That's a totally different Truck 😆!? New Holmes motor, new receiver, new esc, new Servo, new tyres, new drive shafts, new bearings/pins.. anything I missed?🤔 Mine is totally stock but I've not really run it hard yet 👍 The Sand Paddles are wicked! another Good Video..🤘
lol yeah its all been swapped out. Probably give the new Vitavon axles a try since he has a nice system to make them work, a bit pricy but supposed to be bigger than the Tekno at the ball end.
FYI on the pin. Vaterra Screw Pin - For Drive Coupler (VTR246001). I lost one as well, luckily my local hobby shop new exactly what Losi uses for that pin.
Best rip I've seen you have with the Lazernut you deserve it, mine is still stock with a few minor adjustments runs great, I like those paddles great video
Maybe I'm exaggerated, but if I take a new model, I must necessarily check all the screws and Allen screws. 🧐🤪 It's stronger than me.. Greetings from Italy. p.s. (how I can't envy, all that great place and space to wander around!). 😍
You get get a piece of heat shrink to go over that pin thingy. Than it will never come out again👍 I've done that to all my driveshaft pins on my SBR 2.0
My rear bearing blew out too. I have the new case and pinion/gear, but waiting on shims. I still haven’t gone up to 4s! I think I’ll wait until I’ve got the $200-ish for the Vitavon shafts and stuff.
Drill out the input shafts for the diffs and run an M3 (i think) sholder bolt and nylon lock nut through the cups. That's what we do in the rock reys, especially if you run 4 or 6S and 3200-2200kV motors. Also, if you start blowing wheel hexs and or half-shafts then consider switching to someting like AfroNinja's billet alumium shafts... (mine was driven like a rock bouncer).
@@ExocagedRC Seems like a fair assumption, I guess if its not very large diameter ~0.200" then I'd personaly take a dowell pin (assuming 2mm cross hole or so) and slide it through the assembly (60HRC case hardened), then use some type of retainer over it.. like a piece of automotive wire shielding and use a lighter to shrink it on. - did exactally that to my Losi Baja Rey (4S, 4000KV because the rear driveshaft was so imbalanced at that high of a speed that it originally kept shearing the Losi and veterra branded pin screws. (just my 2 cents from battling it) Hope it all works out for you in the end, as much as I know I shouldn't get a laser nut and just get a UDR... im always on the fence.
Just went through this with mine. Put the pin in the drill and sanded it down. Left the threads long and loctited it with red haha.. ordered more pins and good to go!
Love the paddles, look a bit like formula off road style unlike most of other ones on the market. I got nowhere to run them but dang I’d love a set. A bit jealous of your weather, 8C here and raining 3 times a day
Take a look ( that's your line !) at the TEN SCTE 3.0 diff. Ive installed it complete with j&t bearings front and rear in my lasernut. I installed the SCTE gear set in the center diff. I kept the same ring and pinion as stock. Much higher quality plastics and beefier gears. It's worked so far for me in the Lasernut. BTW I have a Typhon for what you're doing in this video. The Typhon is unbreakable doing all the same driving in this video but way faster as you know. Love the channel!!! Thanks for the great videos !!! How about a review on the new Redcat V2?
Awesome, I don't have typhon because I have a Tekno ebuggy, the redcat v2 is neat but I have the OG one and they are pretty much the same thing but the v2 has durability upgrades which would make it the better buy.
@@ExocagedRC thanks for the reply. I was thinking of a review of the Redcat cause at $299. it's a really solid value. I had no idea that the Typhon would pretty much do anything. I got it cause I wanted something like the Infraction that could go anywhere. I'm not a good basher, I've been crawling with my TRX4. My first fast jump with the Typhon, I hit my garage and put a dent in it. Got the tape out and it went 52ft and was then stopped by the garage 2 ft in the air!!! Have a great day! Tons of rain in New England yesterday, going to go play in the mud with the TRX4!
Great vid! finally got a set of Sand Paws for the beach. Is it best to vent the tires and tape the holes inside the wheel? Would love to see the Mojave with sand paws! 🙏
@@ExocagedRC I'm trying to reach someone with spare time hobbies to see if and when they'll have everything I need to make a trx4 based Optimus. Lol. If you have time and know anything about it let me know please. And again love the content and thank you for the daily uploads.

In all the Sandlot videos im yelling go try to climb the big hills in the background! Take few different types of 4x4s one day anything from basher, buggy, crawler/trucks and do some hill climbs/crawls.
@@ExocagedRC ok thanks for the reply. I'll go look for the crawling vids at that location. Would love to see some trail run style crawling. Many of us go out and try to find new places to go wheeling, just an idea something new and fresh and something many of us non comp crawlers can relate to.
Been trying to decide what tire to run in the lose sand, would you run the 2.8 sandpaws over the black mambas? You mentioned a thicker hex adapter for the 2.8, what did you use?

Typical losi. THIS is the reason I raced losi for only 1 season. Wouldn't stay together. It was something different every weekend. Never the same thing twice!
Looks a shitty car indeed 🙈 I like the concept, it's a nice car, but it looks like the thing is broken all the time 🤣 I'm very happy I bought a tekno instead of a losi
@@ExocagedRC hahaha nice one. Yeah I wanted to buy one, I really like the concept of a rock racer/basher. I think it will drive very good around our local track cause it's a little bit bumpy. It's a track for 1/8 cars but it's a little bit rough for a buggy and it's a little bit to narrow for racing a truggy so i wanted a lasernut but I don't want to wrench all the time. That's the reason I've sold all my Traxxas cars except the trx4 🤫🤣
The problem with a lot of the manufacturers is they keep making bigger, heavier, faster cars and raiding the parts bin of “the little brother” version. The tenacity Db series is a damn good car out of the box, with a few upgrades it’s great. The lazernut is longer, heavier and taller. Needs its “own” parts NOT the DBs.
Well what a rather nice session ... But I bet your heart starts pounding every time there's a niggle with "LaserNut" That moment when you lost RWD, that awkward silence...that frustration feeling, the "here we go again". Maybe there will be a MK2 version of it, all sorted and deserving of the accolades of LOSI For now, its just a cheappo knock-off of a rig...(box stock)
Oh you're right on all that, including the pause... LOL Luckily it was an easy fix, the car drives great when its driving, it really does but yeah its way way under engineered for what it is. IDK why so many RC manufacturers skimp on the axles, those are the most abused part of the whole vehicle!!
Man your Lasernut is an emotional roller coaster lol. Happy to see it dialed in 🤙
