Amazing video. Common in Asia and Europe, near forgotten in US. I used soda can bottom to cook the sulpher match

Wonder if you added some powdered charcoal to the sulfur before melting would help them to ignite faster?

    Another handy tip.
Pine cones! If your fortune enough to be in a area, that has large one around. Take cotton balls, with petroleum jelly on it. Stuff the cotton balls down into the open areas on the pine cones. These make great campfire starters. Also can be used as a tiki type torch! Hollow out a hole in the base with a knife, then insert a stick ect... they will light and burn quite awhile. Also pine nuts are edible. So knock them out before hand

Prior Military ? You remind me of a S.E.R.E. instructor. When I go out to harvest firewood, I'm always looking for the fatwood chunks, that stuff burns wet ! HOOOAH

Nope, never in the military, just really enjoy survival and survival topics and have been prepping now for a long time. Love my fatwood as well!

I'm surprised that I've never seen this before, I really want to try this. This is definitely a great skill to have, especially for emergency situations, as well as the ingredients of course. Thanks for the video, can't wait to see what's next! Stay safe out there and God bless!

i have many feet and pounds of fat lighter yet to process from old growth trees; you can make pitch from it too. quite a bit already done ready for camping or b.o. everyone should have some; it’s survival gold and free. i paint altoids tins, fill them and give as camo stocking stuffers...
edit: hey! it’s an hour ago

They won't strike, but then neither do Diamond Strike-Anywhere matches! Maybe we could use your matches to light theirs!

Great video! With adding thin wrap of paper towels and then soaking them in candle wax increase the utility of the match? Thanks again!
