please keep making these videos, they dont make much views but they truly helped though my experience of midnight suns and made the game much more enjoyable
I really like Fortify on Hunter paired with Holy Flame and Holy Spark. I am running a fully Light focused Build and am at 200 Light atm but its quite effective for fitting in most Teams, Attack/Heal with Holy Flame, Quick Attack/Cure with Holy Spark with some good damage mitigation and Counter from Fortify and you can be a pretty good Tank/Support, I also use Bands of Light and I am really trying to make Summon Charlie work but it still feels very lackluster for a Legendary Card.
Personally I'd like to run Paladin on my Hunter: 2x Morning Star (Quick) 2x Bands of Fire (Quick) - Could also swap one of these out for Annihilation (no clue what all mods are available for legendary heroics though) if you wanted to focus on DPS 2x Holy Burst (1 w/ Draw card for each KO, 1 w/ +1 Heroism for each KO - or have both w/ Heroism if you're using Annihilation) Wrath (Draw last attack) Holy Spark -or- Quick Slash (+2 cards/Strengthen on KO) -or- Deadly Ground (Draw 2 cards) - depending on if I want to Cure/focus on DPS/bring more utility. To me, that just makes a motor that never stops revving up. You can use your environment, crowd control, AOE, heal, cure, draw cards (not just Hunter cards), gain heroism, AND do some pretty decent DPS. Because so many of them are Quick, you just soften them up w/ AOE's or environment/knockback damage, which likely takes out a few minions and grants you cards and heroism, then you clear the field of all but MAYBE not the bosses (Annihilation swap would probably fix that though), come out on the other end better than you went in, AND you're not even down a card play to do all that. With the balanced collar and all those Quicks and Draw on KO's you've got your whole deck (AND the rest of your team's decks as well) in your hand in no time. Throw in Strange or Nico to make it just hit harder and faster. The Light/Ancestors'/Master of the Hunt/Fully Charged suit passives all work great so it's just what your preference is.
I really want to like summons cards but unless you get someone taunty like Cap, it’s hard to see how it’s worth the heroism and action economy just to put another body on the field.
Attack Cards: Iron Man's Quick Blast+ : Quick, decent damage, hero specific card draw, and knockback with a redraw. You can mod it to get a 2nd hero specific card on KO. Captain America's Brooklyn Handshake+: Knockback (Forceful if the enemy was already damaged this turn), good damage, and draws 2 cards on KO. This can be modded with Quick! Captain America's Quick Punch: Not as good as Brooklyn Handshake, but it does have innate Quick and it's pretty good. Hunter's Merciless+: Combines well with other heroes who stun or bind. Particularly good with Dr Strange's Crimson Bands of Cyttorak. Great value when modded with Quick. Nico's Witchfire: This is one of the highest damage Attack cards in the game, and is worth using just for a single attack. But you can make up to 4 attacks from a single card play. Great for clearing out minions and low to medium health enemies. Heroic Cards: Air Superiority is one card I'd leave out of Iron Man's hand. Use Surgical Strike with the Mark 1 mod instead to get your card play returned, or go ham with Hellfire Beam+. I know you're not talking about Legendary cards here, but the unlimited damage potential of Hellfire Beam+ and its low heroism cost make it far superior to Air Superiority, particularly on higher difficulties where it takes a lot of damage to bring enemies down. Iron Man's Precision+: This is a low (potentially 0) cost Heroic card that can be modded with +2 Redraws and it's a Free card play. Combine it with the modded Quick Blast+ cards mentioned above and Leave It To Me+ card, this is the engine that can generate plenty of redraws in a turn. If only Iron Man had an attack he could power up with those redraws. (He DOES). And once you're spent those redraws, Precision lets him keep the attack and power it up even more.
Witch fire on Nico is a great finisher. The random targeting I can understand can be annoying, but if you plan around it, the attack can really swing a fight
I find that it *usually* targets the enemies it needs to hit, but yes for sure, if you have a bunch of softened up enemies at the end of mission , this is a great way to end it
Nico’s restore, if you have the right mod it doesn’t discard if the person you’re trying to heal has less than 50 health. Clutch if you need to keep healing.
The first time I used Banish on Magik, I removed a sniper from the field that was about to hit very hard, and then managed to push two full health enemies into the drop (25% chance and 34% chance I think). Staple card 10/10, also I'm out of luck for the rest of my playthrough
I have just got this game only done around six missions so still getting the hang of it but really enjoying it so far this card review was very helpful 👌
I know you had Nico ranked mid-tier, but she is one of my favorites because of that empower card. The synergy I was able to pull with the trio of her, Hunter and Magik got pretty crazy at times. Being able to roll that Empower into Patience or Demonchylde turned a lot of fights while allowing me to keep banking heroic points to unleash even more on later turns. Properly timing cards like Empower or Hunter's Inspire ended up defining my playstyle in my first playthrough.
@@TheOrderofDylan Honestly, I rarely use her roulette cards for that reason. I run a couple of upgraded and modded empowers, blood for blood, witchfire, witch storm, at least one restore, and crack the sky once she gets it. I dodge the roulette to turn her into a health/heroic points support with a couple of heavy hits when needed. You can create some pretty solid synergies between her and other characters like Hunter, Cap and Strange that can dominate a battle
@@TheOrderofDylan Empower+Double Up+ Restore is a skill line on par with Strange. And that's before we talk Roulette. I've had Swarm mod Quick. Which makes it absolutely brilliant for disposing of mid-tier enemies. And Witchstorm is a solid single target nuke. And there's always someone isolated to take it.
I just love Nico as support and healing, and witch fire has gotten me out a lot of sticky situations , as it just so happened to hit like 5 enemies and remove them all from the field
@6:00 while both iron man cards are great for combos and they even go great together, thats 2 out of 3 card plays without getting a refund. meaning u now have to 1 hit KO every time you play a card or ur turn is over.
Call to Arms says, "Am I a joke to you?" Double Heroism gains. Upgrades to Free. Can also mod to Draw Last Attack. Making this a 100% 0 cost card that is not "Win More" like New Plan, or providing no benefits beyond the current turn like Empower (since you keep the Heroism gain until spent). I 100% rate this above Wrath or Inspire. Wrath is essentially replaced by Champion Passives. Inspire is 1 card. Call to Arms is everything. And yeah, tell me Fextralife is worth anything when they rated this gem "Do Not Touch."
Yeah cards which you can upgrade to free and cards that do good AOE damage ae ramong my favourites. Hunter's Bladestorm for example can be absolutely devastating if you use it right. Love tearing apart the soulless in particular with it.
Have you done any Wolverine team/builds? I just love wolverine just in terms of his character so I can't help but use him, but it would be good to see a video dedicated to him. Currently I use him to team up with hunter and iron man - mostly for iron mans block application and hunters double heroism and free heroic cost
Funny enough I have a video on the channel discussing why I think he’s the worst character. 😳 I’ve been trying to warm up to him and play around with different mods, I don’t think he’s bad bad I just don’t like his kit at all.
@@TheOrderofDylan I think they need to adjust his kit so that he either gets more “resists” on his cards or KOs or they need to introduce health returned on taking damage because at the end of the day he is one of the most powerful super hero’s purely due to how good his healing factor is. I wonder how they will handle dead pool as his healing factor is even better than wolverines
Hi Dylan! Thanks for the video great watch. I brought this up a few days ago but forgot to follow up in time (my bad). Any chance you could possibly do a mission breakdown on crossroads? Again it’s mostly the last section with the defuse I’m struggling with and I apologize for asking again. Also, any thoughts on doing a dlc character video making predictions on their cards and play style? Since we have venom that would be a good baseline and just going from there maybe? Thank you again as always and hope you are well!
Hey I forgot to respond. My apologies. Getting Crossbones down quickly is obviously the key, I would recommend using the Armor Piercing Charm combat item to give him vulnerable when his block goes up, and hitting him with heavy single target blows. Definitely give some thought as to who you are bringing along in that third slot, Magik or Iron Man would be ideal plays. And the DLC idea is definitely something I might do! Appreciate you!
@@jean-lucclark7598 Having some way of adding vulnerable (either through a dedicated skill like Iron Man's Mark Target or a mod) is going to soften enemies and make for an easier kill. Really helpful in missions like that where you need to quickly eliminate a target.
Hunters Quick Slash goes better with draw hunter card, wild slash goes better with quick all in one goes better with quick with master of the hunt and balanced collar and passive thats unlimited never ending kill cards
I bumped the difficulty to hero one as soon. As I could and its really tuff a team member is ko Ed every fight. And very hard to get over one star rating . Wonder if it's worth. It does male u switchbout heros regularly cause they get injured so much
My best advice if you’re struggling with teammates getting downed: make sure you are paying attention to enemy target previews. Before every turn ends, do your best to ensure you’ve either set up some damage mitigation through conceals, resist, stuns, bounds, or taunting with a beefier/tank character, or simply take out as many enemies as you can to limit the amount of incoming damage. The thing about this game is that it goes out of its way to give you all the information up front. Make sure on every turn that you are simultaneously working towards completing the objective while also preparing yourself for the enemy turn. If you’re hitting End Turn and haven’t acknowledged all the damage you’re about to take, you’re going to run into some problems.
@@EvanSnowWolf he seems weak to me too and all about dodging damage so he can make big hits but this game doesn't have cover so that's kinda counter productive. Now wolverine at least gets lifesteal and taunts to take damage but get it back. Deadpool just soaks hits and you hope he doesn't get hit somehow. Idk, I don't get his play style at all. @@madbart214yomother7 Deadpool needs to be paired with a dedicated tank or someone who can boost his resist, keep "Hey, Fuckface!" on him to increase his resist as well and target enemies who were already gonna hit him anyway rather than add more incoming attacks
Winds is fine, but it doesn’t have base damage on it like Quick Slash and Quick Toss which is useful on any elite target. Lash has Forceful Knockback without needing a Heroism enhancement.
