Merry Christmas Steven and Tyler, i really apreciate the information and analisis you share with us always, hope you have a great time with your families
I might be the biggest Simi Fehoko fan in the Chargers fanbase. I am really excited to have him back. He does good things for Justin Herbert. He just *catches the damn ball* and I don't hold my breath every time the ball is heading to him like I do for QJ. I think we win the remaining two games, given the extra rest and the confidence from beating the Broncos. If everyone is back healthy, I have at least a smidgeon of hope for the playoff game (unless we play the Bills or Ravens...we losing those ;))
Yep, anyone except Bills or Ravens. Unlikely we’ll play #2 seed Bills. VERY likely we’ll play Ravens.. almost a certainty, due to Steelers having tie breaker and one game over us. (Steelers very probably lose to KC, but less likely to Bengals at home; and probably win one of them.) Sucks. Don’t wanna play Ravens again. Don’t even dislike them. If KC slides to #2, we should tank for #7.
What stunk about the ravens loss was that the defense did schematically exactly what they should’ve done. A lot of five man fronts with three DTs, played Derwin closer, I can’t remember if they played man a lot but I imagine they did. The ravens were just better that day, and the chargers offense starting to fall off from their 4 game win streak didn’t help them either. But hopefully Thursday night was a sign of things to come for this offense
Unfortunately the Chargers’ kryptonite is a physical team. We’re just not there yet physically. We’d certainly rather play the Chiefs than the Ravens. Thank goodness the NFC North wasn’t on our rotation this season.
Completely random, but it’s crazy how similar MHJ and QJs rookie season’s are stats wise. Whole lotta drops, terrible contested catch rate, etc. Surprised the parallel hasn’t been mentioned much.
Tyler said Chiefs would be “most rested” opponent - assumes they’re #1 seed, ie, not if the Bills grab the #1 seed (ie, KC loses to both Steelers and Denver - not a huge ask). I want to play them! Hollywood Brown looked good vs Houston, do not care. Care more that Thune looked great playing left tackle for them. Bottom line is I HATE the Chiefs, and would LOVE to knock them out. But not if they keep the first seed, just won’t meet them. Edit: like I mentioned to nsn - we want to throw our last game if KC slides to the 2nd seed. (Assuming everything else stays relatively constant, which it won’t ofc.)
I don’t understand the steadfast refusal to admit the reason the Chiefs are who they are is the greatness of Patrick Mahomes. Yes, they’ve been fortunate in some games this year, but the Chiefs aren’t a one year phenomenon; they’ve won three Super Bowls…because of Mahomes. If the so-called “advanced” stats only place him in the top ten to fifteen QBs this year, all that should tell you is the value of those stats is limited and they don’t tell you the full story.
Those same stats have generally painted a picture of Mahomes as the best QB almost every single year. And if he's not first, he's second. This year, he's not as A+ of a passer as he usually is.
Yet the Chiefs have only one loss, even with significant OL problems and a defense that’s slipped a bit. Do you really think he’s any less a QB this season? Did any of us have any doubt the Chargers’ one point lead a couple of weeks ago wasn’t going to hold up when Mahomes was getting the ball back with four minutes to go? And it didn’t hold up because of a couple of great plays he made, one of which was the ridiculous scrambling jump pass that maybe no one else can make? When it comes to Mahomes, you can throw the numbers out the window. He’s why the Chiefs are so tough to beat.
Steelers play chiefs and bengals. Iff they lose out and we win out we take the 5 spot. The problem is the chiefs dont have to play starters against the steelers. Its the only time im rooting for the chiefs to win
re: “Chiefs don’t have to play starters” - Tim, if the Chiefs lose their next two games vs Steelers and Broncos, and Bills win out (vs NE, Jets, NE), Chiefs lose #1 seed and the bye. Chiefs WILL be playing their starters vs Pittsburgh. Well… unless Buf loses to NE in a few hours here. But it’s okay, partner. If KC beats Pittsburgh, fine. But if KC LOSES it’s even better. We *want* to play KC in the first round, that’d be ideal. (Yeah, yeah, Houston is probably an easier opponent but not very much, KC is eminently beatable and besides, I hate them. Don’t have anything against the Strouds.)
@@timm5970 if the Chiefs lose their next two and Buf wins out, they’ll both have final records of 14-3, and Buffalo wins first tiebreaker.. head-to-head. Pretty simple.
Zion hasnt been very good this team needs upgrades at all 3 interior o-line spots or at the least we need a new starter at center and right gaurd and get competition for zion at left gaurd
Zion gets bull rushed. He also gets beat on stunts, which a center would help. But right now imo his biggest problem is he’s just not strong/heavy enough, center won’t help. He just needs to work out and eat.
It’s wild that Matlock took out 2 defenders at once on that long Gus run. He’s improved so much
Credit to him
It's of weird to be excited by Fehoko coming back
Nah. He gets open.
He was better than Reagor or Chark
We sign a free agent center or right gaurd then draft the other whichever isnt a free agent also need a legit backup swing tackle and backup center

Merry Christmas gentlemen!! Definitely feels so good👍🏼⚡️❤️
steven not saying "obviously" 50 times per episode, CHALLENGE IMPOSSIBLE
Glad to see realistic talk about Diontae
Not a TED guy. Goes against what Harbaugh is building

Wasn't Zion johnson a center prospect in his college days, would like to see him try for center position
I'm sure there was some consideration there

To me Zion Johnson looks like a true center
Too late
If the Steelers lose out, and Bolts win out, 5th seed. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Tyler, when you get a chance, please change your Allen jersey (behind you) to a player who's still with us... maybe Derwin James or McConkey. ❤
Nah. Keenan's one of my favorites, and that jersey is signed
Brendan Rice still have a chance of being with the team in 2025?

@randallturner9094 no the chiefs locked in the number 1 seed against the texans. At least that's what they said on the broadcast

If we don’t claim him the chiefs will
No guarantee anyone claims him
Asante can’t tackle. You don’t give a guy like this a big contract.
Definitely not in this defense
Fuck the vibes he can catch the ball!
Dionte Johnson is a big NO. Not the type of character we look for.
Zion hasnt been very good this team needs upgrades at all 3 interior o-line spots or at the least we need a new starter at center and right gaurd and get competition for zion at left gaurd
He looked real good with a real good center
It may just be he needs a good center to operate properly, which honestly we could probably live with
Zion gets bull rushed. He also gets beat on stunts, which a center would help. But right now imo his biggest problem is he’s just not strong/heavy enough, center won’t help. He just needs to work out and eat.

He is under contract yes
