Jackie is an official member now, basically Waylon and Jeff left and were replace full time by Jackie and the new guy Steve. She is probably gonna have a big role on a few songs as she is considered a full time vocalist for the band now. I also personally like both songs, they are both very reminiscent of their Album XIII. Seen it all is similar to Sun Doesnt Rise where its more a straight rock song where both vocalists go back and forth. The Heresy has the same vibe as One More Day which also had a female singer on it. Its piano heavy, slower but still has a heavy sound to it. Matt Wallace produced this album and he produced XIII as well. The videos were most likely filmed during the pandemic which is why both of them don't feature all the members a bunch or all in the room together. Which is why it shows at most 3 people in the room at a time. Theres still 15 more songs to go and Im still excited. I remember when Qwerty came out and I hated it but ended up loving the rest of the album. Got my signed copy preordered 😁
I am somewhat of a new Mushroomhead fan (found them 2 months ago) and honestly I loved this song. Definitely different from their other tracks and I can understand why some might not like it but it went straight on my Spotify playlist!
I just imagine Jeffrey Nothing singing Jacky’s parts and it being a good song. Not a bad song, but it’s not blowing me away like some of the older stuff did lol
@@adog4661 pshht nothing against her (no pun intended) but theres a reason the old albums worked. They were written for two multi fashioned singers- they could not only write lyrics, and sing but they both understood what the song needed. Skinny was able to get the best out of them in a competitive way and pack it all in one song at a time. Like Jeff or not he would have filled those lyrics and helped make up for a lackluster lacuna coil jam in the first place.
Phuc Chu It’s not a bad song or anything, the song just sounds like it was written for Jeffrey Nothing to sing over. The melodies would have suit him better, in my opinion. It is what it is though. The new album isn’t my favorite, but it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever heard.
Music has to evolve radio play is needed to give them the push they need. Today's music is wildly popular with female fronted bands and guttural growls.
bro this creepy-melodic and slower type of songs are really rubbing one me, the simpler yet moody songs have as much effect as a hard hitter imo and are opposite ends of the band in a good way, its all about a constant evolution and experimenting its counter productive to stay the same, still appreciate ur guys reaction thats what its for a reaction
The only issue I have with this video along with the Seen It All video is that they're both shot from a single camera angle. I'm a film student and ive done about 6 music videos and while the song of the video is what really drives the video, the shooting style is still important cuz that's what gives the song visual life. Again the video if fine but when you compare the videos for The Heresy and Seen It All to videos for songs like Sun Doesn't Rise and 12 Hundred, the latter just have way more dynamic and they both gave a real signature look and style. The videos for The Heresy and Seen It All incidentally were directed by Skinny and it just felt like he left the camera in one spot with just slow pans and lots of slowmo. Again I'm not hating just voicing my artistic opinion and vibe I got from these 2 videos.
If the album has 17 songs like Tvfish said then they are saving better songs and videos and giving you only this quiet song to prepare you for a big experience explosion. At least I hope. 🤷🏻♂️
Really liked this song. The video was a little slow, but picked up as it went along. This should bring more mainstream fans. I agree, this did not feel like a Mushroomhead song. But all the same, it was still an enjoyable song. This almost felt like a duet than a group song.
i personally dig this one, not so much seen it all tune. it's ok but heresy is killer i think, i really dig their keyboards anyways. i'm from around their way so i seen them a lot back in the day.
my personal favorite song by mushroomhead. I get why some don't like it it doesn't sound a lot like typical mushroomhead. but for me I was not much of a fan until recently.
Personally I liked this song sooooo much more than Seen It All, which I think is typical radio trash. Something tells me this song was written while Jeffrey was still in the band and Jackie ended up taking that spot.
I appreciate them experimenting with different sounds, and as a fx artist/ mask maker i was def more grabbed by the song with the video because of Jackie's look (badass) but I did enjoy the calmer nature of the matter of factness of us feeding the war machine, cool message.
I thought it was a good song. Not super mind blowing I dug the costumes and the message they are trying to convey. It was a good change from what they normally do and it does suck that so many good band members left. But hey, we just need to try to accept them for what they've become without their original crew. J-Man has been, gone, and returned, that was good to see. I think she's a great vocalist I can't wait to hear what else she can do with that strong voice of hers.
We're all going to have to get use to the new sound from mushroomhead. But I still think the album will be good. I can't wait. Thanks for the honest review you guys. 👍
Now we just need a vid/song with all three vocalists. Jackie also had a pop-up cameo in Seen It All, akin to what Steve did here. It felt odd not to have all three. All in all, I enjoyed the new song musically but it didn't have the oomph Mushroomhead is known for. They might be holding off and that's what's making me want to get the album. In the hope there's something a bit harder and more MH than this. I'm essentially waiting for another We Are The Truth.
I'm new to 🍄 head..found them a month ago ive seen them on ads on RUclips and I've heard of them but never really listened to them after hearing this song I listened to qwerty cool af but this song actually gave me goosebumps I totally love the look ..I did follow the knot but not they changed there look and got rid of a certain member..they have went down hill in my opinion..well I just found a kickers replacement. Mushroomhead for the win!!!!
Very happy with the new album. It took a couple of listens to appreciate some of the songs. Typical mushroomhead, very eclectic sound throughout, and as much I miss Jeffrey nothing, the new vocalists do a great job.
I havent listened to anything Mushroomhead have done since their 2004 album which I thought was pretty mediocre. It looks like I haven't really missed that much. I'm not saying they're terrible, I just personally never thought they were that good either. In other words, "they're just kind of there."
7/10 ,the message was very thought provoking "we feed the war machine" the song was too slow for my taste and I like acoustic guitars. This MRH era will grow on me for sure.
Ive seen them live 72 times I got a mushroomhead tattoo long before jackie started forcing her way in and now they are no longer unique in sound but now they sound like every other chick metal band!
Love the new mushroomhead album. Jackie and steve added to the mix makes it sound good. Of course we miss jeff and all. Ut reality the left they have to make do.
Being a true fan of the band, I think every album they have all sound different. Jackie’s voice is phenomenal and Jmann is still the best at what he does. Yeah it sounds different, but how can they progress by sounding and having the same sound every album?
@@TwoToeTags Different does not always equal bad either though. The Waylon era was different than the Jmann era and it turned out fine. I think to many people are blowing off a 17 song album because of 2 songs. I can count on one hand the amount of albums I like where every single song on them is good.
The first 2 minutes of the video aren't actually part of the song. If you listen to the album version its actually only 4 minutes long and kicks right off.
Iove this song n Jackie is always kool n a sweethart she is so nice n i love mushroomhead they know me cuase im always at the da shows in L.A. everytime for. Years i got the logo tatted on my arm n i want to get the x tatted on my face/head lol 😈😈😈🤘🤘🤘
Blame skinny for jackie being the lead vocal.....only reason she is even there. She's cool and all but has created so much dissention. Waiting to hear more before I can say yes or no
I'm a bit disappointed about this song. :\ However Jeffrey Nothing released a new song (Never Enough) a few days ago, it's freaking heavy! Please react to it, guys!
Lyrically repetitive, guitars lacking , too much Jackie ..She is the yoko ono of mushroomhead ...Nothing is definitely missed ..Maybe with them being on a major label Skinny won't fire anyone else..

@Kry Kry Stott Same, I've been getting XIII vibes from both tracks and more XIII style music is awesome in my book.
Album is a definite purchase for me.
No doubt love metal which hits heavy but sometimes it's awesome hearing songs like this. Be safe, Stay excellent!! 🎸⚡⚡⚡

You probably would love holes in the void on the bsfuc album.
3:59 and 4:09 Spark to the eye!
Honestly this is a great song and sounds good with her as the main vocalist in this change is good sometimes
Mushroom head is in there prime now they are doing stuff slipknot hasn’t ever done and appears won’t do
Im sorry boys, but Jackie's vocals make this song. Im glad shes in for more now!
Agreed
You want the song to sound better? Change the Playback Speed to 1.25x. Seriously... Makes the song so much better!
The songs are earlier in the album and comes after seen it all I believe.

Seen it All now Heard it ALLLLL
It kind of reminded me more of a Lacuna Coil type song than a Mushroomhead song. I don't hate or love it, just 50/50 on it now.
Skinny is a big fan of them I dont want mrh to sound like a mainstream chick band🤦♂️
Same here, I got a mad Lacuna Coil vibe, as well.
Reminds me of heavens a lie.
This is called art.
i absolutely love them both... im very excited to hear what this album is like
You have to have an open mind you really do, things are always changing, some can handle change, some cant
Sometimes change is good, sometimes it isnt
@@TwoToeTags its all preference really, i love their classic stuff but also love their new direction
I have a new found appreciation for vocals wether heavy or lighter, if you can sing well that's what counts

@@YordleSlaYer which is exactly the vibes I'm getting from the new songs. So if he likes this he will definitely like XIII.
One of my favorites. Ms. Jackie is incredible.
Skinny's first was the featured backup harmony in XIII. I guess including Jackie is paying her respects to her passing, if I'm not mistaken?
Personally I liked this song sooooo much more than Seen It All, which I think is typical radio trash. Something tells me this song was written while Jeffrey was still in the band and Jackie ended up taking that spot.
i did spots in the past...plus its not jackie its shannon...and chris.
When she put the baby in the bomb, “yes!”
The Nuclear Child or Atom Bomb Baby?
You guys going to review the new The Ghost Inside album?
Might be doing that one next week.

Again, decent, but doesn’t even sound like Mushroomhead. I’m hoping these are “lesser” songs and we’re gonna get heavy hitters once it drops.
Under impressive to say the least.

I am just not a fan of this song.
Pretty meh.
Mushroomhead sucks, there’s a reason Slipknot has always been more successful. They both wear masks, that’s where the similarities end
Boring is boring.. I know this isn't a high energy song, but there isn't enough going on musically to keep me entertained..
So I'm going to be honest I'm a fan of mushroomhead but I really dont like this song
So so so boring !!!!!!!!
