Proof that coaching matters in the history of the chargers that I have seen Jim Harbaugh is right up there with Coreyell And Ross as well as Sid Gillman who was back in the old AFL days before my time as a fan started in the early 70s Which tells a tale 5 decades as a fan only 3 true great coachs enjoy these times merry x mas to all bolt fans.
64 years! Unbelievable. Merry Christmas Tony. Hope the Bolts can bring you a Super Bowl as a reward for such elite dedication and fandom. Thanks for listening.
ALSO , I Really enjoy listening to your takes as well as your tempo and the way you present your pod cast. Wishing you NOTHING but the best in your new years.
The adjustment that mostly shut down the Denver O was - At first they were playing deep and run. Not letting anything over their head and 'trying' to stop the run but gave them all those dinks and dunks. They took away those dinks and dunks and (as Bosa said) forced him to play QB and suddenly we got pressure and they had to start punting and kicking FGs.
Agree. Although I think Minter would be disappointed by some of the efforts on Defense in the first half (whether or not they were dinks and dunks). The Broncos did what they've done all year. Heavier personnel. Quick screens. Using the FB in the passing game. And the Chargers should've been better prepared on some of those TD drives. At least they tightened it up though, as you say.
We've always known it, Tay. And hopefully the netural viewers are realising this more and more now that the team is winning more frequently in nationally telecast games.
Yep! If you’re a long time listener you’d know that we changed a few things for this year, but we will always show love to Keenan Allen and obviously the bomb to Guyton is one of Herbert’s best throws so far 👌
Yes, we got away with a PI, but they scored a TD with an ineligible man down field. AND what is worse, they threw the flag, discussed it and made the wrong call. Take that TD off the board and maybe they score a FG, maybe they score a TRD anyways, maybe they get a turnover and don't score.... but you can't give them a free TD. They also got away with a helmet to helmet hit which should have been 15 yards and is a lot more serious then a PI call for player safety.
Merry Christmas to you too! My lawyer has advised me to say that it was a trivial/satirical comment in the quest for humour. *Face turning red* Ficken's played such a huge part in turning this team around. He's got high attention to detail and executes his head coach's orders well. That's all I meant by it ;-)
Every team (in all sports) have bad days. 2 weeks ago was a fluke (I hope). But being realistic. My goals for Harbaugh were a playoff berth and possibly even a playoff win. I don't think the Chargers are actually ready to beat the Bills or Chiefs on a regular basis. Obviously, any team can beat any other team, so if the stars align and.... who knows. You just have to get invited to the tournament and anything can happen. Then I look forward to year 2 when we hopefully have a true #! WR to pair with Ladd McConkey, we also need to improve the middle of the OL, some depth at DB and a stud RB.
This perspective almost perfectly aligns with ours. Our expectations and goals were to be competitive next year, and dangerous next year and beyond. Perhaps the only qualification is that the Offense has consistently struggled to play high-quality football (which was to be expected with the talent vacuum left by departing players) so I'm not sure if how they performed against the Chiefs and Bucs was a fluke. But at least this week was better. So maybe, just maybe, they are beginning to turn the corner at the right part of the season.
Did you just say "You can win with the dinks and dunks passes"? Have you ever heard of Bill Walsh and Joe Montana? Denver itself was looking good doing that until, like Bosa said, they made him play QB and then the Denver O fell apart.
Once the team got going, remember they did this against the NFLs #1 Def. No one runs or throws or scores against Denver like the Chargers did. And how about that 2 pt catch?!?!?
Definitely should've mentioned the Palmer catch. He did it against Atlanta too in a similar fashion. Herbert obviously trusts him and plays like those show us why.
Guys… this is THE best fucking Chargers channel…
Thank you! We have the best followers and listeners. Appreciate the support.
Jack and Andy I love you 💕 brothers no big deal have faith in my coach and my QB merry Christmas and happy and safe new year love 💝 you all

We can only imagine the atmosphere. Jealous!
Thanks again you guys. Merry Christmas to all of you and your family.. ☺️
Merry Christmas to you too! Thanks for listening.
2nd half, Derwin moved into the box and added a blocker on the offensive line to give Herbert time. Great win!
Great adjustments and a great win

Merry Christmas boys, I might just have to listen to Bowie’s version of the little drummer boy after Andy’s rendition
And Merry Christmas to you too! I'd take Bowie singing Christmas Carols < Me singing Mariah Carey :-p
@ if the Chargers win the Super Bowl then you might have to follow through on that…
Thanks again for a great episode mates! Excepting, of course, the sonic assault at the end. My ears are bleeding.😂
Plenty of more of that sonic boom where that came from. Thanks for listening!

Lmaoooo the Tua joke
:-p
Wasn't sure if this was a 2024 podcast? The KA and Guyton highlights for ur opening montage was a head scratcher???

Merry Christmas to Andy, Alister and Twinkie Toes. Alister, expect to hear from Ryan Ficken’s lawyer.
Merry Christmas to you too!

Tom Brady was the master of the 'dink and dunk'. There are many ways to win in the NFL, and paired with a good Defense, that's one effective way.
Once the team got going, remember they did this against the NFLs #1 Def. No one runs or throws or scores against Denver like the Chargers did. And how about that 2 pt catch?!?!?

hate to break it to you, but the Ravens scored 41 points against them and Cleveland scored 32
