what is next for Xcom 2.
I was a bit blind sided by this game. Didn't know about it at all. Then watched 5 minutes of a stream and bought it. I love xcom 2 and I was getting my yearly itch for a playthrough but this really did it for me and then some. The depth of every aspect of this game is insane. Polish just drips from everything.
Actually, I think the trade-off for not bringing the hunter are the rewards from the gamma coil. You may be trying to get more cards for certain heroes.
However, you ONLY get friendship when you take Hunter on the combat mission. So not bringing Hunter, you do not gain any friendship with those you do take.
This game combat is fantastic, I love ghost rider and strange in the comics and was like yes these two, but I went with carol and strange. But now I have fell in love with blade some of his cards have gotten better. My biggest gripe is the levels, they are all basically a square (so far) I would like some verticality. Would love to uppercut enemies through floors and environment attack throw them out of the second story and so on, so much potential. Hopefully they carry this franchise on and they can improve. Again not done but that’s what I would like to see. I can also see why critics dislike the story, it has a very 90s comic feel but I grew up on comics so I am here for the cringe haha
This video was great - when it comes to the green landing circle, is that pre-determined based on the attack and your current positioning? And the pushing as well? I find that I’m not able to run behind someone and push them - I’m locked into a single option when it comes to pushing.
Thanks for putting out another awesome video man. I adore this game. I've got to say one of my favorite parts of making decks is being able to add Ability Mods through the Training Yard. They can completely revolutionize a team's effectiveness and make whole new build styles possible.
Note: We lowly console players (at least PS5), are unable to hover over the Arcane Level to see what benefits it supposedly gives us. And we don't have a button prompt/toggle to make it display either, nor any in-game way to see the level benefits of. Easy fix: Make a persistent quest item, like Agatha's Cookbook, that lists the rewards for each Arcane Knowledge level. If they want to keep additional levels hidden until reached, then just add another static, but updating book in the library similar to the two that are already in there. I know of at least 3 spots in that room alone where something could be placed. If not in that room, then common room has plenty of open spots as well. Kind of an important oversight.
Toward the bottom right corner is the usual "3 Card Plays." Sometimes I've seen videos where it starts out with "4 Card Plays." How do I get that extra Card Play?

UPDATE: I checked Dr. Strange's cards more carefully this time and found that his Agamotto's Gaze gives four draws on the next turn after being played. I find the game is easier (not easy) with 4 plays instead of 3. With 4 draws every turn, I'd probably crank up the difficulty. Thanks again.
There is a Rare combat bonus you can get from chests, and I'm guessing from training as well, that let's you start a mission with , plus probably a combat item, and of course other hero cardsmthat add to card plays, similar to how Magik can add extra moves.
It seems like my characters only get experience and level up sometimes in the threat room. Is there a controlling factor that prevents characters from getting additional XP from the battling in the threat room everyday? I seem to hit a limit where on some days either some or all of the characters get zero XP gain even though they successfully complete the battle.
You can only level up heroes up to the highest level character you currently have. That means if your highest level hero is a level 18 hunter who is literally 1 xp away from level 19, every other character can only go up to 18 and immediately stops getting xp after that. You also don't have to complete the entire battle everytime and the instant you stop getting xp in the training area, you can go back to the Abby and still keep that level up.
So your first tip doesn't quite help. "Look at the offence stat". I get that, but how does that translate to Bleed? If Blade has a 54 Offence what does that mean for Bleed damage? How is it calculated? Is it 25% rounded up?
I think the confusion is coming from the stat I showed on screen. That’s from a very upgrade blade while the in combat video is early game. But whatever bleeds offense is…that’s the amount of bleed damage. Sorry if that was confusing.
Good tips but mostly understood through playing. What I find most difficult is the cards themselves: I'm 10 hours in, and still confused as to what some cards do and how to create better aligned teams etc. But that's a good thing as I know when I replay from scratch I'll be more efficient. Oh, and one thing: please stop offering to increase level of the game because in one, that is only one, good match (3 stars) typically a story mission I did well. The side missions, Hard in particular but even Normal, I still get KO'd two or three times. Normal is hard enough.
It gets easier to bump up the difficulty as you progress. I beat the game on story mode, then on my next playthrough was able to bump it to heroic 1 because normal was too easy. But as you get stronger and stronger cards drop it becomes cakewalk
There is something wrong with the central hub with captain marvel I sent scarlet witch on a mission and she's finished everytime I go to the central hub to pick up accomplishments of sending her on mission it kicks me out of the game now she's stuck their and I can't get her out of the central hub samething happen with captain america
INCORRECT INFO - Sorry man but the comment about the enemy applying debuffs at the end and not attacking your hero after that is incorrect. I was just playing and I got vulnerable applied (Hunter) then the shieldbearer knocked the crap out of me straight after that. I am playing Ultimate 1 so I don't know if that makes a difference when you go up in difficulty? Just thought I would let you know. UPDATE - The same mission and that combo just happened again this time to Nico so they definately attack the same hero after debuffs are applied on the same turn.
My guess? The shieldbearer also applies a debuff so both debuffs got left to the end but then one has to happen before the other. I assume the order of those debuff attacks is random. Shieldbearers tend to apply daze and stun, right?
@@GoodEggGuy I see what your saying they both had debuffs so 1 had to go first, that makes sense. But technically it means I still got attacked after being hit with VUL which means 50% more damage received, so it can happen. Thank you for posting a positive and interesting reply MMK.
You have to research The Way Of The Fang and then build the training dummies upgrade, I’m pretty sure you unlock the research after completing like 3 missions with blade

20 years ago, many games including really famous ones like FF X showed very easily the order of the turn... It's impressive how you managed to NOT do a simple thing like this in your game. And we should be able to combine our 1 MOVE with 1 ATTACK to go at the perfect place to do the maximum damage with our attack. But that's just a little thing that could have been done if you listened to our feedback. For example, before doing Ms.Marvel's beam, we should be able to place it wherever we'd want on the battlefield to have that perfect line up, and it'll cost our Move.
Not showing the turn order isn't a simple feature, it's a design choice. Perhaps it's just part of how they wanted the game to play out. And I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about regarding the move + attack, you can do that in the game already. Once you've decided to move a character, you can move them infinitely until you do an action with either them or another hero. So you can move wherever you want to do a Photon Beam to get the perfect line up, costing exactly what you wanted; 1 move and 1 attack.
I would buy this game if the parts in the manor were reduced significantly. It's such a shame that the gameplay and battles looks so awesome but it's ruined by bad dialog parts. Hopefully they update it and remove most of it.
Yeah I have played around 50 hours now and the massive amounts of talking is getting annoying TBH, although I am interested in the story at least for this first play through. But dude you can always fast click to go through any talking in seconds, which is what I will do after I fininsh the game and play it for the next 20 times over becuase its so F**KING good.
A poorly made game. Its a turned based game for mobile devices. People just want to get into lots if button tapping and gameplay that peaks adrenalin. This game is severely lacking in that dynamic. In fact you i found it very frustrating. Spent 20 minutes foking around trying to be tediouse and tactfull when i just want to get into a sort if hack slash entertainment using my favourite heroes. Emmensely disappointing and these developers could have tapped into a oersobs more base need with this stuff. Fuken useless man. Im uninstalling it.

You're 100% right. And the power level for heroes is a lot more dependent on the quality of their cards than it is on combat level.
However, you ONLY get friendship when you take Hunter on the combat mission. So not bringing Hunter, you do not gain any friendship with those you do take.
