Honestly I never would have thought about stripping the textures on a detailed rig and giving it simple colors etc. I think you should make a video(S) about cool little tips and tricks like that. A lot of us newer(and probably somewhat advanced) animators could really benefit from tips like that. Also that could be part of part 3 if you decide to go in that direction.
I did a clip with a how to regarding the texture thing but yep, I have lots of tips like that planned, just super slammed at the moment schedule wise and with something else that will hopefully work out. 😁
Got me to thinking how a mere head turn can be so amazing. Like a cat watching a ball roll by. Seeing it for the first time "wazdat" reaction. "I can't stop looking at this" pass by to preparation to pounce, wind up, adjust stance, bob the head for aiming... "attack!"
re: my comment... Thanks for the clarification! I would also add though: games animation is not necessarily limited to cycles and simple actions. Depends on the game of course - some are more complex than others - but when done right game animation can be a carefully orchestrated *interactive performance* built from many small parts that all fit together in a dynamic mix of design, programming & animation. For player characters it's all about the FEEL of movement and player expression, and for NPC AI characters it's about communicating WHAT a character is doing and thinking and WHY... so there's a lot of (still largely untapped) potential for doing interesting things there... but anyway, I'll put away the soapbox now.
Totally agree! I’m just not a games channel and wouldn’t presume to pretend to be one, hence no further detailed explanation about it like yours above. A better channel like Harvey Newman’s is more appropriate for that. 😁
Hi JD thank you for all your great learning videos!! They are all very useful and I learnt a lot from them. I was wondering if you have done or thinking about doing a video talking about Maya scripts you have used?
Thank you! And yep, I actually started with a “workflow” clip which showed some of that scripts and Maya tweaks I’m using.👉🏻 ruclips.net/video/Z8e9dt_cTVE/видео.html I think I might have another one but I’ll definitely continue.
Hope this is helpful! I'm sure there will be a part 3 in the future! Any questions?
Wanna go into games. I understand that personality is always needed. It's a good reminder to have you hammer it in our brains lol
😂
10:04 This cracks me up and then continues to show the crack of a frog, brilliant.
😁
Looking forward to the next part! Thanks for all the info!!! Love it!!!
Thank YOU!

Not sure, which ones are you talking about?
@@jeandenishaas I was looking at either ianimate or animation collaborative
@@kboogie2323 Can’t say, I teach at other schools.
Hi J-D, you did convince me to study creature animation are you going to do like creature's lecture?
Happy to have convinced you! 😁 I don’t think I understand your question?
@@jeandenishaas oh sorry J-D, I mean if you will do something like FNA but for creatures
